"Power" was never used in my original comment. However, at one time most teams in the county were respected. Harpeth had a nice run of district championships in football, Cheatham and Sycamore advanced into the playoffs, often upsetting higher seeds, so on an so forth. Now, its not good at all. In the mid 90's Cheatham had beaten Smyrna, Hendersonville, several in the playoffs on a routine basis. Now? Harpeth advanced to the Quarters, getting bested by Milan, Huntington, GREAT TEAMS! Sycamore also advanced into the playoffs, won district championships, beat higher seeded teams, but no more. Power, no, but respectable. To be watched out for. Now, thanks to the rubes that ran the school system for the last 12 years, the doldrums. And afterthought. The Dregs.

Tharpe and Winkler called it years ago. Look at the state of athletics in Cheatham County at present. Deplorable. All in the name of better test scores, yet not discernible difference had been made. $$$$ were spent on compensation packages for multiple supt's and higher ups, all the while activities being cut for students. It's a shame. At one time people feared the Cheatham teams in most every sport, especially football. Now, they play more homecomings than Red Boiling Springs. Travesty.

He treats his players like his own children? lol, ok, that should work out well. I hope he does well, but, school systems should be careful and do due diligence before swooning to a "good interview" Been there, done that, got the tshirt.

Fire all involved. Ban all involved from TSSAA forever. Marion county should be cited and put on probation for lack of institutional control and the team should be out of the playoffs immediately. Unfortunate for the kids, but considering the playsheets, etc, stolen, no one knows for sure if they actually would have even made the playoffs without cheating. Conjecture.

Had the administration done its due diligence in the hiring of the Head Coach (or would not have ignored what everyone told them), this would have never happened. Play with snakes. Get bit. Ashamed for the kids, Punish the coaches to the fullest extent of the law and NEVER allow them to coach in the state of TN again. NEVER allow them to be around kids.

At any rate, both are 1-4. Doesnt really matter how, 1-4 is 1-4. One may be well better than the other, but bottom line is bottom line. Cheatham County Schools have slowly and deliberately destroyed extra curricular activities. No right minded person would allow their child to live in such an "afterthough" of a school system. It is truly disgusting.

Dont know the man from adam, and wish him good luck. BUT, it needs to be known now they have now hired their 4th candidate at best. Jak left, Jackson left but was called to take the job after Jak left (he laughed at them), Hatley was called after Jackson laughed at them..........he laughed too. This system is a complete joke.

Thats not gonna happen. This issue is ALL on the school board. Make no mistake, they are gonna hire someone. Some slappy just starting out (which may not be a bad thing), or some rehash who cant get on anywhere else. Bad new is, the word is out state, if not nationwide, on this joke of a school board and supt. No one reputable will attempt to get the job. In all likelyhood, a young buck, which is not a bad thing but is unfortunate considering "what could have been"

Make the Inbred Mafia can pack their grip and head back to the foothills of the Godforsaken land they were ran out of years ago!!! When you hire hillbillys, you get cousins......and cousins....and cousins.....all living together!

They hire Jacobick (sp) and didnt tell him that he had 2 coaching supplements, the offensive co was leaving, he had to take care of his own fields, field house, and summer weights. Also didnt tell him he COULD NOT hire non faculty coaches and pay them ANYTHING. Even out of his pocket, boosters, or any other way!! Now you tell me................is the central office out of control or what? Teachers, coaches, janitors, EVERYONE should walk away. Parents, this system is in shambles and is the laughing stock of the state of TN. It will get worse.

Actually, it doesnt have to be. Starts at the top. Hire good people, cut unneeded positions at the central office and put the monies back where they belong.............teach and coach the kids..................watch what happens. People dont want to hear it, but this started with Bruce Gibbs, worsened under Sieferts watch, and nosed in with Webb. This is not a recent occurrence. Fix it.

The next step would be the election of a complete new school board under the auspice of replacement of the Supt. Also, election of county commissioners who realize whom they serve and whose money they are spending when they send the CCSB money. Another angle would be teacher filing more and more lawsuits vs the system. How many have been filed and acted upon in the last 3 years by teachers in the system??

Question is................WHAT are the people of Cheatham County going to do when nothing they voiced is acted upon? They are playing us for fools! Its a challenge!! Who is going to back down??"??

Proffitts rendeavous with Webb are soon to be common knowledge (not that its not already) also. The Hohenwald mafia will turn on each other soon, cutting each others throats like scoundrels do. The last two supts. of Cheatham county have been fired by previously the state dept. along with other school systems (or contracts bought out so the would leave!). Webb, Curtis, jail time looms men. Ready to cut your losses yet? Giles County school system...............nervous yet?

That is correct, but she didnt assume power until after they had all graduated. Then, after retiring from Metro and the state system (while working with Webb), she came back knowing just a LITTLE bit more than everyone in her "ignorant" county. She is an arrogant, depraved, evil woman with bad intentions............and now, its time for her to go.

Curtis, Webb, the lot of them, are common. Its not their fault. Pick up a snake, it bites you. No surprise there. The question is, who keeps picking up the snakes, getting bit, then claiming it didnt happen? Proffitt must go. No questions asked. The evil behind the thrown. Period.

Its no hardship........its the people of Cheatham Countys fault for continuing to stand for this lunacy. How much longer will it take? How much more abuse will the children of this county have to take? The kids deserve better. Politics ALWAYS sinks to the least common denominator when apathy among the constituents is present.

TBI investigation of illegal use of monies by the school system is looming. The summer will not pass without charges, on some level, being filed.

Lock the thread based on what? People giving their opinions on what is obviously and anti-athletic school system? Punished?, the best thing that could happen to your brother is if he went elsewhere. He deserves better than this bunch of idiots. Staying is damaging his career.
