  1. Home playoff game on the line. Hope the weather cooperates. Forecast says low of 35 with 9mph winds. Get ready to freeze y'alls buns off.
  2. I heard that when he was the principal of that middle school in the "not so good" part of LaVergne, the place was so clean, you could eat off the floor while the principal of LHS was letting the high school turn into a big chaotic pile of crappola. LHS lost a ton of football games under the previous principal... why was there not complaining over that back then? They even had terrible seasons under Will Hester as coach and it's probably well understood that Hester knows what he's doing.
  3. These games have been moved to Thursday night due to expected bad weather Friday night. Go support the kids. Unless you have Preds tickets. But you can always sell those.
  4. There's not one other person who keeps up those four teams? This thread is like a ghost town. Let's bring in cousin Bubba-Goober from east TN to get people interested. I here tale lou-vern gots to play sue-myrna reel soon like. Don't sleep on that there lou-vern. but don't sleep on that there sure-myrna eether. Meen wall down the street overtun visits stew-ee who well bee a cleer fave-rot in that there game. There mite be a runnin' clock witch is ok bee-caws with them there high-fal-ootin digit-ul clocks eye no whut time it is. Never did lern to tell time on won of them regular clocks wear the little fangers point at the numburs.
  5. LHS has managed to pull a loss from the teeth of victory before in that rivalry. I've seen it happen at least twice. One of those, they clearly had the better team. I think LHS actually might win this one after the horrendous loss to McGavock. Just a hunch.
  6. They did make a remark about it taking an 18 wheeler to bring Stewie's band gear but that may be more of a compliment than a gripe. There as a time when Blackman and Siegel had huge bands (maybe still do, I'm not sure) and between like ten and 14 years ago, LaVergne actually was doing some big impressive halftime shows and winning some band competitions (Nightmare Before Christmas and Wicked were really cool shows). Due to extremes in the weather (98 degrees in early October and now sometimes in the 30's at night) it's harder to go than it used to be, so I miss seeing some of the local bands as well as their teams. When your kids grow up and are no longer playing ball or marching, you just don't feel as motivated to go every Friday night.
  7. Just when LHS looked like a playoff team, they lose to winless McGavock. What's that all about?? McGavock was coming off a 50-3 loss. They do have a chance at redemption vs local rival Smyrna. Before the McGavock loss, it looked like LHS would be favored in that game. Now, I'm not so sure. But if LaVergne does beat Smyrna, Stewie has a good chance to virtually wrap up the #2 seed and a home playoff game vs Overton on senior night.
  8. I am listening right now. Stewie with a 50 yard TD on the 3rd play of the game for a 7-0 lead. The broadcast is pretty good. The quality of the live streaming is good. Reminds me of the WGNS high school broadcasts out of Murfreesboro. UPDATE: Creek up 14-0 at the half on a 90 yard pass play.
  9. Two above .500 teams. Common opponent: LaVergne; both teams won Should be a competitive game.
  10. No. Why would they if they are zoned for a good relatively new school like Stewarts Creek or a school that has produced tons of national merit semifinalists and finalists like Siegel or could attend a top rated magnet school like Murf. Central Magnet or take International Baccalaureate level classes at Oakland?
  11. That sounds right or at least it used to be that way and it's very wrong and unfair for metro to ship their worst delinquent thugs to LHS. I'm not sure who it was at RCS that agreed to such an arrangement, but if it's still in place, it needs to end. Let metro deal with their own. How long do you think Hendersonville or Mt. Juliet would accept a deal like that?
  12. BREAKING: Stewie ranked #10 in the state in 6a. A historic first for the school.
  13. Sonny Moore's ranking says Indy 6 points better on a neutral field but that does not factor in the most recent games which were a Stewie win and Indy loss. Not that blowing out McGavock will move the needle a bunch. Still close to a pick 'em. I think Cane Ridge will certainly advance and that LaVergne and/or Smyrna would get eliminated by Ravenwood and/or Brentwood.
  14. If Cane Ridge and Stewie finish 1 & 2...which looks possible... how would that end up in the playoffs? Just for kicks, let's says Smyrna gets 3 and LaVergne gets 4... Would LaVergne and/or Smyrna have to go on the road to Brentwood and/or Ravenwood, then CR and Stewie get home games against Indy and/or whoever? And who from Williamson is probably going to get the last spot?
  15. Amari Jelks and Savion Davis at Stewarts Creek are pretty good. Jelks is already over 1,000 yards.
  16. (Name of private school here) can only offer so many "bus driving" jobs to dads of players.
  17. When Nolensville moves up to 6a they should be in with LaVergne, Stewie, Smyrna plus maybe Antioch and Cane Ridge. That would make sense geographically. For all sports. Neighborhood rivalries draw fans and fans at games = $$$ for the schools. According to google maps, it's an eleven minute drive from Nolensville High to Stewie. (it's a 33 minute drive from Stewie to McGavock for example, 29 from Smyrna to Overton)
  18. Lancaster and Lighthouse and some others are playing 8 on 8? Is this right? https://www.unapproved website.com/division/tn/Bs2nX-gp70idfj2iyuPehQ/football-fall-19/standings-class-8-man.htm
  19. Has LaVergne said anything about the (name of private school here)'s shuttle bus that picks up and drops off a load of athletes over by Mapco/former Fat Mo's everyday? At least that is what I was told goes on.
  20. https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/10/01/tennessee-high-school-football-tssaa-glencliff-colts-shut-down-program/3836326002/ Future of the program up in the air according to the article. Teams to be missing a game now this season: Hillwood Nolensville Hunters Lane Gallatin
  21. No reply? Let's have cousin cletus from east TN do his version. Ok yall. Stu-E done beat lou-vern and stay-shun camp sew now they go two that there mack gavuck. Mack gavuck is rightly near that there wave pool near mack gavuck pike. Theirs a mack donalds on that there street. But they stopped having them there mack ribs. They still have mack nooguts.
  22. Is that a prediction? BTW, is Stewie's 1st string QB injured? They had a different QB going vs Camp. Not that it mattered.
  23. I saw a game at McGavock a couple of years ago (homecoming?) and they had the Prince's hot chicken food truck. Major yum!! Anybody know if that was a fluke occurrence or does it happen often? Can Stewie make it 6-1 and stay in 2nd place? FEAR THE BEAK
  24. So I found the game on radio (Live steaming) on a station called "WHIN" presumably out of Gallatin. It was the worst broadcast I've ever heard. Apparently they never bothered to get a roster for Stewarts Creek and never named a single player all game. Not even once. As if they didn't have names. Constantly referring to them generically with things like "that running back" or "that defensive back." It would be unfair to expect a Friday night football radio broadcast from a small town to sound like Al Michaels and Bob Costas, but that was ridiculous. They need to listen to WGNS on a Friday night to see how it is SUPPOSED to be done. (you name players from BOTH teams, you say the score once in a while, you give scores from around the area, etc)
  25. Will Hester is a good coach and lost lots games there. I think he went 1-9 one year, so... But anyway, any predictions on the battle of the SCHS's score for tonight?
