  1. Interesting article. I must be missing something. McCallie is a D2 school, and there is D2 Crosscountry. Why couldn't they participate in the D2 championship?
  2. Nothing like re-reading old Coach T messages... (Dad bragging Alert!!!) Kris had a Great Season at Tennessee Tech! She finished 3rd on the team in goals (4) and points earned (12), playing in 20 games of 22 games for 1271 minutes, starting in 16 of them. team stats... http://www.ttusports.com/sports/wsoc/20 ... amcume.htm Prior to the start of the OVC tournament, they announced the Conference level awards. Kris was chosen to the All-Freshman/Newcomer team, was picked to the All-Conference team (1st Team), and was chosen as the (Co) Freshman of the Year for entire conference. http://www.ttusports.com/sports/wsoc/20 ... _4_all_ovc The team did much better than expected in the conference tournament. As the #4 seed, and playing against #5 (Eastern Illinois), they were down 0-2 in the quarterfinal match, but came back to win 3-2 in 2OT. In the Semi-Final game, they were up 1-0 against #1 seed Morehead State, but ended going into Overtime after being scored on late in the game. In the 2nd Overtime period, with just over a minute to go, Kris scored the game winner. http://www.ttusports.com/sports/wsoc/20 ... /11_6_semi The final match was not so good, and Tech lost 0-4. Afterwards, they announced the All-Tournament team, and Kris was again honored as a member of the All-Tournament squad. http://www.ttusports.com/sports/wsoc/20 ... 1_8_finals Not a bad freshman year! Yes, I'm violating my own rule about not mentioning your kid's name, but as this board seems pretty dead right now, nobody will probably read this...
  3. I heard the same thing this morning from the parent of a CN player.
  4. "Cousin" Randy and I aren't on speaking terms since a certain un-named incident that happened one Thanksgiving when we were kids.
  5. As much as it pains me, I have to agree with Canes (on this ONE POST!!!!).
  6. Danielle Ciabattone Notre Dame High School, Express 91 then FCAlliance, Lee University Carissa Sanchez, Baylor School, Lee University Sarah Rogers, Boyd Buchanan, Columbus State University (GA)
  7. As the class of 2010 signees are announed tomorrow, please add them here. Include - Name, high school, club, and college
  8. I believe he once had a daughter on the team, but it was more than 5 years ago.
  9. Canes actually had a good thought idea! Let's try this. Why don't we specifically mention off the field contributions that should warrent special acknowledgement or note. It might be boosters contributing or finishing some long term project (like raising enough money to install lights or covered benches or similar), or some other activity worthy of note by the Tennessee soccer community. You might not even know the specific individual involved. Coaches and players are not eligible, except for something they did off the field. I'll start it off with one. The guy at the Notre Dame home games that does the announcements on the P.A. Some may think he gives too much info, but I don't agree. He makes a point of naming all substitutes, shots, saves, etc for both teams. I think he adds real value to the enjoyment of the fans, and hey, who doesn't like to hear their name mentioned, if only for coming into the game, or making a good shot, etc.
  10. Somebody with the Knoxville paper, go ahead and key in the whole team...
  11. I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned this yet. Brittany Hoffman, CAK named player of the year for the Knoxville Area http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/dec/0 ... artner=RSS
  12. I had that same rule back when I was younger. Except it was to never mention myself. Yet I can do this now, otherwise I'd be breaking one of my own rules right now... Coniglio, just because you have some wild chin hair to go with the stuff on top doesn't make you an old man. You're still a kid in my book! Don't you have some exams you need to be studying for?
  13. I was just trying to avoid violating one of my "Rules for Coach T" -- never mention your own kid's name...
  14. Great job Dee, and all the girls that got honored. A little ND bragging... 3 of the last 4 BOP POY have been from Notre Dame, and 4 of the last 6 2009 - Danielle, headed to Lee 2008 - (I forget, but I think she's playing at Tennessee Tech) 2006 - Jamie Cooper, playing at MTSU 2004 - Nicki Brannen - was at UTC, but now plays for Carson Newman
  15. What, no comments on the all state sections? I would have expected some congratulatory comments, and even a little trash talking (I can't believe so-and-so made it, she was injured all season, why did so-and-so make it as a forward, she played defense all season, etc). I guess the board is truly dead for the season. What about this? 1. Why isn't there a list for D2-A? (or am I just missing it) 2. What about the differing size of the all state selections? For D2-AA, there were 23 picked. For A/AA, there were 30. For AAA, 55. The divisions aren't evenly sized, so I don't expect even numbers, but are these the right numbers? Given the small # of schools in D2-AA, are there too many listed? Does AAA really have 83% more schools/athletes, or how is this decided? 3. The last discussion that usually comes up is whether someone's selection should be based on this year's work (only), their body of work, club work, etc.
  16. If I'm not mistaken, the decision on what city will host the tournament is a bid process where cities put together a package, and then T$$AA decides. I doubt the decision on being centrall located or not carries as much weight as whether Chattanooga's proposal guarantees more money to T$$AA than a package from Murfreesboro or Hendersonville. To Canes, no i never considered CCS as being a disadvantage for Notre Dame. Within the city, our fans probably don't care one way or the other. Their field is certainly better than ours.
  17. Until you see a game played on Notre Dame's field, you opinion is irrelevant. Per the earlier posts, you know we play very few games on our own field. I don't have any problem with the 3 locations, I just wondered if CCS should host something other than A/AA, Baylor something other than D2, etc.
  18. I thought the CCS field was in great shape. It's a nice place to watch soccer. I'm sure GPS and Baylor fields were also in great shape. Especially given the weather we've had this season, that was a pleasant surprise. I think it is still a valid question about schools like CCS and Baylor being able to play in the post season on their own/home fields. Don't know why they don't host A/AA at GPS and AAA at CCS. Don't know whether or not it creates an unfair advantages (like when CCS let their school out to come to their game)
  19. Juvenile comments aside from both sides of the state, A/AA division has over 80 soccer teams, if I'm not mistaken. D2 (small and large) are the division with limited numbers.
  20. Yes, 1 ticket will work all day, coming and going. In fact, unless there is a change, you can even go from CCS to GPS with the 1 ticket. Having said that, when I went to Spring Fling this past spring, I wanted to use a single ticket for Track and Tennis, but was told that I couldn't do it. Bottom line, double check at the gate....
  21. I'll probably come to the Thursday game (if we make it) and most definitely to the finals (again, if we make it). I hope to make Wednesday's games, though after that, I'm heading to a different post-season tournament -- the OVC Women's Soccer Tournament, to see a certain red-head play...
  22. I agree. I think Greeneville vs. Page and CPA vs. CCS should be best games of the first round. We'll see this week if the Page scoring sensation is all she has been promoted to be, or if (as some people have suspected), her stats have been inflated by running up the score against weak opponents.
  23. Greenville Notre Dame CPA CAK Notre Dame CAK Notre Dame Total goals - 35
  24. Everybody that gets to state has earned it, so Notre Dame needs to be careful not to overlook Dyersburng. Having said that, I'm curious on any kind of scouting report on Dyersbug. Do they have balanced team, or some one or two strong players? What about their goalie? Do they have bench strength?
  25. I just wanted to congratulate Notre Dame on their hard fought 1-0 win. I also want to say to the Silverdale players and parents, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You have a great goalie, and several other very strong players. As you coach indicated, your bench/depth is an area to work on. You played ND hard the entire game, and a lucky break or two and the outcome might have been different. Hope the girl who left with the hip injury is ok.
