  1. I have to agree with noonesfool concerning the line play. I know Science Hill's O-line has been going against a great defense in practice everyday and breaking down practice and game film to get better. Our O-line hasn't arrived yet, but we have come a very long way. I am proud of you guys. Its quit simple . . . if our O-line continues to improve and give our fine stable of running backs (Duanah, Kinley, Canepa) holes to run thru and protect our THROWING and running QB(Hill), it could be a long night for the Smoky Bears. I know Sevier has lost a lot of players from last year, but the fine coaching and good athletes are always a major threat. P.S. I'm just glad Mr. Watson is at Tennesse Tech this year.
  2. Burke Toney field was really nice! And that play clock is really cool . . . I wish everyone had the facilities you all have over there in Morristown.
  3. WOW . . . I'm shocked at the score. The Greenville team I seen on TV this week playing Boone couldn't have been the same team that beat Sullivan South! Goes to show you . . . you never know. Congratulations Green Devils! Curt Phillips is the real deal, huh?
  4. No, Tomas Hill didn't start at QB . . . and if my memory serves me correctly he didn't go in as QB until the second half. Someone corrrect me if I am wrong.
  5. It was a good win last night and it was good to blank a tougher than their record shows M-West team. M-West has some good-looking athletes as usual, but just couldn??™t put it all together. Science Hill really out matched the Trojans, but the Trojans played hard and hung tough. I saw a Science Hill team getting better with every game. It was a great team effort and the O-line for the Hilltoppers have improved 100%. Great job to Coach Miller on what you are doing with the O-line. The defense . . . well, tough as nails as was expected. Again, great team effort. I still think #2 Tomas Hill is the QB of the hour. I know Coach Smith has another year to work with Daniel Sharp and Tomas is a senior, but I really think Tomas Hill is clearly the #1 QB this year that should be in the game not only as a running QB, but a passing QB also. It just seems to me the offense is a greater threat when Hill is the QB. (I??™m not knocking D. Sharp, he is a fine QB) It is just my opinion of what I see. The officiating was atrocious again. Things will really get serious as the conference play begins this Friday with Sevier County.
  6. There is no way SHHS is not taking M-W seriously. M-W has always been known for their strength, good coaching and always at least one very good running back. I can??™t remember the last time a Coach Woods team was 1-2 to start off the season. I am sure he will have them ready and I am sure he will have them rolling as your season goes into conference play. My concern is our offense, which in the first two games showed to be pass happy in one and run happy in the other. So I am kinda waiting to see what Coach Smith is going to do in this one. I am not at all concerned with our defense, which is very stout. I heard the artificial turf is the same as Carson-Newman??™s? Good luck to Morristown West and lets pray for an injury free game
  7. Like I said before . . . If Duanah rushes for 120+ yards, Science Hill wins this one! And nothing towards QB Sharp (I think he is a fine qb), but I would like to see Hill in as QB because his two-dimensional threat as a running and throwing QB. The artificial turf should bold well for SHHS. We??™ll see . . . Science Hill wins this game in a tough one.
  8. Pick your poison . . . either way run or pass, Phillips can beat you. And by the way, he has more than one receiver. And a pretty good running back too.
  9. I think with Jefferson County being at home will give them the edge on this one. Patriots by 3.
  10. Okay . . . I think it is time to talk about this one, although Mo. West is 1-2 this week. This game will be played on the artificial turf at Morristown, which should make for good footing for the quick and the fast. In short . . . If Duanah rushes for 120+ yards . . . Science Hill wins this one! Hopefully he won’t be hampered with leg cramps like he has experienced in the first two games, which has cut his playing time.
  11. Solomon Duanah from Science Hill must be one of the best in East Tennessee if not the state. Ranked #1 overall in a Nike combine in Charlotte, NC this summer. 5’9” 205 lbs. 4.5/40 335 lbs bench press 505 lbs squat
  12. I think D-B is better than most people think and Bearden "may not" be the powerhouse that most people think. We'll see . . . D-B by 1.
