  1. Dang it mister, Us hillbillies is so sorry we came all the way to Ootawy and gave yoouns a butt whoopin in your own house. sure wood be nice if ya'll can come here next year and play us we would do it agin this here year but we gonna be busy with some other teams. since ya'll aint got nuthing to do come and watch us and Walker Valley play tonight, just don't be afraid when you hear the banjos playing, that's just ole Jethro gittin fired up. Sinserly, Zeb
  2. Jimmy Walker got the job. Every freshman that made the team was on the travel team he had for the last 4 or 5 years. I hope he does well, but no more excuses if he doesn't those kids have been together and know each other, it's time to put up or shut up. They wil be in a district without all the Murfreesboro school so expectations are and should be high. Good luck Pioneers.
  3. Let's put things in order. 1. Jimmy leaves the middle school and joins the high school staff 2. Pioneers win 2 games. 3. JW resigns 4. Jamie "Cat" Walker (Jimmy's brother) is released by the Orioles. Hmm , could all be coincidence but sure does make a person think don't it.
  4. Madewell and the current staff, NO. The Pioneers with the right leadership from AD on down can most certainly have a winning season. We got one problem at the school out now just work on the rest. A TOTAL house cleaning is what's needed in ALL sports.
  5. I did start and Ihave two rings from Michigan 82 and 84. As an outsider I can see what the lifelong WC residents can't. As for the fishfearme comment, have you tried to sell a house here? It's like I can't leave. But you guys won't have to hear my opinion anymore, I'll blog where honest thoughts are appreciated.
  6. Sorry dude, don't have a kid playing. I have lived here for the past 23 years and it's always been that way since I moved here from up north. This county has always had it's good ole boy network and probably always will. As long as everyone's ok with settling for mediocre results, that's what they'll get.
  7. Contrary to what some people are saying there is talent in Warren County. The problem is we have too many dads coaching, and not just the one's in the stands. We have kids that go thru all the summer workouts, attend all of the extra's and then someone's kid decides he wants to play and automatically get's a starting position. Kid's aren't going to put up with that these days, there are too many options for them outside of athletics. And it all starts with dads who are trying to relive their high school days thru their sons. Also why do we have a kid on the freshman team that was sent to the academy last year from the middle school for selling hydro's. I believe in second chances and all but playing sports is a privilage and should be earned. I know this is the way it's always been in good old Warren County and look where that has gotten us. As a supporter and fan of the Pioneers it is sad that the powers that be have let it come to this. We have two new school board members and some new county commissioners so maybe thing will change. Wake up people, the system has been broken for years, people keep saying we have turned a corner with 3 straight playoff appearences but when was the last WC beat a team with a winning record.
  8. Heard a rumour today that the 2 Tim's (Frye and Majors) were the new middle school fb coaches. Anybody heard this and if so what's your opinion?
  9. 95, you are right about some of the linemenbeing lazy, but let tell you a story one of my good friends, (I won't mention his name but he is one of the directors of the youth program.) anyway his oldest son was an eighth grader on this years ms team, not a real aggressive kid but 6ft and 220 and just starting to come out of his shell, one day in practice the line coach told the 13 yr old kid "I don't need you", so the kid quit, after 3yrs of getting his brains beat in by older kids. he says he doesn't ever play football again, now this kid has a younger brother who is A STUD in the youth leagues, but he will tell you he won't play for WC because of what happened to his older brother. This man has worked his butt off for the betterment of WC Football for the last 7-8 years and it kills him that a jack*** ruined a 13 year old from playing a sport he loved. He came close to resigning from the youth program this winter but some have talked him into giving it some more time. So whomever the middle school gets as their new coach, get some quality assistants that can deal with 13-14 year old KIDS. These are not adults that are playing at that level.
  10. I too agree that the youth football program is coming along well. Pat Moran and Bucky Hobbs are doing a great job running that league. They are trying to put lights on the field at Bobby Ray School where they play at. There were probably 300 kids that played youth football this year, so that can only help things in the future. The coaching situation at the middle school needs to be handled better. They were stupid for letting Harris go, there was hardly any support from the school administration for the program. The biggest thing I see is lack of motivation on so many kids parts, too much Playstation and not enough real play. Yes, Warren Co is turning the corner but there is a lot of hard work that needs to be done. On a closing note, congrats to all of our state champs this year and for everybody else just remember now everybody is 0-0 once again.
  11. You are right about Watson, he could motivate a fence post to block and tackle. But he is a teacher at the middle school and possibly the only that could convince the middle school administration that "blondie" is actually working against the football program. You might also be surprised at the number of athletes that played football for freshmen this year since they didn't have to answer to her, one I can think of is Tylan Martin. Things could actually turn around for all Warren Co athletics if all coaches would support the program as a whole and not just worry about making their teams (themselves) look good. It doesn't seem to be happening at the high school as much with Ryan Smith.
  12. Heard a rumour that Jeff Watson will be returning to coach the middle school, but you know how rumours are in WC. Bill Harris is one of the finest men I know and what happened to him at the middle school is a shame. The only coach I hear that might be coming back to WCMS is Devin Rackley. There is some really good talent coming up thru the youth leagues that will be at the middle school if the little blond that coaches boys basketball will let play and not threaten their place on the basketball team. (I KNOW IT HAPPENS). But nothing will be done about because she is the high school AD's sister-in-law. As for the high school their are some really good kids up there, The D-line should be OK with Wilcher,Harris and Casey Dunn returning. Thrower should be the starter at QB, but you never know. Cody Robinson should develop into a monster, he's got the bloodline(his dad is Ray Robinson who played at UT on the mid '80s) but his work ethic is what will put him over the top, this kid is relentless. Taylor Bain, Jay Hutchins, and Shelton Brewer are some of the people to look out for.
  13. Several players as a matter of fact. I can only hope they show more respect this year and don't go out before kickoff and jump on the mid field emblem. That was about as stupid a move as they could have done. It's just like touchdown celebrations, just hand the ball to the ref and act like you done it before.
  14. ok hereth it goes: WC get the opening kickoff. 1st down: Wilcher up the middle for (maybe) 2 yards. 2nd down: sweep to Officer for (maybe) 3 yards. 3rd down: Mullican back to pass- loss of 15 or maybe INT. 4th down: punt Riverdale either runs punt for score or scores on 1st or 2nd down. rest of game: SEE ABOVE. I hate to admit it but I've watched it for 3 years now. When 9 year old kids can call what you run sitting the stands ,predictable is not even close to what you are. But believe me the young men on the WC team are better than what they show, it's just they are not taught what it takes to play football the way it should be played. Too many politics and other BS going on. And nothing will change until the people of Warren County get tired of mediocrity.
  15. How come nobody mentioned "GUS"? lol that mule could kick, plus it had Dick Butkus in it.
