Ok ok ok,, I have heard from all of you and here is what I understand. Mr. Jackson has a court date on Feb 25 in th Juv. system. I think it is sad that this one player has had more chances than Carter has peanuts!!!! He has cussed at teachers and called them names, he has choked a kid till he passed out, been in fights during a school function, football practice, and other functions. This kid has had more chances than other kids in his school, all in the name of an athlete. When the coach came here two years ago and he talked to the parents, he explained that a kids actions on the field, off the field and in the community will have a direct bearing on if the kid could play at Central. I think the parents thought he was talking about kids that act bad... Now we think it is the good kids that do their homework, try to be good citizens that he was talking about. I do think that Mr. Armstrong did what the football coach needs to do. Coach Amrstong told him he is finished and off the basketball team.. If a coach thinks that one player is his whole team,, well, maybe the other players need to stop playing and let the coach and the kid that does no wrong play the game without everyone else. I should wait till to see what the JV court does but he was caught with drugs that a 17 year old should not have and I for one do not want my child around kids like that. Central is a great place but things like this gives us all bad names. The coach needs to follow Coach Armstrong's ideal and wash his hands of this. I have to totally agree with you on your statement. I do really wish the New Coach all the luck in the world. I am thinking it will take him at least 3 years to bring it back to at least where they might be able to compete with some in the district.

I really have to agree with you about McMinn Central for AA... They are looking impressive. I am thinking OakRidge for AAA.. dont know much about singleA.

This started about 4 to 5 years ago and thank goodness the old coach is gone, gone , gone. The new coach will have to rebuild a program that is so near death it will take him a while to do this. I think this new coach will do what he needs to do to help this program out. We will just have to wait and see. I wish him and his team good luck.. GO WV....

How did Central do this weekend?????? I had to work all dang weekend and was not able to find out what went on?? someone tell me how we did?

I have to agree with you.. I finally left after halftime after watching 3 of Central's players playing individual ball. Central has a good team but this might hurt them in the end...????

Not to put the Lambert girl down but dang,,, The score was already a blowaway anyway.. Why keep her in to face a knee injury in a game that really was decided in the 1st 5 minutes of the game??? The girl from McMinn blew her knee out in that game by just tripping.. I know that if a person is going to get hurt they are going to get hurt,, but don't put them in a game where it isn't necessary.... Lambert is a great player but I noticed that the girls didn't play that well against McMinn... or was it just me????????????

I am embarassed about the way some have posted in this posting. We got beat and that is that... I wish Greenbrier the best and they are some very nice people that I met also at the game from there. I did see our people handle the lost like losers and not proud of the kids.. I for one have been outspoken on some of the issues of this team this year but hey,, they made it to the first round of the state. They lost their only Senior but put a true Freshman to take her place. I really don't think the freshman is near ready for This type of ball but there is always a reason why Coach M. does what he does. Might be to motivate the older players like he always does?! With all starters coming back from last year and all are Juniors what will be the agenda of this team? Will they prove that they can win it all or will the parents get in the way and stall the agenda??? I was wondering how strong our region was and it was answered Friday night. Central (#1 in District) vs #4 Greenbrier and loses. Polk gets hammered and also the #2 team Howard gets hammered. Maybe it is me but I am thinking our district is very weak? Not to take away from some of Central's players (Slack,,ect...) but I just think our region and district are very weak and this proves my point. I hope the best for GREENBRIER and wish them to go far.. I talked to few of the parents and they were very nice.

ok I have to address this one. when you say that kids have more stuff to get into these days,,, I do agree but you can't let it flow over to sports and the teams they play on. I do not have a problem with the coach just the way he has handled his players problems. When you have horseplay that results in a child being choked till he passes out and all you do is make him run,,, I have a problem with that! When you have the same kid that choked the other player get into a fight a week later and make him run again,, I have a problem with that too. If winning is more important than character I have a problem with that also.. Remember,, this coach gave Knoxville News paper an ok to interview this same kid. Oh,, what a rolemodel we have in this one... Signs atuographs also.. great rolemodel for my child (NOT)! This coach can either get control of the problem and restore his own character or this will keep on getting worse... Hey,, just think,, they just had a scare today with a gang wanting to get the same kid and they even had to take him out of school today for his on safety... Sounds like to me,, there is a problem... and for a coach to be a true support of these young men,, he will have to swallow his pride and take charge!!

I have not said that Coach Derrick isn't a good coach.. But when you turn your head incident after incident he needs to start doing a good long look.. You had the quarterback chock a kid till he passes out.. then you have two kids come to school high,, I do know that coach did kick them off the team (great for him) but you have the quarterback get in a fight in the feild house and all he does is run again? WHen do you say,, hey,,,enough is enough!!!! I love Central and when the morals are an issue ,, they need to be addressed!!
