  1. Chasanooga....I am completely impressed with your knowledge of the game. Have you considered covering soccer for the local media? Thanks for your hope for the Baylor team in the playoffs. I believe our schedule will help us in making a run for the title....at least that is my hope. There are alot of quality D2 teams that will try to stop Baylor for sure. Again, best of luck to the Irish. Your team sure has the talent to make a deep run in A/AA and hopefullly go all the way
  2. Bluelion, glad to have to you following Baylor soccer! Please introduce yourself at a game sometime. Baylor played another outstanding opponent last night in Notre Dame and came out victorious. Baylor has had a brutal schedule so far and has performed extremely well. This should really help going into post season play. To the Notre Dame team...you played an outstanding game. I know how badly you wanted to win this game and your performance certainly showed that. But as with Baylor...this game will do nothing but make you better going into postseason. Good luck in state this year. We are blessed with several outstanding soccer teams this year in Chattanooga that should make alot of noise and hopefully bring home some hardware in several divisions. Again, good luck to all. ote name='bluelion' date='Sep 24 2008 - 01:10 PM' post='826867639'] Well said MVM. Glad you said this because I was starting to think you were always against Baylor now I understand some of your posts. I am a Red Bank guy and have been for many years. Just also happen to love soccer and unfortunatley soccer has not taken hold like football has at Red Bank. So on Friday nights I am following the Lions wherever they go. But kindof adopted the Baylor teams in soccer (don't have a kid that has ever gone there) just because of the excellence they always seem to possess. I just love watching quality soccer and you can pretty well count that the Baylor girls and boys are going to a have a good team year in and year out. That does not mean that I do not pull for other teams as well because I do. But I have grown to really admire the product that they continually put out. So for me it is go Red Bank in football and go Baylor in soccer!
  3. Well said chasanooga. These girls have been together a long time and their friendships are special for sure. That senior season comes along way too fast no doubt. I am really looking forward to another Baylor Notre Dame game. This one should be a great game. I hope for an injury free game most of all ....and hope it will also be a thrilling game.....but hope for another Baylor victory!
  4. Another Baylor turnover. Baylor throws an interception on their own 20 and BA scores.
  5. Congratulations Baylor! Great road win over another great opponent.
  6. Bad part is Baylor is being a great host. We just threw an interception on the BA 1 yard line. Instead of a score and a bigger lead....BA scores and goes for two. Tie game with 3 minutes in the third quarter.
  7. I agree with you jon26, Baylor's Sam Williams is just awesome. Last night's 325 yard broke a Baylor single season rushing record which was previously 311 yards. In just 3 games now Sam has about 585 yards. Did not play last year at all and has been so much fun to watch playing soccer. I know the football program is glad he came out for football and he is just a junior.
  8. I agree Chattcity. Congratulations to MBA and their great start to the season....but yes the game with Baylor was a real test. The Red Raiders played with alot of heart.
  9. Spoken like a true Mom and fan. I guess we all take in what our own students and fans do and really get into the color and tradition. I know that I do as well. I agree that all aspects...not just the game make it such an experience!
  10. DonCChatt....you beat me to the punch. I was surprised by how much Baylor dominated the game. I am so proud of our boys and girls soccer program. Please feel free to predict against the Red Raiders anytime! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  11. NDSean, the game is at 7:00 at Baylor but I don't know anything about a JV game. I may be wrong but I am not aware of it. Hope you will be at the game.
  12. It does not get any better than #1 against #2. I expect to see alot of other high school soccer girls in the stands from various schools tonight to see some great soccer. I hope to see a great injury free game! Go Baylor!
  13. Thanks McCallie for the insight....but Baylor can't be 0-11 since they are 1-0 right now.
  14. Chattcity that is a good take on the situation. We just have alot of unknowns...but with that we do have some exceptional talent in Bret Murray, Sam Williams and Pickett at running backs. But really hard to know yet. Last year so much was expected of Baylor and it was the most horrific year for injuries. 11 or 12 starters out for the year...several had to have surgery. And they were seniors. This Friday will be, as everyone knows, a whole different ballgame. MBA was the best team I saw last year and it sounds like this is another tremendous MBA team. Baylor will have to grow up fast to compete....but I hold out hope. Congrats to MBA on their great win last week and..........Go Baylor!
  15. Really looking forward to a great game. Baylor 2 Bearden 1
  16. Fantastic start and congratulations to the Chattanooga teams! Keep up the good work and Go Baylor!
  17. what's your prediction quiksilver
  18. I did not get to see the games today but am driving up tomorrow to see Baylor and Brentwood. We have a great shot for sure to win it....but anything can still happen. I really expected CBHS to win tonight though.
  19. Then a 15 minute lapse with the player really should not be a big deal then. At this time of the season alot are sitting out more than they want with bumps and bruises, etc. Thanks for clearing the red card up.
  20. Thanks for your input. The handball did draw a hugh reaction as it would have if it had been it had been the other way around. But as you said that is the Baylor McCallie game. The non call was questionable at best....but I felt like the refs did a great job. Was a rough game....but on both ends for sure. I have enjoyed reading the posts on this thread as this game is just a different animal from most rivalries. Funny but except for soccerman08 and cincyred....most have pretty unbiased I think. Alot of the posters have nothing to do with either school....that is how big this rivarly gets. It was a very hard fought game and I believe both have a great chance to go to state. Hopefully even meet up again this year.
  21. All I can say is it was one outstanding high school soccer game between two outstanding teams. When these two play you know it is going to be physical as so much is always on the line between these long time rivals. Now I wish there had been a winner (Baylor) but besides that it was as good as it gets. Great soccer, loud, screaming fans, and no one got hurt. In any Baylor vs McCallie sport it is always a colorful, fun and heart pumping event. And I would bet that the two teams meet again in the playoffs....and I would not miss it for anything.
  22. You are right the field was pretty rough....having to play in rain as you mentioned can do that. Good luck to Hixson on the rest of your season. Hope you guys make the playoffs.
  23. Just found out the game has been cancelled. Don't know when it is rescheduled for....has to be rescheduled since it is a region game.
