Not sure what you are trying to say with the hmmmmmmmmmm? Is the previous year's record of your opponents in a preseason play day relevant somehow? If I had to guess, I would think that East had no more than 2 starters present (Horner & Wilmoth) and the one game that West lost, they played 4 freshmen. Pretty tough to get a handle on things based on a preseason play-day. Should be an interesting year - East has to be the pre-season favorite and I think you're looking at an all-out brawl for second with several teams in the mix. I also know that things don't always play out the way they are "pre-destined". Last year was certainly one of those times. In the pre-season, everyone on here pretty much agreed that Cherokee was the team to beat and they were, but strange things happened and East won the District 2 tournament over West and then West (who happened to finish 4th in the district during regular season) knocked off East for the Region 1 title. That's why we line up & play 'em. It should be fun - it usually is in the IMAC. Welcome to all the newcomers - see you at the ball park. Let's play ball!

You can't seriously think the comment I made was insinuating anything about Coach Holly. Merely commenting on the multi-sport talent of an outstanding young athlete.

I with Solomon on this one. I always cringe when I hear a coach whine about someone running up the score on them. While I would never intentionally run the score up on anyone and I have more than once done just as mentioned in this thread and instructed runners to step off the bag early (after telling the ump to look for it), I have never complained about another coach running it up on a team I coached. I might make a mental note of it and use it as motivation for myself and my players, but I always figured the other team isn't responsible for stopping themselves - it's my job and my team's job to STOP them.

If they're smart, they'll find a way to get her butt out on the softball field.

Congratulations to the Lady Canes on a well-earned District Championship! Let's see if we can meet up again Tuesday night at your place for the Region Championship! I've got numbers for you - East - West have met 4 times this year and the total difference in runs scored is 1 run. East has scored 1 more than West has. One more, by my count, over the last 4 years West's record vs. East = 7-7. How's that for a home-town rivalry? It's been fun - good luck to all.

I think the rumor is probably pretty accurate for the most part - at least as to what they were told - not sure about the 2 innings part - now as to what they knew, who knows, but i don't think either coach knew the rule or realized that they couldn't negotiate the rule

groooaaan! I think we'll play (that is if it stops raining - for 2 hours now radar shows nothing, yet it's still raining). Helicopters have been seen hovering over JC Wild Softbll Park all morning.

How many teams have you seen that won that many championships have a catcher who wasn't outstanding? The catcher is such a vital part of the team in that they handle the ball many more times than anyone else on the field (other than the pitcher of course.) I would venture to say it would be nearly impossible to win those kinds of championships without a top-notch catcher. So, I think it DOES say a lot about your catcher as an individual player when you talk about how well her teams have performed.
