  1. GREAT THAT YOU WATCHED THEM ALL AT STATE, THEN YOU REALIZE THE GLORY DID NOT MAKE IT OUT. WHETHER IT BE BY NUMBERS OR FATE, THE LADIES WERE 2ND, THE MEMPHIS ELITE 3RD AND THOSE LITTLE XTREME WERE 4TH. IF YOU WERE AT STATE YOU HAD TO NOTICE THAT THE XTREME ONLY 7 PLAYERS THAT COULD PLAY DUE TO ILLNESS . THE TN LADIES BEAT THE PRIDE TEAM. I SUGGEST WE TAKE THE TOP FOUR IN STATE AND HAVE THEM PLAY AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STATE LET THE BEST GIRL WIN AND LEAVE IT AT THAT. NOW, THAT WOULD EXCLUDE THE MEMPHIS GLORY BECAUSE ON PAPER THEY DID NOT MAKE IT. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.
  2. I think that 10U did not have any clear cut winners. Everybody lost at least once and with the help of the REFEREE in some cases one team got futher than they should have. I still believe the the top teams SHOULD have been..: 1. Team Pride 2.TN Ladies 3.TN Xtreme--vs Memphis Elite was a 1pt win for the Elite..with theXtreme being down 20-2 the first 3 qtrs. by far if the Xtreme whole team was there or a netural setting they would have beat Memphis Elite. 4.TN Stars Like someone said before the numbers came into play which created more than one "what if" situation. I think the REFEREES need to spend a little more time on the court and out of the stands for whatever reason.
  3. That was the same question I asked, and most of the teams in the EAST thought it was required to play on that side. Otherwise I believe at least two of the teams would have went to North middle. The information from the STATE being relayed to most of the teams isn't clear and most teams did not know there was a choice. EAST was in LAFollette which was in Jacksboro.(never heard of the town before substate).
  4. You can't replace players you can only add them and you can add them as long as they have played in a DQT and other stipulations are involved as well. But it doesn't matter since we are only going to the Nationals to have fun, there wouldn't be any need to add players. Team Pride runs open gym? Year round or somewhere close and I know this for a fact. If your team is well groomed at 7or 8 years old , you will still look for that one player that could help your team be the best of the best in the next couple of years. Team Pride beat the socks off my team, but I did not cry or complain, I told them good game and I'll be back. Guess, what I never came back because only 5 of my girls had the skill to play against that kind of a team and they had at least 10 girls that were good. TP never said come play for me, they said come to open gym. From open gym you decide what is next. Team Pride would never be in a position to worry about another national team adding players and hurting them. They already have the win ,win attitude. Adding players is legal replacing players isn't. As we know the best teams don't always make it Nationals or State. I know three teams in the EAST that should have been in State that did not make it because the Team Prides division only had two teams and the 2nd place team has been beat by every team in the EAST by at least 10pts ,20pts or more. Lady Trotters, Lady Lighting, TN Xtreme, TN Ladies, etc ... So, I know that going to the Nationals if you have 5 teams and one of the teams is Cookville Crushers (not putting them down) but knowing what I saw against the above mentioned teams. I would probably go for the fun.
  5. I have one question? What are we paying for then---all of these tournaments and State money and substate money etc. If all of this conversation about AAU is for the development of young players, then why do we need to pay? NO, because it isn't and never has been and never will be. Unless, you take way score boards and fees it will always be about being the best of the best because that is the way the game has been played. Yes, my theory may need work, but guess what unless you have a completely free camp, that loves my daughter who can't dribble and trys really hard and can't shoot. I don't see your point. AAU has never been about developing players, thats what you do at home behind closed doors, and in gyms or rec. centers. I doubt any team I have played or seen would pick my daughter, been there, done that and completely understand. ***Again PTguard if it is about the development then you would not spend so much time making state predictions on who is the best of the best. I think all of the best listed, none of whom, were from example: Joe's Carwash 10U girls team. (just an example) Why don't you have a team available for anybody join and free of charge 5days a week 2 hrs a day and Free tournaments, then it would be about the development. As of right now, it is about the "UGLY FACE OF WINNING". The sad thing is the Recreation leagues have now become the same way. You have tryouts and nobody wants to pick the little kids that can't play or have basic skills. **AAU is great don't get me wrong but it isn't what it used to be.
