it might go to chandler farmer from indy... he has eleven shutouts this year, and alot of that is because of him, not just because of a good defense.... jordan leedle is great, no doubt, but he hasn't had as many shots to save as chandler... no knock on indy's defenders, though, because they're really solid back there.
three of the top eight teams in AAA are in district eleven (bwood, indy, rwood), bearden is number one, but farragut is down, and south doyle and maryville are only solid, not great.
if i am not mistaken, i believe columbia academy's field is an amazon moss/monkey grass hybrid with a 12.5 to 1 ratio... the secret behind their nice field is the soil, though... it's straight out of the indian rainforest, and has plenty of nutrients from the dead sloths that have fertilized it.
what happened, if i had made a prediction for this game, i would have said brentwood 4, overton 0. did bwood just have an off game or did overton step up or what?
y'all played a good game, and we played a bad one, so we deserved to lose... but i think the fact that we had an off game was taken into consideration when these rankings were posted.
funny how you lose the game and THEN the excuses start flying.... "well, coach was out of town...", "tyson was sick..."... whatever, you were off by six on your prediction. and centennial had one ball go off the post the whole game, not "some". chs really didn't have a whole lot of chances to score, and if we (indy) had executed better it would have been 5-0.
independence might not have beaten centennial yet, but centennial hasn't had to play independence without dc, jason sparks, and harrison cheatham yet either... this is an entirely different centennial team than the one they fielded last year, and the fact that indy hasn't beaten them yet means absolutely nothing. seing as how i play for independence, i'm going to shy away from making a prediction.
I think independence is more talented, but when these two teams get together (in football, basketball, soccer, girls' golf, anything), it always comes down to who makes the fewest mistakes, and a little luck. Any predictions?
our (independence's) biggest rival is probably franklin, cuz we beat them once (3-1), tied them once (3-3) and lost to them once (1-3) last season... centennial is close behind...
i'll switch it up on you guys and go with franklin 1-0, off a cross from tyler moon and finish with the head from derek batt in the 73rd minute (with about 6 minutes left to go.)
