  1. that's what I heard, but it's not for sure yet either.
  2. Just got word that the game is cancelled! This game is going to have to be played though. I don't know when yet, but this game will determine seedings in the district
  3. Hopefully both of them won't be held in Dresden again!
  4. yea...forgot about B. Wright...sorry Legend, but he's the best post defender and his offense was better too. I went and saw him play against Bolivar at Oman Arena and he dominated during that game
  5. I will say his defense is the best part of his game. Yes, I know he's averaging 18 points/game, but he is 6'8"! That means that all he has to do is back down into the post, turn around from 3 feet and throw it at the goal. If he misses then he is able to get is own rebound because of his size, and put it back. I will go on to agree with you Legend that he is a best on the defensive end down low, but outside of the post he's not that great of a defender. If he had the athletic ability to guard PG's and SG's out on the perimeter, then I would definitely say that he is the best defender, that I know of, in TN history.
  6. Humboldt 87 Lake Co. 69 I expect more of the same looks from Lake Co. as last game on both ends of the floor just because they cannot take the risk of letting Avery get away from the basket. Avery is going to play the entire game again, and so will there PG Tyler. Bigster had made a comment earlier saying that they put in the big white guy a few games back, which he's been on their team for a while now and never got much playing time. If they throw him in there to help with size, it may help, but since he hasn't played much then I expect him to get in foul trouble early. I hate to say it, but Humboldt will start off in the press. It is our #1 defense! Yes, Lake Co. got a bunch of easy baskets last game from it, but Humboldt looked so lazy getting back after the press had been broken. This is going to be a statement game for both teams, but Humboldt comes out on top.
  7. Look under the District 14A Game Report topic...I posted it there
  8. 92-31 final Humboldt. I don't know what the stats were, but I was also told that Charles hurt himself during the game. He came down on his elbow, but the our trainer said that there's nothing wrong with it. Charles said that it is just sore. He's probably not going to start Friday night against Halls, which he may not even play because we probably won't need him especially with Lake Co. coming up next week.
  9. I heard a score from a source of mine for the Humboldt Gleason game tonight, which he told me that Humboldt has winning 40something to 9 @ half. I'll find out the final here soon.
  10. First Round: #1 Humboldt vs. #8 Henry Co. #2 Dyer Co. vs. #7 Central-Merry #3 Bolivar vs. #6 Northside #4 Liberty vs. #5 Lake Co. -If this tournament was to exist, it would have to be held in Oman Arena because there is no other gym around here that would hold all of the people that would come to the games. There would also be tons of college scouts at the games, too. I'm not sure who would win though because I've only seen Humboldt and Lake Co. play.
  11. I've been waiting on him to do that in games. Everytime I've played with him in the gym he shoots the 3 and makes them consistently!
  12. That's great....post it under a manassas topic
  13. Avery is taller than Tevin, but not Charles.
  14. I don't even think zone will work...
  15. I am friends with EJ and talk to him through texting and whenever he comes home. He red-shirted because of injuries and he was not going to get much playing time this past season because he was 3rd string TE. EJ is a great friend, person, and competitor. Now, back to basketball, this topic is for UC and Humboldt. The next time we'll meet up will be in District. Talk about that.
  16. He's probably still speechless about red's reply from earlier today lol
  17. Tevin and Charles are simply stating that it is their goal to win state this year. If Humboldt doesn't win state, then this year is a failure. Everyone is just reading too much into it. These 2 players are the leaders of this team and plan on leading them to a State Championship. No one wants to hear their leader say that they "hope they win." I'd rather hear my captain tell me that we are going to go and win the State Championship and nothing less is acceptable. I'm sure that the rest of the state has the exact same goals, but they have not been quoted in a newspaper saying that or posted on a chat board. "Attitude reflects leadership, captain." -Julius Campbell (Remember the Titans)
  18. Will you please come down from that cloud you are smoking on and join us. The 2006 UC team had Weddle, X, and MJ Brown. I'm glad that you are a great UC fan, but you have to be realistic about some things. Bringing up the past does not help your case at all, because of the fact that those 3 players above were legit. I understand that UC has played LC close twice, and lost to Humboldt by 13 this past game, but don't get so overhyped about a team that is young and mediocre. UC has many great years to come, but for right now, this is not the year. I will agree with you on that UC can upset one of us, but us or LC would have to have a bad night. This is a Humboldt vs. Lake Co. thread though, so bring this up under the District 14A topic.
  19. I hope Avery does get to play outside some because I want to see what he is like with the ball. It is hard for Whitby to allow him to do that against Humboldt though because he's basically the only one that can rebound against Humboldt's bigs.
  20. Bigster, here it is: -Humboldt's starters will be Quan, Rashad, Charles, Tevin, Dunbar. Bench players will be Guards: Joseph Gordon, Antonio Brooks, and Quentin Jennings. Post Players: Deandre Perry and Jarvis Porter. -Humboldt WILL press. I'm sure Coach B and the team went back and watched the film from the last game, and we realize now how fast your guards are. You will NOT get those easy 3 on 1 buckets as many times as you did last game. If you happen to break the press easily, then we will probably drop back to 1/2 court trap. -If you really think that Avery will score 30 points against us, think again. If you try to pick and roll with him, there will be another big man to step in front of him. -Humboldt will probably run the pick and roll again with Tevin and Charles, which worked tremendously against UC. Yes, Avery or a double team will be waiting in the lane, but that will lead to a kick out for 3 or they will try to draw contact. I'm sure Avery will get a few blocks in this game, and it won't surprise me either because I think defense is the best part of his game. -Oh, and yea......I pick Humboldt to win 78-63
  21. Free throw shooting was horendous. Humboldt came out lackadaisically at the beginning of the 2nd half and didn't really pick back up the intensity until late in the 3rd. Tevin had a great game, but we didn't play as many of our bench as I thought we would. Jarvis, Joseph, and Rashad (starter) didn't play much. If anybody was wondering what happened to Tevin at the end of the game, he just got a cramp. I saw them stretching him out beside the bleachers so no worry. If Clemson was there, this was the best game for him to be at to see how athletic Tevin is. Charles had an all right game, but not as good as Tevin.
  22. If Sisco Sr. came to Humboldt, and we played UC with Sisco Jr...I would have to take Humboldt by 20! With any team UC wants to throw at us!
  23. I still think he is our best ball handler. Quan was the one who made all of the turnovers against Lake Co, which is the best team we've played this year.
  24. The best thing to do with Legend is ignore him