  6. THIS IS MY OPINION I AM NOT AN EXPERT OF ANY SORT.......BEFORE I GET ATTACKED FOR "MY OPINION"... I have been to the NATIONALS and competed fairly well. If Tennessee would send a team combined of the best in Tennessee do you realize how dominant we could be against the other STATES and still have fun? The games we won and lost were never double figure and we could have placed as high as 7th in the Nation. My team only had 6 strong girls and 6 girls that were friends of friends. If we had been able to pick 6 strong girls from the other teams that did not make it we would have probably won it. I remember durning the Nationals, scores were being posted on Coacht and questions ask where is the strength in Tennessee? Most of the stronger players were at home. I think the whole system need to be overhauled and have an Elite group or AAU girls and then the REC. AAU teams. When you're in AAU to win people get mad, but AAU is really" public relations " at its best. Otherwise who would care. If everybody knows your name whether they hate you or like you the are going talk about you. That my friends spark other interest. " I did not know Tiffany Woosley until this message board. I started asking questions. Guess what she must be doing something right. IN MY OPINION 5th place in the state should try to give some of there players to 1ST or 2ND place teams and be happy they could compete.
  7. The Memphis Elite 10U have they played Team Pride , TN Ladies or Lady Trotters? If so, how did they do? What was the score? The best teams I have seen in 10 U have played these organizations and have not come close to beating them.
  8. Go to the TNXtreme.com website , they are going to the State with the 1st Place East finish.
  9. Well, yes the girl is probably one of the best I have seen. She was quite impressive in the games I watched. Yes, that is the team from Cooksville... Two very young ladies coach the team and they did a very great job!
  10. The TN Ladies could be one of the best 10U teams I have seen this year. I did see them play in the EAST Sub-state where there were about 7 or 8 teams listed. The TN Ladies defeated a team 52-18 in the championship game. As , someone stated before they have nothing to lose because they are already going to the Nationals, defeating the Memphis team is the SRT. 1. TN Ladies or Team Pride 2. TN Ladies or Team Pride 3. TN Stars or TN Xtreme 4. TN Xtreme or TN Stars It sounds like if you don't play over in the middle South or North , your team can't be one of the top teams in the state. Well, sorry for the disappointment, but this is more like what may happen. The Team Pride and TN Ladies game should be the best game of the tournament , as 9years old the were 1st and 2nd in the STATE but there were other teams that went to the nationals.
  11. AAU basketball should be limited to skilled players, but as we know, recently that isn't the case. We have got people making teams out of 10 years old that have never played basketball, and DAD is coaching the team, because his daughter can't make the " ELITE " teams. DAD doesn't realize his daughter isn't the best in the world until she plays against the teams that are organized, then the complaining starts about running up scores, or teams are too rough. When tournaments are posted you are paying $300.00 to play against the best then "PLAY YOUR BEST". Try not to be so hard on these organizations that "PRIDE" themselves on" XTREME" training. Girls will be girls unitl they are challenged to play like boys, and when you have teams that "EXCEL" brag on them, don't bring them down. If you are getting beat by 75 or 80 points it may not be the other teams training , it maybe a lack of "DADDYS" team training. At the end of the season your organization has put out of $2000.00 or $3000.00 to play tournaments, the parents want to see what your organization has produced and who will recognize the "STAR" potential.
  12. The TN Ladies did get 1ST in the East, but the TN Xtreme was 2nd. The State tournament may have more upsets than you think.
