  1. Here is an email I got at my work. I thought I would share with the rest of the Country. Its real. Its about OUR SERVICE PEOPLE over in Iraq and the realization of their lives. Remember, you may not agree with the war but they have no choice, they had to go and are paying the price. "SEA of Red" Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together. After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home. No, he responded. Heading out I asked? No. I'm escorting a soldier home. Going to pick him up? No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq I'm taking him home to his family. The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut. It was an honor for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many conversations in so few days. I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, Thank you. Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do. Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom. "Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States Marine Corps join us on this flight. He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign." Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be an American. So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and Women for what you do so we can live the way we do. Red Fridays. Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that ... every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is ..."We need your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something red every Friday. IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON. IF YOU COULDN'T CARE LESS -- THEN HIT THE DELETE BUTTON. AFTER ALL IT IS YOUR CHOICE.
  2. Here is the police officers prayer.......... In Remembrance . . . The Monument I never dreamed it would be me My name for all eternity Recorded here at this hallowed place Alas, my name, no more my face. "In the line of duty" I hear them say My family now the price will pay My folded flag stained with their tears We only had those few short years. The badge no longer on my chest I sleep now in eternal rest My sword I pass to those behind And pray they keep this thought in mind. I never dreamed it would be me And with heavy heart and bended knee I ask for all here from the past Dear God, let my name be the last. by Sgt. George Hahn, LAPD (Retired)
  3. Everyone... Today is a sad day. As we all know 5 years ago we had the attacks on New York and America. We lost close to 3,000 people that day including 343 FDNY and 60+ Police Officers. I know some of you may not want to talk about it or even think about it but if you could do one thing today please, spend time with your families. Huge your kids, husbands or wifes and let them know you love them and your brothers/sisters and parents. Remember, 9/11/01 was just an ordinary day when those 3,000 people went to work but were unable to say "I love you" to their love ones because they more than likely took it for granted like we ALL do sometimes. We all agree to disagree about our schools and we name call and say this and that about each other but we are ALL AMERICANS and we should and WE WILL NEVER FORGET. I dont care if your white, black, hispanic, asian, middle eastern, etc.... WE ARE ALL AMERICANS and we need to take care of each other. God Bless America Amazing Grace Lyrics "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see. T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear... the hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares... we have already come. T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far... and Grace will lead us home. The Lord has promised good to me... His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be... as long as life endures. When we've been here ten thousand years... bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise... then when we've first begun. "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.
  4. Blade would not be on here bashing anyone...... I'll guarentee that he probably does come on here and read what we ALL put but he will not post. I know this for a fact..... Plus, Blade respects the previous Coach too much to come on here and bash him. The previous coaches record speaks for itself. No matter if Blade liked the previous coach or not, he will not come on here and post. I even gaurentee it... So pick another person genius...
  5. I can't comment on who will win since I dont know who T-Town is and I dont know HHS other than Blade but I can say this. I know Blade pretty much took Canyon's offense (Blade changed it to his style of course) and they averaged 35 - 42 points a game last season. From seeing HHS's score last week they are on par to score the same amount this season........This game will come down to whom has the better defense. From reading your guy's post, this could be a nail biter...... I know in 2003 when Canyon had one of the best QB's in the nation (Nate Longshore - CAL Bears) and Valencia also had one of the best QB's in the nation (Michael Herrick - Now at U. of Mississippi) that game went to the last play... Canyon won 56 - 42. Blade was the D-Coordinator for Canyon. So Blade is use to high scoring games and getting the players to raise their attitude and game.... Not to mention playing Hart High School last season twice and winning by and average of 5 points. Game one Canyon 16, Hart 14...game two (CIF Championship game) Canyon 21, Hart 13. Hart is one of the most expolsive offenses in the entire country. Both of those games were about as intense as you can get....BTW, Hart and Canyon are cross town rivals.... Also, taking on Mission Viejo (ranked in the top 15 in the country for the past 4 seasons) with Mark Sanchez at QB (now at USC) also a very high scoring team. I know some of those stats mean absolutly nothing to you all, but just giving you all a little insight to what Blade faced here in California.
  6. believe me..... if nothing else, their defense will be one of the best in there division or region or whatever you have there....... Blade is a great defensive guy and has a mind like no one elses when it comes to it.... Probably one of the best linebacker coaches anywhere. I know when he coached Junior College football at Glendale College in Glendale, CA (1995 - 1997) he had 2 Jr College All-Americans and when he coached at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, CA (1998) he had I think 1 or 2 Jr College All-Americans. Then at Canyon (2001 - 2005) he coached 3 linebackers to All-Leauge and All-CIF honors not to mention I think he also had 3 or 4 of his O-Linemen make All-League and All-CIF honors also....
