  1. Yeah, Nator it's pretty shocking that Hooper or someone else from East isn't on here trash talkin n runnin their mouths.. The thing is, I'm not surprised by our team beating theirs, even if they would have blown us out by 50 last year. We're not just a joke school in any sport. We're capable of blowing anyone outta the water at anytime. People just haven't taken enough time to realize that, and that's pretty sad. So how bout that, WHH beats East 6-0. 1A school over 2A. We talk about it all the time. I know this was just a jamboree, but a win is a win, don't matter how ya get it. Good luck to East this year, Goodpasture will prolly roll all over them like they do everyone but Alcoa. As for WHH, I'm lookin forward to the home game. Go Pats!
  2. I think there could be alot of reconstructing the districts. Our baseball district (10A) is probably considered decent compared to most but we still go at least 2 hours for a couple district games. We do have East Rob., Jo Byrns & WHH right in each other's neighborhoods connected by one or two main roads but Houston Co. & McEwen are little out there. East Lit. & NCS aren't bad drives but I agree that it could be re-done, not just in A but in all classes. Our football district games include Eagleville, Forrest & Cascade, all of which are 1.5 hours at least. The distance has alot of downfalls to it. Some parents can't make their kids games because they can't get off early enough to drive for 2 or 3 hours to go watch them play. I'm sure it's not just like this in our district, but that's just my opinion.
  3. So, Hoop, did yall impress the scouts enough to get them to come watch yall play us next year?? lol. It sounds like he's amazing, but I didn't know he was left-handed. That does make it alot harder to hit, especially if he's got a good changeup. I really wish I coulda come down there to watch that game. Do you have a summer ball team that has an opening on it? I need somewhere to play n haven't found a spot yet. Let me know if you do or hear about something somewhere around here.
  4. Hoop, that must have been a tough game yesterday. Sorry yall's season had to come to an end, but yall did put it together there at the end. You proved to be tougher than you were at the beginning of the year. What I really wanna know is, was Minor really as good as everyone has said he is? I mean a no-hitter & 20 K's sounds amazing but I wanna hear what you have to say about him.
  5. Hoop, yall have come a LONG way this year. You didn't start out on top of things and at one point yall were run-ruled in 4 straight. And I know how that feels, trust me. I really want to see yall go down there and play well, and I know you're capable of doing it. Minor may be an All-American and I know I said earlier not many people have a chance at stopping Forrest this year. Minor isn't their only player though. Skelley is just as capable of shutting someone down as Minor is, and their bats are good this year. Pitching isn't the only thing that brings a high school team to a 28-5 record. Hoop, I wish yall the best of luck down there, and it would be a shocking upset to everyone if you pull this out.
  6. I hate to say this, but our district has been too faulty at times to even think of having a shot at Minor and the rest of the Forrest team. It's not very often you come across someone who has thrown 4 no hitters in one season and also set the STATE record for K's in a game w/21 while facing 24 hitters. It's just not normal. He's also signed to go to Vanderbilt with other star players in the state such as Caleb Cotham (Mt. Juliet) and Kyler Burke (Ooltewah). All I can say is good luck to whoever has to face Minor and Forrest b/c they are the team to beat in A baseball this year.
  7. I know the game times are 10 AM, 1, 4, & 7 PM if things go well. Our game vs. NCS is @ 7 but that's the only game I know a for sure time on. I do know that if rain pushes us back, we will play sometime sunday afternoon so that it doesn't interfere w/church times. Good luck to everyone this weekend.
  8. Hoop, I was talking about the Station Camp game. It's supposed to rain starting tomorrow and last off/on thru tuesday, so who knows what will happen. We played McEwen yesterday in McEwen. We beat them in 15-4 in 5 innings. I hit one out off the top of the scoreboard. Hill pitched pretty well too. Our bats have come around lately, but we have just been out-hit by our opponents (CA, Jo Byrns & Houston Co. in particular). I'm lookin forward to districts next week. Anything is possible. Good luck.
  9. It's gonna be monday and more than likely @ 4pm.
  10. We're playin Clarksville Academy. Our game with Station Camp scheduled for today was moved to monday or tuesday of next week.
  11. Thanks for the props. We played a tight game to say the least. The last couple innings were the most exciting by far. NCS is a good team. We have Jo Byrns wed., either Station Camp or CA on thursday, depending on when we have to make up the CA game rained out from 4-20, and friday we have to go to McEwen. Hill pitched a great game yesterday. Tournaments are only a couple weeks away, but don't count anyone out once it starts. The only thing for sure once tournament starts are the seeds we all get. Whatever happens may surprise all of us.
  12. Hoop, you pitched a great game. You and Jared both did. I understand how you feel. That's the way I've felt most of this year w/exception of very few games. Today was one of those games that came down to that one little play. It could have gone either way at that point. We played a low-scoring, tight defense, hard nose baseball game. Neither of us hit the ball very well, but sometimes that's just how it goes. Hats off to yall and good luck the rest of the way. By the way, for those of you wondering, the score posted about the CA game is backwards. We played them tight for about 4 innings and then we let it get away from us. We have East Lit. tomorrow. How have they been playing lately?
  13. Houston Co. is decent. They're not as good as they were last year. They lost a few. They still have that young lefty that's pretty good. We held them pretty close until the 7th when things got a little crazy. I think it was tied goin into the 7th 2-2 n they ended up beating us 6-3. They hit the ball well against Kenwood in the Springfield Tourney but that's the only time I've seen them be really dominate.
  14. The first HR wasn't hit in the first, it was in the 2nd after I struck out. My HR came in the third, but the HR's don't really matter much when you lose the game. We played yall tough and yall are a very good hitting team. Both of your HR's came on pitches that should have been on the outside corner but ran in to the middle of the plate, but I don't take any credit away from you, you tagged those pretty well. Hill didn't play last year, and he has pitched well this year considering not playing. It's gonna take him some time to get his arm strength back to 100% but don't count us out of this by any means.
  15. Yeah, we played Houston Co. tight. They're a beatable ball team. We actually led in that game until the 6th inning. I don't wanna go bashing umpires but he did go very inconsistent in the last 2 innings. We outplayed them. Anyone there will tell you that regardless of the final score. I know we haven't been very impressive yet but we're coming around. Next time you see us, we'll be a much different ball team. As far as Houston Co. goes, we had a right-handed freshman pitch against us n he was alright. Nothing amazing. I know they have that one decent lefty but like I said before, they're a beatable ball team, regardless of the 11-0 rout of Kenwood.
  16. I agree totally. We got to see them this weekend too and they're very solid. They slaughtered Kenwood but then their next two games against Springfield and Northeast, they were shut down. Northeast beat them 14-1 and Springfield beat them by a decent score, not sure exactly what it was. We play them on wednesday this week. It'll be a tough game.
  17. The Yellow Jacket Classic starts tomorrow. I know we're playing S-field, Kenwood, and Cheatham County on Saturday. Do any of you know anything about these teams??
