  1. Riverdale also had two bombs that would have been out in that game, by Souviney and O'Brien....selective memory I 'm guessing
  2. Ever heard of the sixth man in basketball? Come on sports fans!
  3. I can tell you positively beyond a shadow of a doubt that the drum (also known as the war hammer )was played in between the innings of the Riverdale/ Beech games on Friday night and Saturday morning. Not before the game or when the ball was "live". After both games ,you bet ! I do not believe you will find a rule from the TSSAA regarding noisemakers in an open air venue. With everything said, I wonder how in the world the Atlanta Braves are ever beaten.
  4. Just playing their game, start to finish. It wasn't rec ball or was it?
  5. Excellent point "statman".
  6. Local newspapers typically cover local teams. Maybe you should start one!!!! Then you can use all the ink you want on whatever team you choose.
  7. The DNJ covers Rutherford County and is owned by Gannett who also owns the Tennessean. Same reporters and photographers, spread thin by the Spring Fling and the economy. Litlte credit given to Riverdale as to their chances of winning a State Championship (read the coverage),and rightly so, especially after getting off to a sluggish start. It appeared to be Beech who had everything to lose (which they did). Riverdale dug deep and finished what they set out to do as soon as the '09 roster was penciled in.
  8. [/font] I agree with Best. He (the Beech Coach) was graceless under pressure on the field and with the media. He was also "out coached" and knows it. Hats off to Beech they are a fine team of young ladies I am sure, but Riverdale slipped up on them twice and hammered it home. I understand some of the Riverdale Team overheard some of the Beech girls talking about picking out their championship rings before the Fiday night game ( it could be called counting your chickens before they hatch )and most likely further fueled Riverdales desire to crush them. Riverdale's program is lead by a man with a rare coaching talent. The girls who play and have played for him are fiercely loyal and the parents bust their fannies for him, but no one works harder than he does. Nice job Warriors.
