  1. I think his name is actually spelled knight. titan fan doesn't seem to be such a great speller lol. But They are a well balanced team, they got about 4 players that all seem pretty close to the same level. Dale, Garret, Knight, and Edwards are all pretty solid. I think the other starter is also Brown maybe, he played pretty well against SC the other night. It will be a tough task for G-ville but Tuesday is getting closer, I cant wait for some Gordonsville Tiger Basketball!

  2. this guy is wrong gville is niot goin to beat clay by more 2 if they even win i dont think gville will win any way

    58-clay

    49-Gville

How do you know thats a guy???? /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Should be a great game Tuesday night! Go TIGERS!

  3. this was a good win for clay co. not many people thought they could win that game. How did they stop the big girl and how did Carr play.

Foul trouble. Clay County really did a good job boxing her out though. Carr played well, hit a three or two I believe, not sure how many points she ended up with but also made some good feeds to Ferris but she didn't do much with it once she got it. When she was out of the game SC really seemed to struggle. Ferris will have to be more productive if SC expects to be competitive in 7AA, and by competitive i mean for 4th place.

  4. you , can't always go by what year in school they are in some schools have sophmores as old as others seniors, because they hold them back in middle school to be older in hgh school. You can play til your 19 and some seniors graduate at 17. So the older guys should be better.

yea I know what you are saying about the holding kids back. I know a lot of people do that and its not a bad idea, I think its a little harder on the kids and more obvious if you hold em back when they are in elementary or middle school rather than holding them back in K.

  5. That coach has been there a year or two!!! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

as a matter of fact he's been there about 7 or 8 years now. But he hasn't got to try his system yet. So in a sense its like having a new coach. Attitudes are the same, but styles are different. I'm sure they will do fine and have a great season. Wish him the best of luck except for 2 nights /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  6. If Clay Co doesn't win it this year they may not for the next couple of years because I know RBS and JC both have extremely good talent coming up and I know for RBS that come next year or so they are going to be really tough!

I dunno about RBS..... The Jr. High doesnt appear to be as strong as they have been in the past. From scores I have seen in the papers and just what I've heard, they are way down. But you never know how kids will develop.

  7. With FCS it starts out as them asking one of your players to come play travel ball with them or something of that nature. Then next season comes around and poof, your short a player. Everyone knows FCS does a little recruiting, no point in trying to cover it up. Not saying they are the only ones in the state that does it, but dont act like it doesnt go on.

  8. How are teams looking in their scrimmages, and who are they playing? I know Gordonsville scrimmaged Pickett Co., and they go to Cannon Co. next week sometime. I think Westmoreland has scrimmaged Clay Co.; and I think Watertown scrimmages Pickett Co. next week. Just wondering how the district is doing?

Gordonsville won at Pickett, by a small margin. Didnt shoot to great, but handled the ball pretty well.

  9. What this thread has turned into is: bash on G-ville because they dont want to come up here. It would be tougher for us if we had to play against Clarkrange and Jackson County every year I'll admit, but no poster from Gordonsville has gotten on here and implied that we would be scared to move to 7A or dont want to. I simply said it wouldn't make sense for us to move, because our district will lose 2 teams next year when they re-classify which will make a 5 team district. But dont act like if given the chance you (RBS) wouldn't get out of 7A. I dont see why anyone would want to go into that district with those 2 teams, it would be really tough yes, but would also make you better come tourney time. Regardless, if we wanted to move to 7A or not, it's not really up to us.

  10. I cant imagine Gordonsville moving to 7A because next year 8A will lose Westmoreland, who is moving up to 2A, I believe which would drop us down to 6 teams, and I also think MJCA will be going DII, i dunno if thats just football or what, but if they go, then that would put us down to 5 teams in 8A. So I cant really see G-ville moving.

  11. Making my first appearance on the Coach T board......Big FCS fan......

I think FCS and Gordonsville will be the teams to beat in 8A this year. From FCS's point of view we will bring back everyone but the Styles kid who graduated and went to Vol State. We did however get a new student in from North Carolina (and no we didn't recruit him). His dad has a twin brother here in Lebanon and both are pilots I think. Nathan Boyd will be the transfer and is a senior. Played with us in camp this summer. Will be an added addition to a very tall FCS team. We should win the boards in every game we play....We have Boyd, Goodner, Tetter, Sorrels, and Neal who have the height to hit the boards.......We have our playmaker Lee Maasen and should have good bench support from Wilson, Hill, Ward, Haddock, and Bentley (all soph and jr's). We also have a good nucleus of freshman that could make a difference......Reeves, Gaines, patterson, and DeFevers are just a few.

I think overall we have 23 players and hopefully will have several JV games like we have had in the past few years.

Looking forward to being on the board and ready for the basketball season to begin.

Sounds and looks like FC will have a solid team. How do you think the district will do against them; and how will it shape up by the end of the season?

  12. No she didn't quit till season was over then she decided mot to play basketball her senior year. They have Watson Grisham, Smith, and Maynard that are all Seniors and will maybe start. Not ever sure with Coach Agee?? There are I think 3 jrs on the team.

They have a good mix of players; and will competing for the top spot in the district. GO BIG BLUE!

  13. The postseason is the reason to play the regular season. No...I mean the playoffs are the real season. I think our goal every year is to get as far as possible in the playoffs. Realistically...that is to the semis for us and everyone else in the east except for one team.

I know what you meant I was just being sarcastic.

  14. I think the Owls are pretty good. CC had about 70 total yards. Most of those were against the subs. Great job Owls...on to the real season.

Real season? Didn't you just finish up the real season? I think you mean onto the postseason right????? /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
