  1. I must say that was one of the most accurate and well said statements I have seen amid all the garbage posted about this topic. True insight.
  2. I sure hope you're wrong. I'd like to see someone else calling the plays...you know, try and see what the real problem is. Like what was said by Sparta..."defense is stout". Many of the same personnel are playing both sides-- the difference leads to the coaching. Time for the head coach to step up and do what needs to be done....too much at stake to throw the whole season away and from here it looks like a downhill slide. Hats off to Sparta's offense...very aggressive playing.
  3. What I would suggest is to get over the selfishness for now. What I know that alot of the others don't is the team this senior is griping about not getting playing time with is having a hard time getting it together and personally I couldn't see any coach chosing a time when your experienced team is struggling to plug in an inexperienced player because he wants it to be. I also saw where he talks about making a big tackle in practice but yet feels uncomfortable playing defense. Sounds like... I'm a senior and I want to play running back. Last year when this team had it better together I saw many substitutions late in games- those comfort zones haven't come yet. If you can't support your team from wherever you are on the field as a high school player especially when they are down then maybe you should sign up for a community sport that requires the coach to play each player a certain number of minutes like Jaycee ball..................
  4. One thing is for sure- if the Pioneers lose Friday night it won't be largely due to a spectacular Sparta team- Warren Co is its own worst enemy right now- the average person can see that. Let's hope each team brings its best Friday night.
  5. Warren Co shut down Lincoln Co's offense and CAN compete in this game IF and ONLY if they get the offense going... Man wouldn't that be nice to see?
  6. I like your optimism. Could be possible if Warren Co. can get some offense going and give the defense a break.
  7. Tell us a little about White Co. How many starting seniors? Heard about the passing offense, what about their run game?
  8. Sorry fanatic but I just dont see White Co putting up 35 on Warrens D however, I can see you shutting out this juggernaut of an offense that only scored 21 points all season so far. But as anyone who has been to the Pioneer games knows the O line will be the biggest factor in this game. If the O line could pull of a miracle and block somebody I see this game going in the Pioneers favor. The D is solid for Warren County but the O line is absolutely horrible.
  9. I do think Rich and Wilcher are needed more in the offensive line up- both are proven RBs that can provide more muscle, maybe more yards while the O line is collapsing. Bouldin was good before but the O line will have to be stronger before he has a chance- the others have more size and strength to get out front. I think they should spread it out a little- and see if it doesn't help. Otherwise, just finding guys to relieve, rotations, might keep the team fresh..gotta have more conversions and fewer punts.
  10. Will Warren Co be able to compete in this one?
  11. Reading along, I agree with alot of what is posted. A few things- the coach is responsible for the team and decisions made- like it or not this is not Jaycee ball- teams should try to win. This year there is enough talent on the WC team to win some games- questions- Is the coach(es) playing the right players at the right times in the right positions- 50/50 chance- Can't put players in positions and get results just 'cause you want them in those positions- they don't have that type of ability- Are too many players in too many positions who never leave the field- Yes-Will this hurt the overall results- Yes- A wise coach once said- "I would rather have a less than perfect player fresh in the game versus my best worn out"- You should have your best on the field at all times but the best player winded is no longer the best to be on the field and also has a higher risk of getting hurt. The coach also has the overall responsibility to make sure his assistant coaches provide the best preparation, best plays and guidance for the team he has- the Defense Coach is where he needs to be, by comparison there is no excuse for the play calling of the offense- we all see what's going on- WC makes it easy for the opponent's defense. A good head coach is a manager who insists on changes when things aren't working- whether it's the wrong player in the wrong position, the play calling, formations, etc. By comparison, could a coach take this team, make adjustments and win some games- Yes- So that is the difference. We'll see what happens-
  12. And another thing the offensive line was absolute garbage tonight. I hate to single out anything but it was terrible. WC could never get the run going and all they had was an occasional 4 yd hitch which was all the QB had time for. I also seen WC running slants all night into a cover 2.. right into a linebacker and safety, which I dont understand. WC finally attacked the outside and got some success but not enough. Overall play calling must improve and even more offensive line HAS to improve to save this season.
  13. I was surprised...is Lincoln Co. weaker than thought or did Warren Co. defense play better? One thing for sure, WC's offense isn't gonna make it this year like it is, may not be many points on the board for them unless the defense can score them. Who calls that kind of junk for offense anyway..be ashamed to call them coach. Can't be any skill to do the same thing over and over..think about it- were all passes to the right and all hand offs to the left? Didn't see any strategy going on. WC doesn't have the size to beat it in either. Time for somebody to grab the reins and fix that mess called offense--the team deserves better. Keep your heads up guys--maybe somebody will fix it and salvage your season.
  14. Warren Co would be fine if they had an O-line.
  15. This will be a hard game for WC to win. Their offense still sputtered against an average at best Dekalb Co defense. The defense is WC's strong point but cant put points on the board for the O. WC will have to get the run going first and early to have a chance in this game.. I dont think they broke a run over twenty yards from the tail back all night. I saw some improvement in the line but still MUCH needed for next week.
  16. Warren Co did win the game yes but STILL the offense is struggling. Now this cant go on all year or WC will struggle. I still dont know how this game would have turned out if it hadnt of been for the fumble returned for a TD lete in the 2nd quarter. Talent is there, just dont know about the coaching.
  17. I agree about #50. I'd also put him on the line, he could be a big help.
  18. Let's hope the coach can get them there again but let's not forget that Warren Co. dropped to a lower division and now plays teams from smaller schools. I haven't kept up with who the middle school is playing now but I do remember the middle school beating some big time teams even one if I remember right that hadn't been beat in 4 years- teams from Nashville and Murfreesboro. Those were the middle school days I was referring to.
  19. I agree that seniors should set the tone- let's hope they have a good season but to win they will need the juniors and sophomores also.
  20. I think they definitely have the talent. WC has a shot with the group there now that was so successful in Middle School days added to the rest of the hard-working guys. With so many of them playing I can't help but fault those who call the shots. If the coaches make the changes they need to they'll start winning...if they don't, it's going to be a hard way to go and require alot more effort than just talent. The way it is now the offense doesn't have a chance...too bad for WC.
  21. Was the defense that good or Warren Co offense that bad? Hmmm..... From where I sat the offense was the biggest problem I saw. So disappointing.......
  22. losing one of the first two games will not mean a losing season or losing streak