  13. D-B takes a rare loss in regular season play this week. Good luck and injury free to both teams.
  14. I know Hampton is a 1-A school, but I can't help but think they belong somewhere in the Top 10. I know most of the kids play both ways and they have very little, if any depth. But, they are very strong! If they stay healthy, they should challenge for the state title this year. (if Campbell doesn't screw it up)
  15. TriCitiesSports.com Top 10 for Northeast Tennessee: Week 0 1. Sullivan South (1-0) 2. Greeneville (1-0) 3. Dobyns-Bennett (1-0) 4. Morristown West (0-1) 5. Morristown East (0-0) 6. Tennessee High (0-1) 7. Science Hill (0-1) 8. Jefferson County (0-1). 9. Volunteer (0-0) 10. Elizabethton (1-0) Others Considered: Sullivan East, David Crockett, Daniel Boone, Hampton, Cherokee.
  16. You are more than welcome Yeah, we're struggling a little bit, but I think we will be alright. Bring on those "Hill Killers" on over Friday night, we'll be waiting on you. Good luck to you guys, and no injuries!
  17. #51 Jeff Green played great! Also #25 Caleb Mancuso, #58 Will Renjtel, #50 Cory Hamilton and #86 Zach Jordan all had a good game on defense.
  18. Well . . . I Hope Science Hill goose eggs Betsy, but we will see. I read in today's paper that Coach Smith is going to the "nuts and bolts" of the offense. "We want to enhance the execution and have our kids not think, but just play." I'm anxious to see our offense to move the ball down the field and score. I personally don't care if it is an exciting offense to watch or not. I just want to see us move the ball and win games. Without a doubt, Coach Smith is going to need some time with the Science Hill "program" as a whole to really develop his style of play. Unfortunately my son is a senior and doesn't have the time, but will be moving on. But, this years junior, sophmore and freshman classes are really talented. And the 8th grade team has 60 kids on it. Rome wasn't built in a day. Science Hill wins this one in the home opener
  19. Good heavens! It’s one lousy game lost and everyone wants to criticized and put down Coach Smith and the Science Hill Hilltoppers! Is there any coach out there that hasn’t lost a game for whatever reason?? The great coach Quarles from Maryville? Or coach Rankin from Alcoa? Joe Paterno? Bear Bryant? Steve Spurrier? Or how about Nick Saban? Noo . . . I think everyone has lost a few games here and there. Com’on now . . .Give him a break!
  20. You are soo witty and funny too . . . you must do stand-up?
  21. Okay . . . I didn’t want to say to much last night after the game other than to congratulate South for the well deserved victory because my emotions were still running a little high and I wanted some time to think about the game. South – Definitely more than a one man team. Phillips is a very talented QB as was expected. I held my breath every time he had the ball. His arm is strong and his feet are quick. Tough kid too…he had a few licks put on him like the one when #44 hit him and his helmet flew off and he jumped right up and went back to the huddle. Very tough! Science Hill – Well . . . my worst fears came true on offense. Our spread no-huddle offense wasn’t working for whatever reason(s). I was hoping for a change to a (fullback and double tight ends in) ground attack or something different, but it never happened. I thought SH’s defense looked pretty good in the first half, but I knew we were out there too much and too long to keep up the pace with the speedy South. I was glad to see that SH held Phillips to only 36 yds on 15 carries. That’s a positive, although we were torched with 227 yds passing, most of which I believe was in the second half. Good luck to you guys at South and I hope you run the table. Just a note: I thought (IMO) it was a bit disrespectful of South not to take a knee when a SH player was down and the Rebel flags flying everywhere are too (I will not engage in a debate). I am moving on . . . Betsy is the focus now.
  22. Congratulations Sullivan South . . . You beat us fair and square! Best wishes for the rest of the season.
