  1. Thanks...forgot that that District is split...
  2. The top two advance...who else is left?
  3. Won't both of them advance. Winner stays home and loser goes to 8AAA Champs home site?
  4. Clairfication - He did, just not as much as usually...his partner at third was coming across for the possible call at second if needed...I haven't called in years, but from talking with some at the games that have and are still calling, position is still the key to seeing the entire play and the 3-man allows that a lot more....
  5. Good...who do they play next?
  6. Tag plays for one...saw two overslides, one at second and one at third...the one at second would have probably been called the same with a two man, but the one at third would mostly gone the other way. Runner on second attempts to steal third and the third base ump is on the line with a perfict view...sold the out and the coach didn't say a word. Another one was a close play at first and the first baseman pull at the last second...ump at first was behind the play and not inside made it easier to see and sell. I spoke with Hall of Famer (Eugene London) 8AAA supervisor and he indicated that three is the way it should be and you'll hear less complaints from the fans and coaches will get the balk call that's almost never called in a two. Bottomline is it's a better called game....
  7. I knew it all came down to money....I also agree that practice and working together will make you better. The crews that have been used in District 8AAA this year have seem to work well together and you can tell it wasn't their first time at doing it. All calls won't be correct however they are difintely in a better position to make the call (alot less running to get the right angle).
  8. I have seen every game in the 8AAA tournment this year and I know there have been at least 10 calls that were made that probably would have gone the other way if there had only been two umpires instead of three. Why can't every game have three during the regular season?
  9. If it's true then its got to be a record...
  10. That's hard to believe...I know he's good, but for every out to have been a strikeout is alittle much....I may be wrong, but I have my doubts....
  11. You wrong on this one...I know the crew that called the CA game and they didn't say anything about Senior Night...they were waiting for the CA team to arrive. CA didn't get to the field until about 10 minutes before kick off. They had done their warm ups somewhere else and stepped off the bus dressed. The game started about 5 minutes late and no flag was thrown for delay of game. Also there wasn't 20 -25 penalties that night and from where I was standing the only penalty that the MP Coach questioned was a holding call on a long pass play and I think you got a break in that one. If I'd been the official I'd called Pass Interference, but that's why they get paid and I don't.
  12. Your the idiot...it doesn't make any difference if the ball hits the ground first...he still gets protection....
  13. Hockey needs to go back on strike.
