  1. They were in the 14U group I believe. General, do you or anyone else know of any other tournament or playday going on in the Cookeville area anytime soon? Except the one this weekend on the 15th. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the run down. That answers all my questions. I guess that is what makes tournament time so much fun. I look forward to the game. Go LA!!!
  3. Wow!! Isn't this great! Two great teams in a do or die game. This is what tournament time is all about. It is just to bad that it is in the first round. Can someone tell me what happened in the district tournament with Goodpasture. Being number one and not winning either the semis or the consolation. Was it bad play on their part or just really good play on the other teams? Was there bad officiating or injuries involved? I was just wondering. I think this will be a nail biter for both teams with two totally different gameplans offensively but Wildcats remember that Offense wins games but Defense wins championships. Go LA!!!!
  4. I really hope that you are wrong about this one muffin. I think this will be a good game and I would not dare to try to pick the outcome. Being a LA fan I would be disappointed with a loss in the first round of region. These girls have had a good year and being in a tough district I hope that it pushes them through region. What bothers me is that sometimes in big games I have seen LA girls lose heart on the floor and almost stop trying. If this happens it will be a long game but if they play like they are capable of watch out everyone. To the players and coaches of LA we are behind you 100% and would love for you and the boys to bring home a substate game like both teams are capable of. Go LA!!
  5. You never know!! The good thing about LA is that they do not overlook anyone and they take one game, one tournament at a time. At this point that is all a team can do. If it leads you to state than thats great but there is a lot of basketball yet to be played. As for tonight great game cats keep it up.
  6. I hope your right. Lets go Temple this is when it counts.
  7. I would also like to wish the other seniors good luck as well. Lance Ruble, Justin Monday, Tyler Livingston, Tyler Smith, and Brandon Matthews its been awesome. Go all the way to state!
  8. Coach Richard Melton will have his LA Wildcats ready like he did in the previous 12 district games in which LA won all of. The immaturity and stupidity of all the district coaches that did not pick this awesome coach the coach of the year is beyond me. A rookie coach that goes undefeated in 7-AA and no coach of the year to show for it says how pathetic some of these schools coaches are. Well I guess they can watch most the post season from the stands because the hard work from the LA Wildcats and their coach will take them far. Good luck Wildcats tonight and the rest of the way and for Coach Melton great job this year.
  9. I have seen the messages on this board the last couple weeks and it worries me how we can go from congratulating a team on a big win to putting another down. I am a huge fan of Overton County basketball. We as a county should be in unison since all the schools feed to Livingston Academy. So why are we putting down what could be our kids teammates in years to come? Why are we letting our kids hear all the negetive things about each other rather than focusing on the positive? If it is jealousy then we as adults have some issues of our own. What we need to do is to encourage the schools as a group so that it carries over to the high school level. This will not only help our kids in basketball but also in the more important issues as well. Congratulations to all the Overton County teams to another awesome year of basketball and good luck to our one high school Livingston Academy in the tournaments. Lets all be one TEAM.
  10. They should continue the tournament even with the weather. They usually do. I think this will be an espn instant classic due to the meetings this year between the two teams but when it is all said and done it comes down to coaching. The Livingston coaching staff will be up to the challenge and LA will win it down the stretch. Lets go Lady Wildcats and good luck the rest of the way.
