  1. Hey dude you need to get real. Do a poll of coaches and ask them how many would teach if they couldn't coach. There is nothing wrong with wanting to teach to become a coach. The thing that you have to realize is that most coaches contrary to all popular belief are good teachers. I for one would not teach if I could not coach, but I have been teacher of the year 2 times in the last 12 years in two different systems. Now as an administrator one of the questions I ask in an interview is what extra-curricular activities the candidate might be interested in helping with. If they tell me they don't want to do anything after school then that in my opinion hurts there chances. Teachers who come in at 8 and leave at 4 to me are not giving or getting the full educational experience for the kids. Just my opinion.
  2. I agree with you. They deserve the chance to finish. It is so funny that people are always so quick to blamed the seniors, the QB and the coaches. My goodness people you would think that you would have learned your lessons by now. School been there 11 years and had 6 head coaches. You never give people time to accomplish anything. It is so funny that you first blame coaches, then kids, then the moon isn't aligned right, etc. Why don't you accept the fact that Rome wasn't built in a day and that good things take time. Funny how as soon as the coaches leave there they become successful or have been successful before they got there. Sounds to me like you should all join together and get behind the kids and support, not try and run the team. You have good kids there and it is funny to sit back and watch Coach Summey deal with the same problems the coaches before him have had to deal with. You should never involve the kids in this discussion. As far as that goes you should never down anyone on here. People make mistakes and as long as they learn from them then mistakes are okay. Funny how this season is such a mirror image of 2 years ago isn't it. When you start over every two or three years that is what you should expect. Good luck Chiefs and I wish you well.
  3. Hey Blueangel 51. Are you who I think? If so how are all of my ETSU track guys doing? This is your former coach here. Let me know how to get in touch wirth you guys. I would like to know how you'll are liking it up there. My email is jholloway5@ yahoo.com. Like to hear from you guys.
  4. Very well put coach. just as ELA said this whole set up is a farce. Summeys name was mentioned long before the former coach resigned. Is there a way I could contact you. I would like to talk to you about hte way the process was handled. No it is not Holloway, but if you care i am in the building and very concerned about some happenings in the school.
  5. Not going to happen. I don't believe Sharp has the Masters Degree to be an Asst. Principal. Also certain school board members would never let this happen. You are right you will be starting all over again. Every year or two you will be starting over again. Good luck on the rest of it.

  7. From what I am hearing the only names being mentioned out there are former Vonore coaches. You know that will surely cure the problem a Vonore coach. After all look at the only Vonore Coach that works at SQHS now. He has a heck of a baseball program and does a wonderful job as AD. That is just what SQHS needs another Vonore coach. LOL!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Your name fits you so well. The only name better would be just being and a____.
  9. Thanks Gibson. You are right he never really had a chance. I hope someone will give him a chance and leave him alone long enough to build a program. He is a very great person and good football coach. He really works hard and has made me a better person and player. IF someone will give him a chance I don't believe they will be dissappointed in the way he relates and motivates kids. He also works harder than anyone I have ever been around when it comes to his program and getting what it needs to become successful.
  10. He would probably do well if given the right amount of time. He had Sequoyah headed in the right direction and ran out of time. One thing for sure though he has to much respect to even inquire about a job that is not officially open yet. If it comes open he might apply.
  11. At around 12:15 today the Head Football Coach at Sequoyah High School officially resigned. In a tearful resignation statement to the players Coach Holloway officially resigned to the players. Last week rumors and tempers were high about this topic, but now it is official. I want to thank Coach Holloway for all he has done for me and my family. He is a great man and would give you the shirt off his back to help you. Good luck to him wherever he may end up. We will miss him deeply. What a mistake to let him get away. Whether his resignation was forced or not we willnever really know boy either way it was a huge mistake. Thanks Monroe County. YOu have done it again.
  12. Coach I would like to apologize for my post. You are right it just needs to be handled in house and not on here.
  13. As ususal you go off at the mouth without knowing the facts. RT 21 CB Trap I wish you would have learned some lessons in class from your coach. Obviously coaches can't do everything as your wasn't able to teach you to have some dignity and class. THe man worked his tail off and without much help from the system. I am sure Meigs is embarressed to have someone like you claimming to be a fan and former player.
  14. Remember one thing nosey it was hard for a coach to run a team that was being micromanaged by the AD and administration as they were. Not sure what game you saw but you bviously didn't see them before the last couple of years. By the way I am not a coach I was a player.
  15. After only 2 years SQHS football coach has been released from his coaching duties. Word has it that no real reason was given. This team had shown steady improvement but just couldn't get over the win hump. The team had developed discipline, and a good work ethic. They also started a ton of young kids and was on the way to being a good team. Is two years really a fair amount of time for anyone to build a program. Sequoyah has had at least 5 coaches since it open 11 years ago. Take a look at the situation and see if you really think Hollaway was treated fairly. Get real Monroe County. You are developing another situation like Telico Plains. Good luck and good job on screwing the players and the coaches. My heart goes out to the coach and his family. First they move here and take a pay cut then he becomes a victim of the Monroe County politics.
