SD loses to Webb @ Webb 5-9. Carr now 3-2. Errors once again a problem and Webb had 6 doubles. SD opened with Moore HS from KY in the Smokey Mountain Invitational at Pigeon forge with a 15-2 win. B. Rogers on the mound and gets the win for a 3-2 record. The Cherokees play realy great @ times and appear to self implode @ others. Good team chemistry seems to help this team win. Play Pigeon Forge tonight @ 7;15 in second round. Sd 11-5 5-1 in IMAC GOOOOOO SD Cherokees!!!!!!

South Doyle 8 Morristown East 4. Game was moved to Mo East tonight. Clifton got his 5th win and allowed 1 earned run. 6 doubles by 4 different Kees and the whole lineup hitting the ball hard. Errors in the first inning again bit the Cherokee team, but they worked through it and remained perfect the rest of the game. SD is now 10-4 and 5-1 in the IMAC. Still need to makeup home games against Mo West and East. @ Webb tomorrow with Carr on the mound. TEAM Kees

South Doyle game at Mo East canceled. Team notified when they were on the bus going up about the Sevierville exit . The Kees will play Mo East at home tomorrow. (weather permiting)

Another dramatic win by the South Doyle Cherokees last night over Maryville. Walk off double by the freshman Stansberry scored the tie and winning runs. Carr gets the win and is now 3-1. The Kees are 9-4. Mo East up this week. Go Kees! Anyone else playing or knows who is in the Smoky Mountain Classic next weekend in Pigeon Forge?

South Doyle 4 Mo West 3 @ Mo West. Clifton got the win and he is now 4-0, 3-0 in the IMAC. Timely hitting by Moore, Cormack, and Hickey. Solid play by outfield. Houser @ C has to have the best most accurate arm in the IMAC. Threw out 2 of 3 basestealers and would have got the other if ss could have came up clean on the catch. Mo West is supposed to come to Robbie Howard Stadium tomorrow for the makeup game. 100% chance of rain may be another washout. The Kees are 4-1 in the IMAC and 8-4 overall. SD TEAM

South Doyle won 9-2 over Gibbs to salvage one win in the Beaver creek Classic. HRs by Houser, Moore, Massey, and Cormack led the hitting of the Kees. I Carr pitched entire game for the Cherokees recording his 2nd win of the season. Mo West up Monday and Tuesday in the IMAC and then Maryville away Thursday. One observation- When South Doyle gets their heads handed to them in a bad loss the game summary and score is always posted in the Sentinel. When the team hits well and beats good opponents, not a hint of the game ever being played is mentioned. I know the home team is supposed to submit scores, but who does it in these tournys? Oh well keep playing hard Kees and good things will come your way. SD 7-4 at the present. It would be great if they were 10-4 @ the end of this week. GOOO!!!! KEEEEEEESSSS!!!

Webb = rainout for South Doyle on Wednesday. On Thursday the cherokees had error out vs Pigeon Forge. You know it's bad when the winning team had 4 hits and still won 11-0. 5 Cherokee errors in the first two innings gave up 7 unearned runs. Friday was not any better with 4 South Doyle errors and an 8-0 lead for Catholic. Final score was SD 2 Catholic 11. Maybe it's the weather. Cold and wet, but all the teams played in it. Last game of tourney today vs unkown opponent at Gibbs. Goo kees?

South Doyle over Cherokee 18-7. Grand slam by I. Moore and 3 run shot by G. Houser. B Rogers for the win and is now 2-1. At Webb tomorrow evening then Pigeon Forge Thursday in the Beaver Creek Classic at Halls. Pool play has Halls and Catholic with PF and SD. Other pool in Gibbs has Gibbs/ Central/ Grainger County/ and Morristown East. GO Kees Just win baby!!!

South Doyle 3 Cherokee 0 Second shutout for Clifton who is now 3-0 without giving up a run. To Rogersville tomorrow afternoon.

South Doyle defeated Webb Friday night 7-1. B.Rogers held the Spartans to 2 hits. The Kees pounded out 10 hits against Webb. The Cherokees then won their pool by defeating Grace 5-4 on Saturday. I.Carr threw the entire game for the win. Lefty for Grace settled down after the 2nd inning and threw well, but the SD defense held to preserve the win for the Kees. Moved to OR to play in winners pool bracket against Powell. The South Doyle guys jumped to a 3-1 lead but could not stop the Panthers from pounding out hits. Powell defeated the Kees 8-3. The Cherokees now stand @ 4-2. The top of the order is hitting well and 3 good performances by Cherokee pitchers bodes well for this team. The guys need to correct a few baserunning and defensive gaffs and the team will be solid. Home and away district games with Cherokee Mon. and Tues. the @ Webb Wednesday. The Cherokee men will then be in the Beaver Creek Classic @ Halls Thursday through Saturday. BASEBALL GOTTA LOVE IT! Compete hard and GOOOOO! Cherokees!

Wild one for SD last night in the Nike/Kessler classic in Clinton. SD was ahead 10-2 going into bottom of the 6th when the wheels started coming off. The dragons started hitting the ball to the gaps and the Cherokees found themselves tied after 7. The SD team scored 4 in the top of the 8th and held on to win 14-13. A win is a win but man that was a tough game. Maybe the Kee men learned a little about themselves and this may come back to help them later. SD faces Webb @ 5 in Clinton. GO SD Cherokees!

