  1. soccer around the world has always and will always have ties. it is a fitting end to a courgeous fight between two teams. having overtime and shootouts would ruin a good defensive or offensive battle. soccer is different then other sports, seeing that the average game in highschool soccer has no more than a 1 or 2 point difference. the way it is now works, soccer has wins and has losses and should always have ties.
  2. the game will be played tuesday, 4/17 at portland. any predictions?
  3. thanks i was just wondering the reason for the cancel
  4. well i think by looking at the state rankings it might look something like this 1. Portland (8th) 2. Livingston (22nd) 3. Station Camp (23rd) 4. White House (25th) 5. Merrol Hyde N/R 6. Dekalb Co. N/R 8A-AAPortland Station Camp White House Merrol Hyde MJCA Greenbrier Friendship Macon Co 7A-AALivingston Acdy Dekalb Co Monterey Jackson Co Smith County York Institute 8A/AA- usually has stronger teams and won the region last year. 7A/AA- usually weaker but livingston is always on top
  5. i've played in worse too... all the portland players were ready to travel when we got the news it was canceled. so i'm not sure. i would like to hear the reason if anyone has it because the rain subsided this afternoon. the game could've easily been played
  6. i think that comparing the two teams records is misleading. looking at the schedules of both teams. portland has gone untested in A-AA and AAA. we have only played and lost to two ranked team (MUS, briarcrest) both in div. II. although both of those game were great showings of our strengths, they were even better showing of our weakness's. clarksville has lost to teams like Hendersonville, Bearden, and Brentwood some of which were land slides. now i wasn't able to see any of these games but the scores speak for themselves. they have a strong team who at some times in this game were giving portland a run for their money. but overall at the end of next week we (portland) will have been tested by the other two leading teams in our distric (white house 4/14, station camp 4/17) and we will see just how strong we are. ::on a side note #13 a red headed freshman for clarksville, had an outstanding night and realy kept clarksville in the game. he'll be one to keep an eye on in the years to come.
  7. Senior Anthony Groft #4 from Portland. He acts as a general on the field. He controls the pace of game. make beautiful passes out of the back tremindous field vision. He the first line of defense and starts all most every attack. Portland is going to miss him in the middle field.
