Are there ANY moderators on this board? Everyone needs to STOP bashing these young ladies. They read this board......please remember that they are 14-18 year olds. I have read the bashing on the wrestling board, basketball, etc. Try to be adults and DISCUSS the topic at hand. Everyone needs to grow up. For the record, I have no "dog in the hunt" in girls basketball or riverdale high school.

Trust me when I tell you that #11 for Blackman is a freshman......in the next week or so, we will be calling her a sophomore. She is not only an awesome softball player, but she is a good kid all the way around. Her future is very bright! We love her!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, #11 for Blackman is a freshman. Her name is Amanda VanVranken. But most everyone calls her "Bam"

Blackman's #1 pitcher is a junior and has been a starter all three years. Their senior catcher was hurt for preseason and beginning of the season. She is back to playing and batting full-time. Blackman also has a freshman pitcher who is doing very well, along with another catcher who is also a freshman that is doing a great job. Both of these freshman are hitting the ball extremely well. These two freshmen also play JV games.

Well, the Blaze took care of Siegel the other night without playing much "small ball", so I'm not sure what you mean. The Blaze are playing very well right now. They play at Cookeville on Monday, at Oakland on Tuesday. Thursday they play a non-district game with Soddy and next Saturday night..........the big battle against Riverdale. Should be interesting.

they didnt beat blackman. we played a district game against white county tonight and will start lincoln co. border battles tomorrow.

Blackman has a concession stand between the bleachers!!! We have a huge variety of candy, sandwiches, etc. Mr. Nowitall..you need to have one of our "famous" grilled pork chop sandwiches. They are simply...........the best. Our field is nicer than Warren County's too. Their restrooms take FOREVER to get to.

Blackman's players: Juniors: Outfielders, Brittney Travis, Stephanie Stahr, Tajaida Jackson and catcher Courtney Cahoon Sophomores: Short stop (injured) Ashley Buchanan, pitcher Natalie Papini, second base Lauren Dorsett, outfielder/replacement short stop, Breanna Zeis Freshman: third base, Amanda Hunley These are the starters. Additional players are: sophomores, Courtney Anderson, Courtney Hensel, Alex North, Chelsea Fedun, Cassandra Griffin Freshmen: Cara Dill, Tasha Miller, Sam Damron, Daryien Wright

Blackman's starting nine this year went like this: Seniors one Juniors four Sophomores three (one starter out because of injury) Freshmen one They have a great freshmen class this fall. Look for good things to come.

Blackman defeated Siegel last night in the bottom of the 7th 4-3.

If you are talking about the Page High School tourney....the rain won. My opinion...they called it way too soon. It stopped raining by 3:30 and the teams could have played on. They may not have been able to finish the entire tourney, but it would have been whittled down some. I have never been at a tourney where they called it so soon.

Was there an "all-tournament" team picked from the 7aaa tournament held in Cookeville? If so, please list who was named to that team. If not, can someone please explain why an all tournament team was not named. Thanks

I say I'm glad it is being held in Murfreesboro....centrally located, nice size town, great facilities...now if we can just control the weather!

Oh please...please......don't tell me about Riverdale fans complaining about umpires. Every team's fans complain.......Riverdale included. I agree w/Blazinspeed.....Cat gets quite a nice margin on the outside curve ball during district games. Riverdale--you had a great team this year. Good luck next year.