Congrats Scott and the SC Bears. Man, your guys were hitting the ball well. Several errors on SDs part made it ugly. The field was in great shape considering all the rain 4 hours before game time. Next up for the Kees is Clinton Thursday, Webb Friday, and Grace Saturday in the Nike/Kessler Challenge in Clinton. I hope the guys will regroup and put this game in the rearview mirror. Every game should be relished and remember the good, correct the bad and return to the field and play the greatest game on earth. GO KEEEES!!!!

Cocke County 5 Cherokee 3 as reported by the Newport Plain Talk. Things kinda look wet for tonights rematch games. Sevier County coaches say they can cover the field and maybe get the game in. Nice luxury for a high school field GO KEES!

Who does everyone open with Monday? Sevier County @ South Doyle @ 5 and then on Tuesday SD travels to SC. I assume everyone opens up Monday the 14th. The SD Kees then travel to Clinton Thursday, Friday, and 2 Saturday in tourney. The Kees will play Clinton, Webb, and Grace in the first three games and I assume will play one of them again in game 4. Cherokee comes to Robbie Howard stadium on Monday the 21st and then SD takes their longest road trip to play Cherokee on Tuesday the 22nd. Let the games begin GOO Kees!!!

The SD Cherokees will scrimmage at Pigeon Forge tomorrow (Monday) @ 5 weather permitting. Last week to tweak things before we open with Sevier County at our place the following Monday and at the BEAR den on Tuesday. GOO Kees!!!![color="#FF0000"][/color]

South Doyle playday with Carter/ Sullivan Central and Halls rained out. I would think that most scheduled playdays would not happen today. GO KEES!

Wow Solo-mon! You really opened a can of worms on this one. I agree that the bears should have had more on the team. I still don't know who was selected. I did not realize when the Kees went to this conference that info about it would be hard to find here in Knoxville. I don't care for your coach very much because of some things I have observed about him the last two years in different venues (ie summer ball and tourney play) but with that said he is not our coach nor have I spoke with him personally. I know that Jeff County has issues also and you know what I am talking about. Sevier County deserves respect for what they did this year and I will root for them because of you guys. You have shown nothing but class for my family and will always hold a special place in our sons baseball memories. Good luck Bears and good luck @ Maryville College next season. GO BEARS!

Congrats Solo-Mon 2. You guys deserve to crow out loud. Where did you find the all district team? I understand your frustration, but these teams are ofton selected in everyones mind before the season began. If a player makes a name for himself his Jr. or Soph. years he will be a lock for the next year or two even if he tanks his Sr. year. Who won the Big 8 or big 2 and little 6 as I see it. Again congrats to the Sevier County Bears

SD defeated Cocke County 8-3 and play Mo East for the fourth time Monday night in the loser bracket. My Kees must win this game and defeat a good Sevier County twice on Tuesday to advance. TALL order but not impossible. I think the KEE will be our SR. hitters. Pitching options are there but underclassmen will have to step up for the Seniors to continue their high school ambitions. No matter what the end it has been fun watching Kirkland, Thomas, Whitt, Shannon, Giles, Spear, Lett, and Noe compete over the last 4 years. Thanks guys for the memories and I hope you will look back and realize what good times you have had. Go Kees and win the next three for yourselves and the South Doyle baseball program. KEEESSS!

South Doyle went down to Mo East for the 3rd time. The Kees were ahead the whole game until the end and lost 8-7. Mo East is a scrappy team and had a lot of timely hits. The Kees play hot and cold putting 6 on em in the first 2 innings and then only managed 2 in the last 5. Play @ 2:30 today against Cocke Cnty I assume. Any score from late game Solo-Mon?

Congrats Sevier County and to you Solo-Man 2. Do you know the format for playoffs yet? It looks like SD wil finish 5th, but after a mid season slump the Kees have responded with 8 straight with wins over Cocke County and Cherokee twice, and quality wins over Mo West, Webb, Heritage, and today Science Hill (see Big 8 thread). I hope we have got hot at the right time to make a good run in the state. GOOO! KEEEESSS!

South Doyle beat Science Hill today. Great game with Clifton pitching for the Cherokees and being relieved by Kirkland. Kirkland had a HR and a triple and 2 intentional walks. The 3rd baseman for SH hit a HR and had a big hit to tie the score in the top of the 7th. He said he was a Freshman #22. South Doyle was ahead 3-2 in the top of the 7th when the freshman got the hit to tie. SH chose to put Kirkand on in the bottom of the 7th as the leadoff batter, and just like so many times this year the next batter Thomas made them pay. Zach hit a screamer to the right field corner and Kirkland scored from 1st to win 4-3. The Kees are on an 8-0 run right now and are looking solid for the playoffs.

Did anyone get their games in tonight? Hailstorm in the bottom of the 3rd ended it for SD and Cherokee tonight. SD was up 3-2 with runners in scoring postion when the skies opened up and sent pea size hail pounding the SD players who rushed to get the tarp on the field. Kinda fun to watch You would think they were being attacked by a swarm of bees by the way they were reacting. Game has been rescheduled for tomorrow same place same time.
