    Soddy Daisy

Very, very true,,, And let's not get all mad now Soddy because I know you guys worked so hard for this... but let's not overlook the fact of how hard the Bears worked on getting about four or five of their less experienced kids ready to fill some big shoes and score some points to keep it close (much closer than I thought it would be) ...after the big set back last year, I am very impressed!! Would you believe that Soddy may have lost both the duals and individuals this year,,, if the Bears would have had their full line up they lost after years of devotion and raised via their feeder? BTW - congrats on that fine young man at 152 for finally getting his gold... I know it was sweet even for his ol' grouchy dad Justin beat a very good wrestler soundly!! Congrats to both of these D-1 powers of Chattanooga area wrestling. My Chattanooga ranking should all teams compete today: 1) Soddy 2) Baylor 3) Bradley 4) McCallie 5) Ooltewah ... with the Irish right on their heels. Luther, keep your overall rankings going!!
  3. 5 of the top 10 ...and 4 of the top 6 ain't' bad!! Way to go Josh Peck with your up coming team; and keep growing that Tullahoma program (an amazing top 6 in duals and now top 10 indiv.) Miller/Lester and crew!! I know Jordan's not giving up on a big come back for a championship again with some of the boys he's developing, including Hayden J.!! Middle's exploding with talent!!!! Can anyone think of a time when Mid-TN had more teams in the top ten than the Chattanooga area?
  4. I just got off the phone with the program director of Fox 17 in Nashville. He was very interested in doing this, but no one has been in contact with him in the past. Only the TSSAA has made contact on other events such as b-ball and F-ball. He did ask who was the producer and I mentioned it was our Bradley friends there in Cleveland and he asked for more info. I mentioned Mike Creagan. Perhaps he would like to strike up a deal in this market?? soms His first name is Lee and his number is 615-369-5543 if anyone would like to contact him and even push for a rebroadcast.
  5. Personally, I would favor Bradley because of what they did to reload after the setbacks of Mang, Sivley and others. To put underclassmen like Biddy, Graham and Pavlou and limited varsity with Watson and do what they have done this year tells me something. No doubt who would get coach of the year!!
  6. I witnessed the movement and I saw where there was complete support for it and it would be brought before the TSSAA for consideration. Not sure where it went from there.
  7. Way to go Miller and crew at Tullahoma. You had a fairly balanced dual team and now this? They and Josh Peck's Ravenwood are both raising up for the big dance too!!
  8. Bray, once again I heard from another dad or two recently where you came up and added support and observations where it may have helped another boy on the mat and in life. I've been hearing and witnessing these things for years now and that's why I mentioned your name as "an up and coming" for this growing list.
  9. Hmmm, I don't remember anyone quite like this at the '79 Hixson graduation... Maybe Soddy's or Ooltewah's?
  10. I never would have thought.... CH over McEachern this far into the tournament? I see why your posting this info.

Sure hope Josh recovers well and gets back to his 110%. He'll be even more hungry next season!!
  12. or treat the wrestling community to at least a dual and an individual tournament during regular season like most d-1 and d-2 schools do. What a treat it was as certain pro-teams in various sports would choose to get league officials to allow for regular season, post season, or at least pre-season competitions over the years ...primarily for the fan and even for themselves as a measuring stick of their strength and the extra revenue. Maybe TV would pick up some of these historic matches, should a little pow-wow occur and something was set up for next season.
  13. You called about 20 matches of mine from 73-79!! My next borther remmber s you well in the 70's - 80's,,, my next youngest ten years later, my oldest son in the 90's and my next oldest son in the past five years. I know Elsie is right on his heels!!

He is looking like the stud of the tournament so far and may not allow any slip ups again!!
  15. The imbalance of wrestling maturity is not there yet throughout our state. It's so hard to balance each quadrant, i.e., Chattanooga vs upper east or middle TN vs west ect. A sectional tournament may be the easiest way to come up with a cream of the crop balance,,, like NY state.
  16. He pursued other interests...
  17. BUMP - In the name of forgiveness - Mang for some rule violations, and now team acceptance after a time of Bear wrestling penalty of competition,,, and how about some others too? Could the timing be good now for others too? Why not have that pow-wow? What would it hurt? This may allow for some savings to the Bear Nation in searching out the strongest competition, as BB has suggested that funding can sometimes have an impact on whether the Bears travel to another tournament somewhere far off. We'd love ya for it brother Steve!! Note: Maybe BCB can bring his camera to keep it a neutral shoot at a neutral site and a former D-2 guy.
  18. Very fair from a very good source. Now, IMHO- seriously now,,,,, why not encourge another meeting of "letting go of the past" and considering a second chance of,,,, after many year's of punishment TO ME AND 1000's OF OTHERS, allowing the competition between all schools and Bradley resume? Maybe you arrange a more neutral venue for talks, with a buffet on hand, with at least three coaches present to discuss the past and potential future? You could even be there with video on hand for Dean, Scott, or whomever to load up on their website should a historic anouncement develop for all of us to witness. Not sure how many TV stations would come other than 3, 9, 12 and 61? My hopes arethat we can enjoy ALL that TN WRESTLING has to offer after some reconsideration and forgiveness. Personally I'm happy for David &his family and I'm glad that TN wrestling is not deprived of seeing hiim on the mat again... HERE with our TN wrestling family... even with our family feuds that keep brewing. Perhaps we can have one of those feuds put to rest soon and move on with growing our great sport in TN without any limitations. The Soms
  19. call me brad... I'm in East Tn right now so you'll need to call my cell.
  20. hey Bray... you did miss one or two... YOU and somee fella that helped bring Franklin to it's greatness in the 90's and now made Dickson a hot spot in recent years... any guesses? Let's not forget what Lester has begun and continues to build with Miller. Watch out for Hamm and what's coming his way the next several years. He, like Weathers, may have another Ooltewah around the corner
  21. the reel issew hear is weather too use their or there or too verses to. maybe I should defer to the BRB As our menter or Mosis thru the dessert of speach.
  22. Networking is what it's all about!!
  23. How many within our statewide (or beyond) wrestling family is associated or knows someone who would put their advertsing dollars into this pub?
  24. What's your thoughts now,,,, good man from Cleveland and certainly no bully, at least on the boards since March '06, until today.
