  1. Stone had a great season, yet they have a hard time winning the big game. Over rated, maybe, yet a very solid team in AA basketball. AAA basketball is a different story. The CCHS Lady Jets had a good run also. They never got the credit they deserved. Stone is loaded with great players. Ask them what jersey they wore last year. All five starters for Stone, wore a CCHS Lady Jet Jersey last season! This season, the Lady Jets, and the Jets for that matter, were a brand new team. No returning starters, two brand new coaches, and one of the toughest schedules in the state. All the hype from the coaches & Stone fans on this thread has been amazing. Do not forget where you came from! CUMBERLAND COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL JETTS! Everyone of these Lady Panthers & Panthers (except freshman) have been former CCHS JETS. Every coach at Stone learned their trade at CCHS. Can Cumberland County compete for state championships? Not really, until we get great coaches. What defines greatness? Coaches that really care. Coaches that care about players more than championships! Coaches that wiil not leave, no matter what, and prove that you really stand behind a team and a school. Go Jets & Lady Jets next season.
  2. The lady Jets did have a great season. A first year coach, no returning starters(0) , played Stone tough both games they met, made it to the region tourney. Buc, what is success to you? Making it to the big dance and losing? CCHS will be strong next year. You dont think CCHS could have been competitive against some of these teams this year? You talk big about the CCHS jv & 9th grade losing to Stone this year. You are wrong about the talent level. You stated "clearly they are more talented". Come on coach Buck, are you saying Stone has a higher talent level than the CCHS fresman or jv next year? We'll see. Be ready, here comes the mighty JETS. Your Panthers are 1 and 1 against the Jets this year. 1 and 1 overall. Scary isn't it?
  3. I support the Panthers in there quest for the gold ball but they did not play the likes of Cleveland, Bradley, Walker Valley & Mcminn Central this season. Everyone has to agree that the CCHS Lady Jets played a much tougher schudule than the Stone Lady Panthers. That being said, The Lady Panthers did beat CCHS two times buy a combined total of four points in two games. Anyway, go Lady Panthers!
  4. Way to go Lady Jets! Four of the ladies losses this year were by a combined 11 points. They have fought hard all season long & it ain't over yet. Congrats to first year coaches, Coach H & Coach Cooley. You all have done a fine job.
  5. CCHS did play well at Walker Valley last night. look for the Lady Jets to upset Crange tonight by 4 in ot. These girls seem to play up to their competition and are sure to upset some teams this year like they did at Mcminn county.
  6. FRIDAY 4/21 TN. TOP GUNS VS BLOUNT BULLETS--7:45 PM SAT 4/22 TN RAIDERS ORANGE VS TN EXTREME--10:00 AM TN TOP GUNS VS TN EXTREME-----------12:30 PM BLOUNT BULLETS VS TN RAIDERS ORANGE-3:00 PM TN RAIDERS ORANGE VS TN TOP GUNS--5:30 PM TN EXTREME VS BLOUNT BULLETS--------8:00 PM ALL GAMES EASTERN TIME
  7. I understand that the TN Extreme will be playing in the Chattanooga substate this weekend. Any real scouting report on this team? What are their strengths or weaknesses? How have they faired in other tourneys this year so far?
  8. Are you kidding Jackass?? The Tn Raiders below average? What games did you watch? The Lady Raiders dominated the first three games of the tournament & lost by a slim margin (5 points I believe) in the finals. This was their 1st tournament of the season. Everyone of the 11/u teams I watched this weekend in Lebanon were very good. Far from below average.
  9. The Tennessee Raiders 11/U Orange team from Cumberland County will be fun to watch. They have one of the top 11 year old post players in the state. The rest of the girls have experience on 5 different elementary teams in the county and most played AAU ball last year. First tourny is March 31 thru April 2 in Lebanon. Will also be playing in the sub-state on April 7. Good luck to all!!!
  10. YOUR RIGHT MUFFIN BUT THE SEASON AIN'T OVER YET! ROUND 4 IS COMING.
  11. Tim Smith of Cumberland County. His LADY JETS are 28-3 so far this season and ranked 3rd in the state.
  12. CCHS wins by 5 in a classic matchup. Free throws will be key late in the game. If the LADY JETS can make 'em they win.
  13. DWL is correct that STONE MEMORIAL in Cumberland Co should be a very talented team next season. Both the boys & girls coaches from CCHS will be moving to SMHS and several players will follow. I understand that whatever elementary school next years players attended will decide where they go to high school. If hard zoning is the case the players could be split evenly between the two high schools.
  14. Will there be any suprises in the upcoming REGION 3 AAA tournament. Does anyone know where it will be played?
  15. Casha Foster plays with more heart than anyone Ive watched in years. She leaves it all on the floor night in & night out. Not only is she a great player but she is also fine young lady as well. Very deserving of the vote. Good luck the rest of the season Casha!!!!!!
