  1. Great game last. Close as everyone expected. Way to go EAGLES. Go get'em monday night. Good luck to Collinwood on Monday as well. Both of these teams are Murfreesboro worthy. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. Welcome to the Region 6---NOW BETTER KNOWN AS THE DISTRICT 12A THREAD---- We heard it all.... "the twins"----"matchup problems"----"suffocating D"----"best D in the state"----"the D will be the difference in the game" blah blah blah you know who you are... now you can all tell your boss you don't need time off after all to go to murfreesboro take your Culleoka defense and STICK IT!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. who mentioned jordan, you assumed i meant him but if you say it was chamberlain...well he isn't on the list either so i guess you wouldn't want either of them over the 10 on the list... you tried to justify that player A is better than player B simply because of FG% and that obviously is not true. One thing is true, Wilt was the greatest PLAYA' of all time, or so the story goes...
  4. that's a ridiculous comarison and you know it. Look at this list of top ten NBA shooters based on field goal percentage in playoff games(minimum 300 attempts). Kurt Rambis - 57.37%; 284-for-495 Otis Thorpe - 56.91%; 321-for-564 Mark West - 56.62%; 201-for-355 Shaquille O??™Neal - 56.58%; 1970-for-3482 Kevin McHale - 56.13%; 1204-for-2145 Bernard King - 55.93%; 269-for-481 Darryl Dawkins - 54.64%; 542-for-992 Cedric Maxwell - 54.51%; 375-for-688 James Worthy - 54.40%; 1267-for-2329 Larry Nance - 54.12%; 440-for-813 What?? You mean the greatest player of all time isn't on this list? Oh yeah, these guys must be better than him.
  5. the awards were for "season" not tourney, but had there been a tourney MVP it may have gone west since his team won. However, i do agree that Harville was probably the MVP on the floor last night. As far as the Season MVP I understand why Thompson got it,again the 1st place team and Long would have been the recipient had S'town won the season. Toss -up as to who is MORE VALUABLE to their team. Last thing, IMO Long is more complete basketball player than Thompson.
  6. I am in no way connected to any player from perry county and you obviously did not understand the intent of my post.
  7. they'll be OK, perrycountyfreshmandad.
  8. YES!!! You can almost hear the conversation between the architect and the school administration when the gym opened for the first time. School Admin: "Hey man, where are the fans going to sit?" Architect: "the what?"
  9. I guess that means we won't see his name mentioned in this topic anymore then huh?
  10. High school athletes shouldn't have to make a decision but I think as each year goes by and practice requirements cover more and more of the calendar, I think they feel pressured to make a decision. Are there some out there who think there son/daughter feels the pressure to make a decison, or maybe the decision has already been made, based on the commitment required?
  11. High school baseball season just ended...summer teams are forming and practices are being held....and basketball coaches have just handed out their summer "workout" schedules. I have heard from a few solid basketball players who are considering quitting basketball because they just want to play baseball during the summer. If they don't "also" commit to the summer basketball schedule, they feel their playing time during the season will be jeopardized, so rather than worry about it, they may quit. I understand why basketball coaches do it...because everyone else is doing it and they don't want to be behind when official workouts start later this year. But what are they actually gaining if Billy, who averages 15 points/10 rebounds per game quits to play baseball only. He shouldn't have to choose between sports but the pressure to practice one sport while playing the other increases each year. I know you're out there going through the same issues right now with your son/daughter who plays multiple sports....thoughts???
  12. jcs 10 huntingdon 4 Final
  13. Wrong! Umpires do get hotels paid for. and typically umpires from the same association do not work together. It is unusual to have 3 from the same association anyway.
  14. Summertown defeated Perry County 10-0 for the championship. On Monday, Summertown will host Culleoka and Perry County will travel to Richland.
  15. knox is correct. with an 0-2 count... batter swings and is hit by pitch results in a dead ball strike. batter is out and no advancement of runners is allowed.
  16. and what are you going to say if the count is 0-2 on the batter and this happens?
  17. HUH? Foul ball? What if the ball went fair? If a batter swings and the pitch makes contact with the batter, it is a DEAD BALL STRIKE. As cats said, the hands are never part of the bat. When the day comes when a batter drops his bat and his hands fall with it then they might have to change this rule.
  18. mckenzie beat s'town 7-6 in 8 inn. s'town beat trousdale by a bunch
  19. summertown won 4-1 jon ivie pitched a no hitter
  20. summertown hosts collinwood wed.
  21. I agree chuck, a 3-man crew does giv'em a better game. And there is nothing better than an extra base hit and PU has rotated to 3B, U3 is standing at 2b, and U1 is standing @ home. SMOOTH!
