There may be players in 1-A that have done more on offense or more on defense, but I doubt there are any that have done more on both sides of the ball than Joel Essenburg of TCA. I believe thru 9 games he has close to 1,000 all-purpose yards, 12 TD's, close to 100 tackles and 8, yes 8, Interceptions. And don't forget the most important stat of all...a 4.0 GPA.

Glad to see Joel Essenburg of TCA get some well deserved recognition. I agree with all of your comments. TCA and Fayette both had wake-up calls last night...TCA letting Wayne County back in the game after leading 28-0, and Fayette losing their first of the season. If TCA can keep Fayette's running game under control, I think it will come down to turnovers and penalties, like most close games do. This one could go either way...too close to call.

TCA is a huge sleeper...last year was tough due to injuries and off the field problems. Look out for this team in '06...their first 4 games will tell the tale...
