  1. Sequoyah High will be hosting the First Annual Battle of the Trenches "Hawg Warfare Competition on June 24th at the High School Field. The Competition will be for offensive and defensive lineman to give them there moment in the sun. The competition will begin at 9:00 am. The thought behind this is that we could give our lineman a chance to showcase their talents and let them compete in the summer just like passing league does for the skill players. They will compete in 9 different events and will be scored from first through 10th place. This would be an excellent way to reward them for the hard work that they put in during the off season. Cost: $150.00 per team (a team may consist of a maximum 14 players) For more information contact Coach Holloway at (423)404-5352. Call now and reserve your spot. Concessions will be available at the competition. Admission will be $2.00 for spectators. The Format will be as follows: 1. There will be nine events to participate in. 2. Points will be awarded from 1st to 10th place in each event. 3. First place will receive 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, etc. 4. Trophies will be awarded for first place in each event. 5. Team trophies will be awarded for first , second and third place. T-Shirts will be given to each participant. The events will be as follows: 1. The 7 man tug of war. (One team per entry) 2. 20 yard dash (All Participants) 3. 15 yard tire flip. (All entries) 4. Obstacle course (All Entries) 5. 1 man sled competition (All entries) 6. 2 man sled competition (5 Teams per entry) 7. 5 man sled competition (2 Teams per entry) 8. 185 Pound bench reps (All Participants) 9.   3. Scott Eastep former Grace Christian Academy Coach and now Carson Newman Graduate Assistant is the new man from what I have heard. He has met with the kids, but no official word as of yet I don't think. Good Luck to him if it is a true rumor.
  4. Good luck to the new coach. You will need it with all of the politics in Monroe County from what I hear. The SQHS coach seems to be hangin in there and doing a pretty good job in the off season. Hope you have the same good luck on getting players to commit to the program.
  5. Hey thats cool. Where in Alabama is he from? Alabama must be taking over Monroe Coutny, isn't Sequoyah's coach from Alabama? I understand he came from Georgia but I believe he is from Alabama originally. Good luck to the new coach on his new job.
  6. Sequoyah High School In Madisonville, Tn. willbe hosting a Bigger Faster Stronger Clinic at the High School gym on Saturday Feb. 25 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. If you have any athletes or coaches who may want to attened call Coach Holloway at (423) 404-5352. Coaches may also receive the BFS cewrtification for a fee of $199.00. Athlete registration will only be $20.00. The clinic will be limiteds to the first 200 people to register.
