  1. I seriously doubt any of what you said is true about Coach A interviewing for Brentwood. Coaches do not tell administrators that they want parents to stay out of the way.
  2. When was the last time BA, MBA, or Ensworth hired a public school coach? MTCS is a lot different than these three.
  3. Hopefully we will all know something on East and Stratford tomorrow. Hillsboro and Cr still a week or two away.
  4. I am sure it was pretty wild down there for Bama fans. I was kind of thinking the same thing about Blade. OR has so much tradition and if he can keep improving they just may get back to being a dominant power in the east much like Maryville. What do you think about all of the metro openings and who do you think gets the jobs?
  5. Sometimes it's not about money or atmosphere. OR has a lot of tradition and I am sure Blade is doing really well financially. However, if I am not mistaken he has family here in the midstate. How about it 14NCS? What do you think about the chance of seeing Blade around here sometime soon.
  6. I was thinking Blade might want to return to the midstate area. Brentwood would be a good place to go for him. McPhail to East or Cr? Could be interesting if that is whom you are speaking of.
  7. What big names fork? What do you know about the MNPS openings?
  8. I would think that he would be on their short list.
  9. Looks like we may just have to add McGavock to the list soon.
  10. Like he was at WC who was 0-10 including 0-4 in a very weak district. Averaged 11 points a game and was most productive in a 27-31 loss to 1A Moore County.
  11. I am guessing you are right about East and Jabba. I heard he didn't even get an interview at CR and he wasnt too happy. Some are saying WC OC to Stratford. Hope they got who they wanted. I think WC only won a couple of games last year. CR I think is wide open. Im going to say it will be someone with ties to the area.
  12. Blade came to MNPS to be closer to family if I am not mistaken. Im not sure why he left but my guess is he had bigger plans in mind and a lack of support. The other "outsider" was Mike Woodward at AHS by way of Ravenwood. Woodward is still at AHS.
  13. I second that. If the governor gets all that he wants then the teaching profession is going to become extinct in public schools. The man needs to come take our places for a week and see what all we do for these kids.
  14. I'll take a stab at it. I think no matter where you are administrators already have an idea of who they want. I think they take all the applicants and screen the resumes to narrow down the list. Then they conduct interviews. Unless the guy they want has an awful interview and someone else blows them away it is already decided. In my opinion Blade gave HHS something to think about and he won the job. Blade, if I am not mistaken, moved here to be closer to family. I think he left HHS because he had bigger goals in mind and because a lack of support. Thirty minute interviews drawing your favorite play against a fifty defense or your favorite wing t play I am not sure of. I personally have not been given a chance to interview yet.
  15. Fork are you saying Wall will not be the principal next year? Also, if college experience then I guess its either Parks or Curry. I'd go with Curry over parks but I think CR needs to go with someone not connected with CR at all. There are good assistants or other coaches in MNPS. I would look to neighbors like Peden or Bush at AHS, Thigpen from OHS, or Arnold from MHS.
  16. No way they hire from within for two reasons. One, there is no one on staff or even in the building that should even be given consideration. This should be a new hire to have a complete fresh start. Two, if they were going to hire from within then CR would already have their coach. There would be no need to conduct interviews. If they hire from within then they lose even more credibility because they will have wasted everyone's time.
  17. King they must have who they want or at least someone they can live with. I know of quality coaches that have shown interest and have not received any communication in return. Good luck to Stratford and whomever they chose. East Lit interviews next week. Who are the frontrunners and who are the long shots?
  18. Care to enlighten us with a name or initials or something.
  19. I would think the DL coach already on staff, JP Craig, maybe Moreno and Campbell would give it a shot. I heard over fifty applicants for East. Stratford has reopened the position for a second time. That means the position has been open for three different times now. They must not be getting what they want. I know at one point only four people had applied. What would it take to win at Stratford and how is the overall support there?
  20. If so then CR will continue to struggle. There needs to be a house cleaning here in my opinion. Bring in the Fork!
  21. Fork you have been hiding out for a while now. How about you go after CR? What's this tall grass and snake stuff?
  22. On one of the first pages of this thread I predicted six metro openings. We now have four out of the six. The two left are Hillwood and Overton. I think Bubba stays at Hillwood for another year. I still think Anderson leaves Overton if he can find an assistant position somewhere else. How about runtheball goes to Hillsboro to ruin Claytons big day and then he can bring Anderson for a Hillsboro reunion. So who are the frontrunners for Stratford (only four applicants), East Lit (over fifty applicants), CR, and Hillsboro?
  23. It will be hard for them to find a good coach if they do not allow that coach to bring in some help. You are right about CR having talent but it hasn't amounted to anything yet. I also agree about AHS. They actually have a principal with an athletic background! Thank you for the kind words. It's always good to know that someone appreciates what you are doing. I like doing what I do. I would like to move up at some point and think I could do a good job. At my level, the great thing is that the kids still appreciate the little things and still say thank you just for being their teacher/coach. I really enjoy teaching the fundamentals of football to my kids and I think that when my guys get to the next level they are well prepared. So do you miss it at all?
  24. I regret not having it all the time and will follow your advice. Should have done it a long time ago.
  25. Very true. However, if you have a good coach that already knows the kids then I would say it is an important factor.
