Greenfield got beat by Bradford in the first round of district 61-54. Greenfield has nothing left to say this year.

It does not matter who comes out of your district. They are all going to get beat in the first round of the region. Gleason, Bradford, Lake Co, and Union City will all prevail.

Since I began the topic, I guess I should give my opinion. MVP is Brown from Union City. Coach of the Year is close between Sisco(Union City) and Eddings(Bradford). Each coach has done a great job and either coach is deserving. Which is harder - getting a talented team to live up to their potential or a getting a team to play above their potential. Tough decision but I would give the slight favor to Sisco just because he went undefeated in 14A but Eddings has done wonders with Bradford.

Who is the 14A MVP and Coach of the Year?

Greenfield visits Trenton Peabody tonight and Bradford will travel to Halls on Tuesday. These two games have a big bearing on 14A seedings. Trenton and Bradford are battling for that 4th spot and a home game in the first round of the district.

Coach Eddings was out because of the stomach virus. I am sure that had some effect on the team

Humboldt 74 Bradford 65 Interesting note - Coach Eddings was out because of the stomach virus. I believe Bradford has clinched the 4th spot in the district. They have a one-game lead over Peabody with one game to play but Bradford has the tiebreaker over Peabody.

I admit Bradford beating UC is slim, but remember, Bradford did beat Humboldt by 23 points and against Lake Co the game was tied with 3:00 minutes to play. After seeing Bradford play a few times this year, I know that Larry Eddings will have them prepared and they will not go into the game afraid. Again, chances are slim but anything is possible. You do not get to 8-4 in the district 14A without doing something right.

What was the score of the Halls-Humboldt boy's game last night?

It was a really good game. Bradford controlled the pace of the game but Lake Co was just too athletic around the basketball. I attended the game and of the 5 charges Bradford took, 4 were legit and 1 was definitely a bad call. Lake Co is so athletic and can simply create their own shots. Give it to Bradford, they played hard and tough. Lake Co kept shooting threes being up 8-9 points and hit a three with about 15 seconds remaining. Final score was definitely not an indication of the closeness of the game. Give it to Lake Co, they turned it on the last few minutes.

Some coaches sit down and some coaches are up all the time. There are some quality coaches who are up and barking. It mostly has to do with personality of the coach. Coaches who do their work in practice usually reflects in their team's play. Just take a look a college games to see if the majority are up or sitting down. Sometimes coaches give their teams what they need - times to sit down and shut up and times to get up and bark. I personally like the ones who are up and into the game with the kids but some do take it to far.

Bradford lead 28-27 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to win 65-46.
