Clayton's winning percentage is probably the best among active veteran metro coaches. Anderson's winning percentage is above .500 but not for sure of exact numbers. It is probably something around 170 wins and 140 losses. His first few years at Hillsboro were rough and then he brought them into being a contender. He was around the .500 mark at Antioch. Finally, his first few years back at Overton were pretty good then they hit a low period for a few years and of course recently they have been to the playoffs for the last several years going around 8-2 every year. Best program in metro over the last ten or so years is Hillsboro, then Maplewood, and then probably Pearl. I would put Overton fourth. I only put Overton fourth because of the numbers and because they always play stiff competition in the playoffs with Williamson County and Rutherford. Maplewood and Pearl have an easier route in the playoffs in my opinion. This year I think the metro districts are completely up in the air. There is a lot of good talent and we will see who has the best staffs that can coach the talent. Cane Ridge put a hurting on Pearl while Maplewood was dominant as they should have been. It is possible that Pearl will go into their game against East Nashville 0-3. Should be interesting.

So to the topic, what will the outcome be this week? My guess is a tight ball game. PC will be more focused this week and ready to play. If PC limits the turnovers then I think they win.

Here's my thoughts: I dont have kids but if I did I would rather have them in college than winning a high school football championship. I also would not care if they were inner city kids or not. College is more important period. You missed my point. I knew you and your fellow PC supporters would. Your coach and program brag about all the talent that you have going on to college. With all of that talent why no gold or silver balls? Don't bring up the two under Fitzgerald. Those don't count here because Fitzgerald never bragged about getting kids into college he just did it because it was the right thing to do. If its not the kids then it must be...........just fill in the blank with the answer because I am curious as to what it is. As far as PC/CR, just admit you all got beat by the better team that night. Those turnovers were for a reason. Give another team credit where credit is due. And no, I am not a CR guy. Give Giles credit while you're at it and stop all the excuses. Winners win and losers make excuses.

You PC guys are too funny. The fact that you all call yourselves PCU is a joke. I know you all are referring to how many players you all send to the college level. Getting kids to play in college is great. I am not knocking you there. However, if you all are putting so many kids in college, and if no one in the state is too much for you all, then why are you all not winning gold or silver balls every year???? The fact that CR was too much for you all says enough. The fact the Giles put up so many points they stopped counting says enough. I love the talk but talk is cheap. Swami you are correct about chsteamplayers prediction I think even before last season ended. Kind of crazy that it ended up happening just as he said it would. It will be interesting to see who all Clayton can get. I think he will probably have to go the non-faculty route to get a couple quality coaches and then try to fit others in as he can. Makes it really hard without teaching spots available.

Not patting myself on the back at all. Just saying that this was a done deal for a while, longer than a week and a half or so. It may not have been signed off on by Register but Schrader knew who he wanted way before a week and a half ago. Like I said, Clayton has been interviewing for about three or four weeks now. And I got that from someone who interviewed with Clayton at Hillsboro High School. My info was always correct too. So was the fork who predicted this a long time ago. So Indy since you are such big friends with Clayton who is his staff going to be? What defense will he run? What offense? Etc.. Just ask him like you did recently.

I dont know why just throwing names out there of possibilities. SC is Smithson Craighead. Fitzgerald is trying to get the charter school to expand to 12th grade but has not had much luck yet. He might could be lured back to his old school. RT is at McMurray. No idea where Indy is getting his info from. Common knowledge if you know of Schrader and his wanting to have a winning program. Dont know why it hasnt been public yet.

Very true I was actually thinking past Moreno. Hillsboro never having a minority coach (until Moreno) had to do with Indy saying that MNPS wants a minority coach. Moreno was the first and he did not last very long. You are right about anyone interviewing and at any time. However, it is fairly common knowledge that Schrader wants Clayton and Clayton wants the job. I do not know what the hold up is but my guess is finding assistant coaches. The other finalist that I have heard is the guy from BA/Franklin. Law was not mentioned until very late. I would think that if Metro wanted a minority coach they might go with Brunetti from PC, MF from SC, or RT former Maplewood coach instead of Law. Just my opinion. Who knows what will happen. Spring is approaching and if a new head coach has not been named unofficially then time is a wasting for the burros. East Lit, CR, and even Brentwood already have coaches. So getting everything together as in holding these interviews at Hillsboro and saying that he is the new head football coach during interviews held on school grounds???? The job has been offered to Clayton and he has accepted. It may not be official through Metro and you may be right in that the big wigs may want a minority coach. But I can assure you that Clayton has been offered and has accepted the job from Shrader.

If I am wrong then why is Clayton already putting together his staff? Why is he conducting interviews for his new coaches? To my knowledge, Hillsboro has never had a minority head football coach. Shrader knows Metro. He isnt finding anything out that he did not already know.

Yes it has been in both papers but not a major article. It was just stated at the bottom of articles.

Was head coach at WC a couple years ago. Was supposed to go to Indy with Dyson but it fell through. Then went to Portland last year .

Job is and has been Claytons for a little while. Should be announced very soon. He is already trying to put together a staff. This is difficult without teaching positions. Like run stated, there just are not any teaching spots for the new staff. Same problem Moreno had. Moreno will be a DC somewhere soon.

It was pushed through quickly because Parks was already on staff.

The hiring process is a little more complicated than this. It has to be cleared through multiple offices. Some are slower than others.

Fork is correct about Clayton whom will be bringing several Franklin assistants with him. Currently putting together staff. Should be announced soon.
