  1. Congrats Lindsey! I wish the very best for you.
  2. I really hate to hear of his passing and I wish peace for his family and friends. I don't recall any negative moments from Bill for the past 15 years I have known him. I think there needs to be some kind of award in the Knoxville area that will honor his name. He was a great man that all his young students cared about! Darrell Williams Diamond Academy
  3. One catcher to watch this Spring and Summer is Kat McInturff of Unaka HS and Knoxville Blaze. She's a 2011 grad that was hurt last year but looks to be back for this year.
  4. Coach Hawkins, On behalf of the Diamond Softball Academy, instructors and it's students, our prayers go out for her, her family, and team. I also wish you strength in being strong for the family and your team. Darrell Wiliams
  5. Soreshins As you can see, I indeed was taking up for East TN teams and will continue. West has a pretty good pitcher right now and I deemed that a good win. I might have overstated it by claiming "power", but I had gotten riled up from the crap I was hearing about Coalfield getting spanked in "All" of their losses, which was not true. Are you implying that I don't know anything about local teams since 2005? I feel as I do. Thanks so much for your reply. I probably know you, but you don't come to mind.
  6. Yellow, don't worry about that idiot. He's proved his worth and you and I have revealed it and he's not going to respond intelligently, so we can move on and forget him. East Tn doesn't have to prove anything anymore than anyone else, or anywhere else! Not all Mid TN people are like him. I'll see you at the game tomorrow. Did we get them to guarantee good weather? Do I know you? I bet I do.
  7. Hello, this is his dads former little league coach, Darrell Williams. I pray a safe recovery for him and let me know if there is anything I can do.
  8. Once again Ms. Know Nothing, Just shut up if that is the best you can come up with and do show respect to YellowBall. You are an absolute joke, but you are not funny to people who give a dang about fastpitch softball. I have lived in Hendersonville in the past and I was very instrumental in converting their slowpitch program (which at the time was the state's biggest fastpitch or slowpitch sirls' softball league) to fastpitch, just ask around! I have been back in East TN (Kingston/Knoxville) area for 15 years and have seen a whole lot of fastpitch araound here. I've seen how Chattanooga area teams used to dominate the whole state (and still some do). I've seen the rise of the Nashville/Middle Tn area teams grow up and be quite dominant overall. At the same time, there have been some very good East TN/Knoxville area teams do very well. Teams that come to mind, Gibbs (multi times state Champ), Halls, Central, Unicoi, Unaka, Kingston, Midway, Cumberland Co., & Knox Powell, to mention just a very few! I am proud of Middle Tn teams and I am also just as proud of East Tn teams.
  9. Just keep to the subject Mr. Not No Crap. I just don't like to see you comment on teams you don't have a clue about and use mis-information to try and justify your point. That's what upsets me. I don't call my wife (or even my late Mom) Ole-lady as that is disrespectful to women. If you are going to comment on women's sports, at least show them respect. I am going to the Midway and Coalfield game tonight and I'll send them your regards. SadienClaysMom, I work with some local girls to you at Unaka, Elizabethton, and Unicoi and good luck to your team. If I can ever help you, let me know.
  10. I am a Checkers Instructor, that's why I am on the softball message board you dummy! What a stupid reply by you. If you are going to call yourself "MrKnowitall", at least know the difference between -hit and shinola you turd. Are you saying people from Midway and Coalfield live in trailers? What does that have to do with the price of "tomatoes"? Midway has been to the Soddy tourney and Coalfield went to the Franklin tourney, so if you could pull out your "Wal-Mart" atlas, you can see that they have travelled around the state! At least you have something you are successful in life to do.
  11. I wanted to respond immediately to the self proclaimed "Mr Know it All's" reply, but I wanted to check on the schedule first. I agree Stlbird, your reply was quite good, as you gave a very good example of how to deal with a dominant pitcher-based team! I'll reply to your points later. As for Know it all's answer, I can't see Midway (State tourney appearances last 3 years with no success) and Coalfield (probable state tourney appearance this year) winning the state championship, but stranger things have happened! I remember a "lowly Lenoir City" (yes, Knoxville area) team winning the state in 2005 when no one gave them a chance! I had a few students on that team (most notably Sara Vaughn that signed with UT) as I do on both of this year's Midway and Coalfield teams! As for Midway and Coalfield "so-called getting spanked" in their losses, I have a hard time taking you serious to the point of finally replying to a post from you (which I have not in the past due to the fact that it didn't include any teams that I knew much about). Midway's worst loss of three (1-0 Sweetwater, 2-1 to Mercy Academy, KY) was a 3-0 loss to a very good Meigs Co.! Coalfield's worst loss was 11-0 to Sweetwater (4-0 Collierville, 1-0 to Midway in 9 innings, and a revenge 1-0 loss to Sweetwater), and they had a major quality win over Knoxville power West High School 9-8! TOther than the 11-0 loos to Sweetwater (of which they gained respectability), I don't understand your "candid choice of words such as butts spanked. StlBird, I did like your post and generally do like most all of your posts. I tend to not post as I am an instructor and seem biased. I just had to reply to the other guy.
  12. You too Brian! Thank you for all the coverage you give these kids. I read your sports' stories on the web and sometimes even on paper when one of my kids bring a copy. You and Goose do a great job.
  13. That's where I'll be tonight! I'll be standing exactly behind the backstop right in the middle. I am very proud of both pitchers and I really hope they both get to state! Lindsey has a great future ahead of her and Hannah is closing a chapter and coming to work for me. Good luck to both from The Diamond Academy!!!!
  14. Congratulations to The Lady Bucks and especially Coach Barfield from Darrell and everyone at the Diamond Academy! He is a very good coach.
