The reason the u.s. had the possession is the czechs saw the games from korea 02 and all we did was counter and score. they figure if they sit like we did we couldnt break them down, which.... we couldnt... the least bit. they knew if they played that way we did in 02 we would never score, italy will play the same way and beat us also. guys, do not get ur hopes up, if we get a point out of this group it will surprise me. The possession we had was GIVEN TO US by the czechs, who gladly sat back and watched us give away passes, pass around aimlessly til we gave it away. Does anyone else know tactics or strategy on this forum????

Hate to say "I told you so" but I think its necessary here after all the crap I took for saying that the U.S. has lacked passion as of late, lacked quality and just plain is not playing well. All of the statements I made were proven today and I was very dissapointed in the play of the U.S. A horrid performance, probably the worst I have seen them play since they lost to Iran at France 98' Rosicky and Nedved are just too good and who knows how many more goals Czech would have gotten if Koller didnt tear his hamstring. Beasley, Convey useless. Defense was unorganized, the entire team was just SLOW all over the field. I dont think the Czechs even went 100% they coasted through this game, very dissapointing, not the result, the effort, an absolute embarrassment. You guys did not see this coming, I did, the passion is not there, apparently Beasley and Donovan think they are superstars or something. Lewis couldnt cross a ball correctly if his life depended on it, I mean I see children who can cross balls in better than Lewis did today. Ok im done venting.

stay n skool I dont have time to respond right now it would be lengthy but what im getting from a lot of people on this forum, just saying we are going to win the group is nonsense. yes we have a chance to advance, a decent chance, but some of you act like we are the favorites. I know more about the game then you could ever imagine, especially european soccer. U.S. as good as Czechs??? I hate Arsenal is why I have this name and I made this name like a year ago. Essien costs more than the entire u.s. team in the transfer market, def not a mistake he plays for chelsea! they have superstars that never play. I root for the u.s. dont get wrong, but some of you have lost your minds. We will have to play awesome every game and the other teams will have to underestimate entirely (portugal 02). Rui Costa said they didnt even scout the u.s. they thought they could just show up and win. we will not be underestimated anymore and germany was crap in 02 they were lucky, very lucky to get to the final. mls players are just no where near the level of european professionals, it is fact. Donovan could barely get off the subs bench at Leverkusen and he is the best in the mls!! We have a few good players that can play but not near enough good starting 11 to win the group. winning the group is just ridiculoulous, getting 2nd in the group will be an amazing accomplishment. The injuries will not effect Czechs as much as you think, Jan Koller was back 2 weeks ago and scored a brace against Bayern Munich, nedved is getting old but he is still much better than anyone we have. you act like some overexuberant american fan who fails to see the truth. u.s. is my team but i dotn say things like c"zechs are no more talented than the u.s."- you lose all credibility with that statement. its not your fault, you just dont know what you are talking about. I do hope to see Mcbride own Nesta though.

Everyone on this forum has gone mad, we have not proved anything. The italians not that good???? are you crazy they are sick. This is their best team for the past 2 world cups. Czechs are not overrated, they have injuries, but they have so many great players it shouldnt matter. Ghana is the best african team no doubt. we dont play african teams often so i dont know how this will turn out. MLS players do not play the competition the italians czechs play, its that simple. when the u.s. plays internationals they rarely play a great euro or south american team and if they do they get spanked. playing cuba, jamaica, costa rica, central american countries has not prepared us for the world cup. Winning those games mean nothing. We will have to play incredible to win any games and any other team will have to play awful.

The only 2 teams in recent years to even get out of their bracket at regionals have been TNFC 90 and TNFC 88 and a few on the girls side has progressed from their bracket too. 90s got to the semifinal, and 88 got to the final. TNFC 89 was at regionals too, but they did not do well. Knoxville teams get smacked at regionals for the most part. The best of Tennessee is from middle.

They play for the national team not a school team, most of those players go back and play with their original clubs for regionals, nationals and state. Dallas Texans had their national team players when they beat TNFC 88 at regionals last year.

No, i dont think so at all. In the past few years Knoxville has done well in HS 03-04, but Bearden was not the best team this year, not to take away anything from them. I thought they were ok, but not that good. Hendersonville dominated them, but couldnt score. But, that's the way it goes sometimes, the best team doesnt always win it all. Props to Bearden for winning though, all they did was sit back and defend.Knoxville has NOT dominated HS soccer whatsoever ths year. Club soccer is being almost totally dominated by Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood teams, just look at the list of state champions it is more than 80% nashville area teams across the board boys and girls.

FIFA rankings are nonsense anyway, the only people that care about rankings such as these are americans and we buy into it. Everyone else in the world is laughing at our #4 ranking. If you look at the ranking system it is skewed bigtime, us not getting a top 8 seeding should tell everyone where we are at, while mexico got one.

I will give you 1000/1 odds U.S. will not win their group, heck i would bet my life. Fact is, Italy, Czechs, and Ghana all have expensive, world class players that we do not have. Our highest ratest player is Reyna or Beasley worth $4million or so. Michael Essien(Ghana) was bought by Chelsea for $30 million or so a year or two ago, he is worth more than the US team by himself. Italy is loaded with many world class players and the Czechs are too. We have some good players but NONE that are world class, none that are even close. We can hope that the Czechs beat themselves since they named many older players, and a few that are injured, while nedved's form has been lacking recently. This Czech team reminds me of Portugal 02 team. We can always be optimistic but if you know football, you know we are the probably worst in the group going in.