  7. How was Hillsboros win?? What was the score and how did the offense and defense look??? Good job Scott and the team. Sounds like you all are starting off on the right foot. Just keep imporving and trust me, with Blade at the helm, you'll be alright..... GREAT JOB
  8. IF any of you want to see Blade's old high school and the team he helped to last seasons CIF Division II Championship then read this artical....... Hope you have direct tv....... 9. Jman..... I will bet anything that a ton of those coaches in TN spend more time doing football crap then spending time with their families during season. I've heard from many people that if you want to recognized as a good football coach in HS athletics then you have to go coach in states like Tennesse & Texas..... Your states take HS football to a whole nother level and hold the coaches and the staffs to a standard thats head an shoulders above how most California cities do. If you had actually read what I put, I said "PROBABLY." Thats a lot different than saying he is. I wasnt knocking ANY coaches. Like I said previously, I was just giving everyone and insider look at how Blade is and what he expects. Scott expects to go out and compete and he even expects to go to the playoffs. He doesnt worry about wins and losses. If the kids execute there jobs correctly and give everything they have day in and day out, then they will be fine. This year is going to be a HUGE learning year for Scott and the team/program. It would not suprise me if they did lose some games this season that maybe they should have won but next season, I totally expect them to be a team everyone will have to worry about. Anytime you have a new HC/staff then there is going to be a learning curve. When I talked to Scott last, which was before he left to move to TN, he told me that he wanted to keep the majority if not the whole staff. He wanted them cause of their previous records and the relationships they have with the players. Not to mention, the information they could help Scott with in preparing for the upcoming games. He told me he thought the staff was a good bunch of guys and was excited to work with them. So I understand your loyalty to your coaches there. Trust me, I do. I am the sameway when it comes to Blade. He was the hardest coach and sometimes the biggest #### I ever played for but he was also the fairest and would do anything to help you. But trust me, that school is going to be very pleased with Scott and the kids will have a GREAT time. At times they will hate him cause like someone said previously he will hold them to a very high standard.
  10. WIP..... I never said Scott was the best coach to ever coach there and if thats how it came off, I maybe should have phrased some of my post differently. I did say that he MIGHT be the hardest working coach to ever coach there but thats my own bias opinion. I say this cause during the season at Canyon, it was a 7 day a week job for him along with the rest of us coaches. Basically, when Scott woke up to go to his job his kids were sleeping. When he came home at like 8 or 9p, his kids were sleeping. I know Scott will change things from when he was coaching at Canyon but he will certainly utilize what he learned from Harry Welch at Canyon. Like I said, I cant come on here saying Scott is the best thing since night baseball and pringles but he will certainly leave his mark. Scott dont care about where he stands as far as with the pass coaches. All he cares about is that the players give everything they have and that they do the little things right. If they do that, then everything else will be fine.
  11. Hello, Im from Southern California. Mainly Santa Clarita where Coach Blade is from. I want to personally say good luck to Hillsboro and Coach Blade on their game tomorrow. I personnaly know Scott. He was not only the HS player I looked up too and watched when he was an All League/All CIF linebacker at Canyon high but he was also my Linebacker coach at Glendale Community College here in Glendale, California. I can tell you all, Scott is probably the hardest working coach that school has PROBABLY ever had. I coached with Scott at Canyon in '04 and I can tell you, he knew EXACTLY what the other team was going to do both on offense and defense. He watches more game film than anyone I know. He is dedicated to the program and is dedicated to those players. He will die for those players if need be. Thats how he is. I will say this (and Scott if you read this, sorry bro) but he will work those kids like no one has ever worked them before. Those kids WILL BE READY for every game and EVERY situation that they face. I'm not going to come on here saying this or that about your teams in TN cause I dont know them or know what they can do but, for you guys rooting for the Burros or fathers on here who have kids on the team, Scott is more than ready. Here in California, especially in the Santa Clarita Valley, we have two of the top teams in the state if not the country in Hart High (Newhall) and Valencia High. Not to mention Mission Viejo who is ranked in the top 15 along with Canyon in the country this season. So he is use to being on and working a high profile team... Anyhow, take it how you want....just thought Id give a personal point of view from someone that knows him and how he works... Going to be interesting this season for Blade and the Burros... I wish them all the best...... Scott, if you read this give me a call brudda... Rob
