Just a suggestion...play every minute like it's the last 20. If you start out intense and play hard all the way thru you should get some benefit from short games. It's a bit like a miler saying what good is a 100 yd sprint...the answer is not very good if you run it at a miler's pace. Adapt to your circumstances, adjust to your surroundings, and make every minute you play the best you can.

That's a simplistic answer...weak schedule or not they have to play all the teams in the district. However, you're probably right...are the 2 losses you mention Shelbyville and Tullahoma? If so they'll still be 3rd in the district. Not bad for a weak team huh?

Sportsmanship can be demonstrated (or not) at the highest levels of competition. It is a player's personal choice to carry himself more like basketball's Dennis Rodman, or like Michael Jordon. He can choose his behavior, but cannot choose the coaches' reaction to it. Gordon may have deserved MVP, but the votes that count didn't think so. There must be a reason...

If the goal was called back - he didn't really score did he? And if determining MVP was only a matter of counting goals, there wouldn't need to be a vote. Gordon may have had enough talent to be MVP, but there is more to MVP than number of goals or raw talent. I understand that Lance had 3 or 4 hat tricks this season, so I wouldn't think the number of goals is that much different between the two. Maybe the lesson here is - if you think you're in the running for district MVP, show respect to the district teams you play. Not a bad idea regardless of your skill level.

It's great to see a team with class upset the district favorite. I guess the "should be" MVP wasn't able to pull this one out. Great job Tullahoma!

MVP vote goes for best all around including talent, attitude, character...being strong in only one of these areas isn't enough.

Anyone hear score and/or details about the Tullahoma vs. Shelbyville game?

Anyone have a score on the Shelbyville v. Lawrence Co. game? Any details? Haven't heard much from Shelbyville this year.

I'm gonna go positive on you & say the Tullahoma players & coach are always very good sports, and show lots of class. Teams with attitudes like theirs make the game so much more enjoyable.

Has anyone seen Tullahoma play this year? They're coming off a near perfect season last year - but lost to Independence. Any opinions?
