  1. No it's not from scratch. Blackman has one of the best if not the best youth programs in the state. The middle school team is always top 2 in the county. Talent has always been around the program. How long did it take Shad to win? How about Watson? Tygard knew talent was there and that he could attract more. Otherwise he would have never applied for the job. Ive heard nothing but good things about what he is doing but please dont act like he didnt walk into a great situation. When his worst problem is what a restroom looks like, I'm pretty sure he is ok.

  2. Goldenbears although I usually don't agree with you, it is good seeing you post again.

As for the thread, Hendersonville is always solid to good. You can usually count on six or more wins.

Blackman has the talent to be pretty good. Second year you would want to see improvement across the board, especially defensively. Haven't seen them yet but have heard it's moving in a positive direction.

  3. Since this is a metro thread I'll bring up how competitive LA was just a little before Dilfer. I remember a war between PC and LA. LA had several good games against EN too. And even before that LA had games against neighboring Overton.

  4. Here is the thing with EN, there is nowhere on campus to put another field without spending a ton of money which metro isn't going to do. Everyone knows it. It has been this way for many years. Why even bring it up. Bubba, Jim, and Brian all made it work.

I truly don’t know but it would not have been an educator.  As an entrepreneur I would search for someone that had several years of experience in sports business.  Another idea would be to see if there was an individual at one of the more successful state high school athletic associations around the country that was interested.  The idea of continuing to hire from within is the definition of insanity.

I agree with your second option. Not so much the first. Dealing with student athletes and schools is not for everyone. The second option would have been a good idea. Get someone proven to lead high school athletics. Wonder why they didn't try?

Why would the TSSAA get any better with Mark?  Again, nothing changes as you are replacing one former educator with another former educator and expecting them to operate a multi million dollar business with absolutely “ZERO “ business background.  Just look at the Board of Control and they have zero business background.  Typical bureaucratic operation.

So who would have been your choice?

  7. Younger, energetic guy getting his first start as a high school coach. Think Glencliff went a good direction here getting a younger guy that might spark a little excitement into the program. Personally, I think they should try their best to rebrand the program and start fresh. Wilson is a great administrator. Always hear positive comments.  I am sure he will be very supportive of the new coach. Good luck.

  8. Hearing the bears decided not to watch any law and order reruns. Heard it was never even on their program guides for the fall. However, im hearing an announcement will be made soon.

Also hearing the cliff has their new coach. Should be announced soon.

Good luck to both new coaches and programs.
