  1. AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH... "CAMPBELLITES" TO BOOT! I hope JCS takes the "Campbellite Cup!"
  2. I looked at those photos. It was downright weird... Our boys look almost identical... Down to the number... Except the green and the blue... of course... It's getting closer... Anyone have a countdown to kickoff? Less than 72 hours away...
  3. I didn't see where anyone else posted anything abuot JCS practice.. But JCS practice was held off-site too... I think in order to practice on a surface similar to MTSU... In fact, my boy just pulled in... See if I can get the scoop...
  4. No problem... I respect that... No religious debate here... It's football time...
  5. Are you alive and breathing? Do you believe John 3:16? Are you a child of God? Is God Omnipresent? Can the players walk? Run? Who gave them that ability? Can the coaches strategize? Think? Reason? Who gave them that ability? If you are on the football field God is there just like he is everywhere else you go. God didn't wind the world up like a top and leave it alone. He's involved in everything whether you think he is or not. I don't think anyone is saying that God cares who wins a football game... He loves everyone on the field and sidelines equally---he doesn't play favorites... If JCS or FCS football coaches are on the field and doing what they do for any reason other than to "glorify God" and especially to teach their young warriors to do that, then they are doing it for the wrong reason. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." (Colossians 3:23) That's why my kids are at a Christian school. (Not because they were recruited to play football) You don't separate that from anything---including football---homework---being a husband--- you get the point... That's what our coaches are teaching their kids to do... It's bigger than football... Heck... Football is bigger than football... If it isn't then it has no purpose! On the 6th game when JCS was 2-3... they dedicated themselves to something bigger than football... They dedicated themselves to give there all for God... "work at it with all their heart..." That included excellence on the field and sportsmanship in the way they treated their opponent... The result? 9-0 since that time? Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." Does that mean they'll win a 10th Friday? No... In fact, I think you've heard it very clearly from JCS folks--- "If we win we praise Him, If we lose we praise Him!" But, we have a great case, as does FCS, that great things happen when you work at it with all your heart...' Sorry, didn't want to preach but talk like that gets me far more fired up than Private-Public School talk... SUMMARY: If a child of God is on the field God's involved! Football or else--- 4:13!
  6. Yeah, that would open a whole other can of worms... Just couldn't believe no one had said it yet so I couldn't resist...
  7. Thanks! They will do their best! I'm sure you do look forward to seeing us in 2-A. I don't know how much we look forward to it. I'm assuming your a Milan Bulldog... Sorry about your game the other night. You guys have overcome a lot of adversity. I've heard that your team and fans have been through similar unifying experiences as our boys. Adversity, when handled correctly does make men! (4:13) Which, when all is said and done, is what the GAME of football is all about. Take it easy on us next year!
  8. Yeah, I see the G'ville and some of the other teams, especially in your region support you.... I think generally that is probably the case. Just a few people that don't. And of course, they are the most vocal. I just can't believe that 100+ page thread on the Hampton game. Whew... I was wanting to tell you guys: "hey, there is another game next week... Come over here into the light." lol... Let's talk about the green and the blue. The "Campbellite Cup."
  9. We appreciate it... We believe it too... I grew up in Middle Tennessee but I'll have to tell you I love the unity and the spirit of all the folks in West Tennessee... I feel sorry for the FCS fans with all the private-public wars... All we've heard is support... And we thank you! We need all of it we can get... Thanks Union City, McKenzie, Lake County, Milan, Humboldt, all of West Tennessee! I know our boys are going to give their all to bring back the gold ball for Jackson and West Tennessee! 4:13!
  10. Whose tradition is it? If you don't mind my asking...
  11. Sounds like your coaches are like ours. An earlier post said that your coaches have a different look for each opponent. Our coaches are the same. I saw at least 8-10 looks and plays I'd never seen before in the Mt. Pleasant game. I'm sure there were more. Our top two receivers only had one catch a piece in the Mt. Pleasant game. That is the way it is every game. A different person steps up... If you notice our stats they are very balanced. We don't have anyone with Mr. Football numbers but we have three receivers with around 500 yards receiving and at least that many more in the 100-250 yard range. Same thing with rushing yards. We have three running backs with almost identical yards... The kids don't mind at all... They are not out for themselves. They play for God's glory and they are truly a "Band of Brothers." Good coaches create good players. They also create great games to watch. I'm really excited about the game Friday!
