Does any Jacket fans know what some of the standout players from last year are doing.

I do know that Cal Welch is working as a referee, and I work at the same factory as Kurt McGowan, but what about some of the others.

Also, does anyone have any info on players from the 98 state championship team. That was my senior year, and I was wondering what some of the players from that team are doing now.

I know Eli Sanders played for Navy, I believe.

I always figured we would see Michael Scruggs in the pros. I do know he is married and got kids.

But what about Payne, Marshall, and Carey.

TC has a 2-3 record. Only winning records make the Big Ones. That's why it is not there.

I know it was only Monterey but it was a show of life from our boys that i hadn't seen before that night. I know that y'all are extremely talented but we are more talented than we played like at the first of the season. I look forward to friday night. GO JACKETS!

I expect a decent game. Both teams are improved from the first of the season.

Steve Trapp is a good coach fans and players just need to be patient with.

I believe next year will be a winning year for them.

They'll have a group of seniors that have had a lot of playing time the last two years.

Gordonsville vs. Trousdale

Gordonsville vs. Smith County and Westmoreland. I know those two schools are 2A but, they are big rivalries. Westmoreland used to be in G-ville's region back in the 80's. It's not what it used to be but it's still big.

Almost everyone in Smith County goes to the SC vs. G-ville game.

I was thinking that y'all beat us in an overtime game on the creek bank back in about 94 or 95. I might be wrong though if anyone knows i'd like to hear about it. I have always loved this game and look forward to it every year. One thing you can count on from GVILLE is that they always play hard and never quit. This will be alot closer game than i first anticipated having Blake back. I don't know if we've got the horses to pull this one off but i like our chances for the upset. My prediction is TC 21 GVILLE 20

The overtime game was in 95 and TC won that one. It was my freshman year.

G-ville hasn't won since 87 or 88.

Having Blake back is a plus, but I don't think one person can make that much of a difference but you never know for sure.

I like G-villes chances in this game.

Maynord has too much class to run up any score. I say the Owls win by at least 40 though. B/c the Owls 2nd team is better than the Bees 1st team. You cant expect the owls 2nd team to go out there and not want to score. So Ill say 42-0, just b/c the owls Defense is that good.

I said that the Owls would score 52 points simply because I think their reserves are that good.

I would compare this game to when G-ville played Mount Juliet Christian. I know we had at least 5 backups score touchdowns. I believe it will be this way with SC and Upperman.

For Gordonsville to win they will have to cut out the stupid penalties, stay mentally sharp throughout the game (stay with the schemes on defense and not get fooled for the long ball), and take advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves.

 

Penalties have been a problem for us all year. Last night was just another example. Fortunately we weren't seriously hurt by them, but you can't give a team like TC any extra advantage.

 

If we get the ball off a turnover (like last night on the punt) we have to take advantage and when we get the ball close to the goal line we have to score. I know this sounds like stating the obvious, but at times this year....

 

Every player in BLUE should have to watch the tape of Jordan Davis on special teams last night. That's the way a special teams player is supposed to play.

 

MY PREDICTION: The streak finally ends...Gordonsville 27 - Trousdale County 21.

I agree with you completely.

You can't play sloppy and win against a team like Trousdale County, this was proved against Smith County.

52 points is alot croz....I wouldn't even tread in that deep of a prediction.

Our second string put up one score against them, so I know SC's could probably put up more than that.

Also to the guy who made the post about Maynord not running up the score, If a team can't stop your second or third string, Is it really running up the score?

Croz, did you attend the game? Seen several TC players there. Just ponder what they think now. Clint may have been there on the other side. Or I missed him. Think maybe theres something happening with coach Medely being in the mix now? He scares the ---- out of the players. When he speaks they listen. Theres respect and fear. Military style describes it best. In the booth the opposing coach must feel something, just knowing he is there..

Oh, I'm at every game.

I didn't see any TC players or coaches, but I didn't look either. I thought they may have been at the FCS game.

It's hard to say what they may be thinking now. I thought there were times when GV was playing sloppy, but maybe that was just me.

I did enjoy watching the passing game come alive.

I'd also say that Upperman must have watched enough film to know that they couldn't hit Alexander high and take him down. Almost all of them went for his legs and he was still running over them.

On a serious note, SC 52-0, and yes, I'm completely serious.

I believe that this is a hard game to predict, due to the fact that TC has been hard to figure out this year.

I have to go with G-ville by two td's on this one.

I know Satterfield was out the Macon Co. game. What games were the other injured players out?

I saw Lookout Valley play Gordonsville last year, and I was impressed with their athleticism.

It was a blowout, but I expected big things from them in Region 3 this year.

Congrats on the win tonight G-ville.. as for which TC team that will show up. I would prefer the the team that has won two. I look foward to what I hope, a good 1A region 4 football game. (Alot will be at stake).

If Gordonsville can win It will mostly solidify the region standings.

However, If Trousdale wins, it will really shake things up.

I hope for a good game. Gordonsville has played some weaker teams the past couple of weeks.

This game will be a good measuring stick for both teams.

It will be Gordonsville's toughest since Westmoreland.

Gordonsville just coming off of a 42-7 win over Upperman, and Trousdale having a bye week.

Which Trousdale will show up the one that beat Livingston and Monterey or the one that lost to Smith County and Watertown.

I have to say I didn't expect that.

My biggest pet peeve about football is how people go to a high school game to watch there kid or someone in there family play ball and sit a talk the whole game to there neighbor they have seen all week everyday, not paying attention to anything going on in the game until the fireworks go off. But on Saturday or Sunday hoping in the car excited as all get out acting crazy in the orange and white or there blue and red. Fans of Smith County I'm calling you out!!! These kids, your kids, need your help and support. Treat these kids like you treat those in the orange on Saturdays. Treat these kids like you treat those in the blue on Sundays. Rally behind your home team. Not Knoxville's team or Nashville's team. Cheer for you own kids and watch the game. Who cares about who else is at the game. Your kids are playing a game they love. SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!!!

The Harriman Blue Devils will be tuff this year. they are showing everybody what they are made of. Region 2 is the tuffest region i think.

You beat a Monterey team from Region 4 that more than likely won't make the playoffs.

You also didn't beat them convincingly. 24-6 shouldn't be the score when a so-called contender beats a team from another region that won't make the playoffs.

Friendship is #1 in the state. Gordonsville should be in the top 10. Watertown is 10th.

And, I don't know of many teams that want to play Trousdale as a 4th seed in the first round.

Region 4 all the way. This region is the home to the future state champion.

Im sure you know more about this than I do but I was told that he got into the wreck the night of the Upperman G-ville game.. Heard he was celebrating after the game. Like I said though Im sure you know more on the subject than I.
