The whole bracket is weak.  TSSAA adding a 4th classification in basketball is laughable.  Covid killed public school basketball in Memphis - Houston hasn't been there in like 60 years.

Congrats, you beat Centennial.   Nobody cares.

Plus 30 other teams.. apparently, you care because you put your two cents in a conversation that wasn’t applying to you.

Memphis Houston??? Didn’t they win 2 years ago when Mike Miller was the coach?

    Indy got beat 20 by the D2-A champ.......they aren't winning 4A.

While you’re checking wins and losses, please refer to the team that is picked over Indy and tell me what happened between their common opponent. (Centennial)…They will make it farther than you’re giving them credit for.

    Overton over McMinn

    Hillsboro over Sevier

    Blackman over Independence

East vs DB is a tough one for me. DB probably has the better single player in Oliver, but East has a ton of length and aggressiveness.

My gut says East, but it would not surprise me one bit to see DB light it up. This could be the State Championship before the Championship game.

    Keep sleeping on Indy…

Tough first game for ER one of the only teams more athletic than them. I’ve got Middleton by 8 I believe Robinson is going to put on a show and will be noticeably the best player on the court . ER did not impress me against Pickett or VB and their guards will have to play a near perfect game to stay in this one.

How did Robinson play versus BTW last night?

Let me be crystal clear. Nothing you said “made” me do anything. I’m responsible for my actions. However when you decided to make a political statement that opened the door for me to comment in kind.  I stand by what I said. No county that voted for this White House would like my views so me running for a political office there, would be futile. How about all of us people that actually work for a living have a show of hands if we like paying 4.25 a gallon at the gas pump!  Back to the topic!  If T$$AA is going to have any credibility at all they will strip East of every title they won under Hardaway. He cheated the entire time he was there. I WILL agree he didn’t bring Wiseman to Memphis to win a state title. It was as you stated to parlay that into the U of M job.

Did Shelby County vote for the current White House?

In 2016, running against Hillary Clinton, Trump received 72 percent of the county’s vote, and that number held true four years later in his bid for reelection.

Taking on former Vice President Joe Biden, Trump received 69.41 percent of the vote, or 79,428 votes, while Biden received 28.87 percent, or 33,036 votes.

I haven't see East Nashville but hear a ton of great things.

I have seen Bolivar though - I think they may have the athletes to run with East Nashville but again, I haven't seen East Nashville.

I also watched Milan a couple of times this year. No depth but their top 5 are athletic and can also shoot it.

Bolivar have some really good guards that can shoot the ball well.  They will be tough to beat.  It will take a well discipline team that can shoot the ball from the outside to beat Bolivar.

Bartlett and East are not similar. Bartlett deeper and more talented and longer than East. East was young this year and not very deep only going about 6 sometimes 7 deep. Bartlett can go 10-12 deep and can throw, 6'8, 6'5, 6'6, 6'6 and 6'10 at you if Javar Daniels is good to go. The difference between them and East was depth and experience. Jacobs is pretty good at the pg for them, they have shooting with Regale Moore and Charvez Ambrose and defensively, they can pressure you and if you wanna get  into an up and down game, they can do that too. I like the Eli Rice kid from Beech but unless he goes crazy, like 30-40, I think Bartlett wins that game by double digits.

Facts. Many posters don't have a clue about Barlett. This team is the real deal coming out of Memphis.

Dobyns-Bennett. -  Coffee Co. gets a fairly good draw in game one and will fight hard until the buzzer sounds. They simply won't have enough against DB, as they (DB) win by somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 points.

Bartlett-  Beech has had a tremendous season and will give Bartlett a good run up and down the floor, and yes, this should be a track meet. Knox and company get it done in a high scoring thriller. Game total around 145 for this game.

Cane Ridge-  This may be the Ravens toughest test. Bearden is well coached and will have a scheme for Brandon Miller and the Ravens offense. They should take one out of Walker Valley's playbook last night and play a box and 1, sag the box, and force the other 4 to shoot threes. However, all that and more wouldn't stop Brandon Miller from leading his team to the semi-finals. NBA caliber three level scorer.

Clarksville- This will be the most interesting game of the day in AAAA. I fear Lebanon falls into a 3 point shooting contest that results in an L for them. They (Lebanon) must be relentless attacking the rim and crash the offensive glass to advance to the semis.

If Beech runs with Barlett, the game will be over before the second quarter starts.  Bartlett is not your typical Memphis team that plays unorganized.  This team beats you in all facets.  Research their schedule if you're not familiar with them.

    I’ll take:

DB. Coffee County plays hard but think they will just have a hard time slowing DB down will be a close one.

Beech. Although I’d say alot of ppl like Bartlett and Amarr Knox and he’s a great player I just wasn’t impressed much by Memphis East a very similar team like I thought I would be and it swayed my pick from a coin flip.  Knox and JR Jacobs are great players for Bartlett I just think Beech seems stronger, bigger and more physical compared to a mostly wirey, quick team in Bartlett. My favorite matchup in 4A. How the officials call the game either tight or let em play will be a big factor as well

Cane Ridge. Hoping Bearden actually gives them a tough game. Brandon Miller and the boys are just so athletic and skilled they almost play at a different level than anybody in the state.

Lebanon. I think Jarred Hall 6’8” and Yarin Alexander 6’6” are as athletic and big as anybody ive seen this year I think they give clarksville fits with their size and ability to cover so much hardwood on defense. Clarksville has to be feeling great after big win over Memphis East but will need a huge game from JJ Wheat to win this one. 2nd favorite Matchup in 4A.

Atleast 2 of the 4 games will be very close. Gonna be a great day of basketball for the first round of 4A state tourney play in the Boro. Hope alot of ppl can make it out to watch some high level ball

Research Barlett's schedule and you'll see what they're all about.  It is by far the toughest schedule in Tn with games against national powerhouses.  East is not good comparison.

Clay County has the best player in the entire state in Class A and one of the best in all classifications in the returning Mr Basketball/Player of the Year Grant Strong. They have a great returning squad but they are not the favorites. Whatever teams come out of Memphis are the favorites and always will be. Heck they had kids playing in the state tournament that didn’t even play on the district tournament team!  How can anyone compete with that kind of cheating? And it IS cheating don’t care what anyone says. Now since most all of the kids in the democratic run city of Memphis were made to sit out an entire season they can all move freely to whichever school they choose to. Look for a lot of 19+ year olds playing in Memphis this year. T$$AA won’t say a word either they are too scared.

With the pandemic going on worldwide, you are still full of negativity energy when it come from any kid out of Memphis.  With all due respect, you really have a lot of venomous hate toward Memphis kids.  You have a book load of allegations without a single shred of proof.  19+ year old kids??? Are you serious?  Fake News

Well, with almost two times the population of the greater metro Knoxville area you would expect they could field more quality 10-12 man rosters that make up a quality basketball team. However, that does beg the question as to why they can't field more quality 60-80 man rosters to field quality football teams. The football there is putrid. I will give them credit on the basketball though, they got it going on in Memphis.

The answer to your statement above is due to the fact that the basketball coaches not encouraging their player to play football in addition to basketball.  Unfortunately, some Memphis coaches discourages them from playing football in fear of them getting hurt.  Furthermore, AAU has taken that opportunity away from dual sport athletes.