  12. I didn't see where Gocart answered you. The answer is yes... We are going 2-A... We are moving to the toughest Region in West Tennessee too... Milan-Humboldt-Martin Westview-Trenton Peabody-USJ-Dresden-Gibson County. The one small morsel of good news for us is that they created a 9th Region and moved Huntington out of the Region... Like I said, a small morsel... It really stinks for our kids... There are schools three times our size in the Region. Of course, in the old days they didn't have classifications... But they'll have to live with it. And I'm sure they'll be fighters... It's their nature. Of course, this fact adds huge significance to our boys for this weekend. (Not that anyone needs that)
  13. Shoot no... Sounds kind of fun to me... It's obviously a pretty cool tradition for the boys and the fans... Sounds like it might have the same effect Rocky Top has on Tennessee fans (and their opponents!) Especially when it goes off a lot.
  14. Sorry, I've got to go against my nature and respond to this one. I know it is not from any of you FCS fans... Let's see 35-7, 28-7 and 42-14.... Hmmm... That's a whole truck load of luck... Sounds like someone is a little bitter because #21 ran over him. That's okay... Your not the only one he's run over. Okay, I'm through with the negativity... That one just got my feathers ruffled a little.
  15. JCM- Jackson Central-Merry. All this talk about the "horn" is killing me. Sounds like we need to "Fear the Horn!" as much as the Big Green....
  16. Yes, the kids. What an opportunity they all have from both teams. I don't know about you but I didn't have the opportunity to go this far and to be a part of a ride like this. I went to Franklin County and we always had Riverdale or Oakland (they were tough back in my day too...) waiting for us in the first round. (That is if we could get past Lincoln County to get there) Ouch... But, like most parents, I would rather my son have the experience than me. Words can't express the joy I had watching my son and his teammates after their big win last week. He is making memories for a lifetime and learning lessons that he will never forget. I'd say we are all a little carried away right now. Who with a pulse wouldn't be? But that's enough I've got to get back to work... I knew this would become an addiction. By the way, sorry for the incorrect spelling of Mt. Pleasant in my other post. Again, safe travels Tigers! 4:13 Eagles!
  17. Well Ladies and Gentlemen I've seen enough... This is my first time to comment or even look at this board. I've always been afraid it would become an addiction, which it looks like it has with some, so I've stayed away. Got to make a living you know. But I'm pretty excited just like the MP fans. Because, like the Tigers this is the Eagles first time in the Semis. No matter who wins one team that has never been there will be in the championship. Pretty Exciting! I don't know cottonman, I might work with him for all I know, but I do know this. Cottonman is not playing in the game Friday night. Just like most of us on this board aren't playing. MP'S kids can hear the words of Cottonman but I will assure you they are not the words of the JCS Eagles or their coaching staff. My son plays for JCS and I asked him yesterday what he thought about MP. His words, excuse me, word, was "WOW." That was pretty much the reaction of the entire team and the coaching staff. Believe me those of us in the stands over here in West Tennessee are comparing him to Springer, Bracey, etc... But no one, and I repeat no one on the JCS Coaching Staff or team is. They are making preparations for someone that has no comparison. A new standard in rushing quarterbacks, if you will. He may run over us, through us, and around us which it seems he has done to everyone else but it will not be because anyone on the JCS team or coaching staff took him lightly or failed to do their best to prepare for him. R-E-S-P-E-C-T is what they are giving to Marco and his teammates. So you can use the comments from Proud Dads and fans of JCS and West Tennessee football but they are not playing the game. The JCS Eagles are playing the game. I assure you there is not a bone in their body overconfident. They respect the entire Mt. Plesant team. They are confident because they have been predicted to lose almost every week. Most everyone is picking them to lose again this week. Confident but not overconfident. Fans compare Mt. Plesant to everyone else that we've played but JCS is preparing for this game as though they are playing the best team they've ever played. It's the Semifinals of the State for crying out loud. There are no weaklings left. Luck may carry a team through a game or two but not this far! One player can't carry a team this far either. Only a team! So I agree from the JCS perspective whole-heartedly with what MPTIGERT and TIGER #1 Fan had to say. My apologies to bigtuck4242, who is obviously a great player and not a fan. Sorry about the loss last week. Have a safe trip to Jackson. They are predicting 5,000-7,000 for the game so come early... Drive Carefully. I'm looking forward to seeing Marco and the rest of the Mt. Plesant team. By the way, this is all new to me. I'm from Middle Tennessee originally--(the Huntland area) so this is the first time I've pulled for a West Tennessee team. I've caught the fever because the Jackson Sun does a great job at covering all the West Tennessee teams. Growing up in Middle Tennessee the teams outside the Nashville area didn't get the kind of coverage teams in the west get! 4:13 Eagles!
