The Knoxville Thunder 18U is looking for a pitcher to go to the Hot Times College Exposure 18U softball tournament July 10-13 in Florence SC. Due to injuries and other circumstances, we are in need of a pitcher. Please send contact info to toto0913@aol.com. The player cannot have played at any college level this past year and must be at least a 2008 or later graduate. Thanks

My daughter has had the pleasure of being taught slapping by Sarah Fekete and it has made a world of difference in her game. Sarah is an excellent teacher and has the skills as well as the teaching ability to make any hitter into a great hitter. My daughter will be attending ETSU in the fall on a softball scholarship and we thank Sarah for being a big part of that.

Is anyone going to post the schedule for this tournament or is there a website?

I think too that if the high school coach's would work with the travel ball coach's the teams would be much better developed and the level of high school play would improve. My husband has coached travel ball for many years and is more than willing to help the high school girls but the coach's ego is always too big and they refuse to get anyone else involved. Some of the players in high school can't always play travel ball but do have potential to be good players with some additional instruction that the high school coach doesn't always have time for. Just my opinion..

They are calling for rain on Saturday......is Sunday the rain date or will you just call it off? Seems like the last few years have been tough weather wise for this tournament. Always a good tournament!

Well said. I agree, if you want to go on and play at that next level you need to get exposed during summer ball and it is not about ego's. It is about getting a higher education and having some help paying for it by doing something you are good at and love. Very few high school coaches even offer to help, at least around the Knoxville area. I wish you luck this summer and will probably see you at some of the tournaments you listed.

Rumors tend to be just that rumors. Don't believe everything you hear.

Did I miss something? I haven't seen anything mentioned about All district??? I am sure Halls will win their share of games but when it comes down to winning the district that is where I think they will fall short.

I agree with Powellsoftball, any team who can stay in it until the 5th has a chance. We will watch over the next few weeks, I think I saw where Halls plays Central this week and Powell on 4/4 then we can see if they are as good as they all think.

Good thing I have a great sense of humor! We are just trying to jolt you into reality because you are living in a fantasy world and again I know for a fact you are a parent of a freshman. Live and learn!
