  1. OK. I'm not going to invade Curts privacy by naming names, but there are other schools that are interested and have been since week 3 and are of the highest magnatude. Other than what has been mentioned. And he has already been to the high profile QB camps. It was my understanding that he will attend the Nike camp this summer and is currently working on combine scores, sparq scores...whatever. Volman is corrrect about his need to work on 2nd and 3rd options. But IMHO what Curt needs to focus on most is throwing long in pressure situations. Any QB worth his mettle can throw wheel routes all night long. The big schools want to know if you can throw it 65-70 yards and put it on the money...under pressure. Throwing long to an ultrafast WR under pressure is a leap of faith. Once trumps are broken you can lead with it the rest of the way. Curt will have 2 ultrafast WR's. Plus 4 medium range weapons but that is for another subject. I think this is his ultimate test and he knows it. Really, it all depends on his recievers. He has learned to scramble and knows when to go and when to stay. He is an expert at the medium range stuff. He can pick it apart all night long. He has laid the foundation, erected the walls and now it is time to put a roof on it. If he can do that by week 3 then you will see the big boys comin' 'round.
  2. Sad but true. I mean it was handed to them on a silver platter this year.
  3. I re-read your post and in my reply I didn't actually address your concern. And yes you are correct that if Curt were at DB it would have been the greatest assimilation of talent in one place in a long time. And I'm sure some terrific numbers would have been produced. It's sad though that much of that talent went unutilized. Which in my opinion halted their march.
  4. Love, in all due respect Volman said it correctly. Bo was a good high school QB. If Curt had transferred Bo would have been back up. And so would Bart Ring...and Jamie Crawford.Curt has that ingredient that takes you on...Bo, Bart, and Jamie do not. And when Curt is gone we have another one coming in the same mold. His name is Heath Hayden.
  5. Just my opinion Teepee, but I think that if Curt were to have left South it would have been for one of the Academy schools...MBA, BA, maybe even McCallie. But yes, I think Curt could have taken DB much further than they went without any other adjustments. Were Cody and Throp superior to Curts stable? Probably, but not by much. Curt knows he has a very balanced offense to work with in '07 and he also knew the '07 Indians would be a bit scattered. As far as recruiting...he has an impressive stack of letters as we speak and many of them he had way back in the spring. And the calibre' of schools interested is a given. Curt has not peaked yet and he has some impressive WR's for '07 at SSHS. Would he be farther down the road if he were at DB? Of course! But I think from a non-haters point of view, he made the correct decision to stay the course because his banner year is being formed and he will take it to the next level. His younger brother is a rising Soph and that group is packed with talent most of whom will be utilized in '07. They icing on the cake would be for Stacy to let Curt call the plays.
  6. Hey Volman. I agree about Morgan. That is just the current concensus. I feel we have an able center in Logan Combs. Everyone disagrees with me...but they also disagree with me about Dustin Greer. I think Morgan is a natural born defensive end...playing errect that is. I don't like the defensive end playing as a down lineman. Logan Combs has played center since 5th grade...he is a rising Junior. Most disagree because he is so intelligent. Rather a nerd. I have faith in him though and he is a consistent long snapper. The center is considered a folly but I think it can make or break the line. I think the TE...if we utilize one is no questions asked T. J. Blanken. He can catch anything you throw at him and he is as tough as Morgan. Not quite as agressive as he needs to be but come August he will be ready. The line will probably be only one Senior. Of course Curt does not make coaching decisions but I feel and agree that he will and should influence who the Center and the TE will be based on his comfort level with the prospective candidates...especially the Center.
  7. Boy Mikey we sure did get a spankin'...but Curt was not the one at fault.
  8. Looks like they will move him to center...but it's a long road to August.
  9. Don't know but I heard tonight that the rumor is false about Sly & Co. I heard he has no plans to leave DB and the only change might be to eliminate basketball. And also no one quit and there was no argument.
  10. You obviously don't think he is top shelf...I think he is pretty good. I heard 5 names...I guess Sly was the only serious one. Sorry to bother your Highness.
  11. Mikey claims his wife brings him food and stuff while he is on CoachT and watching TV! Let's ask him if you, me, MoRonandGay, and Whacko can come over and watch the Super Bowl, eat popcorn, and blow Mountain Dew out our nostrils while we read funny stuff on CoachT and watch the game! C'mon Mikey...it'd be fun!!! I'll fix your keyboard while we're there.
  12. Volman...can you get Mikey a Mountain Dew please!
  13. I think whenever he wants to come back they will make it happen however he says to make it happen. All the more reason they won't hire an expensive coach in the interim. How old is he? 62 in April correct? If he is goanna comeback to the 'Toppers then I would think now is the time. I would think also however that he is not finished at Carolina. It would stand to reason that he would want to leave them a national champion. At least an SEC champion. I don't think he will leave them in their current state.
  14. That's a hot piece of info. What about Crawford? Anything there?
  15. I heard this yesterday. It has to be a bad rumor. Waco, you would know if it has substance. I heard 5 key players quit after a blowup with Clark not long after the loss in the first round. I have names but I wouldn't dare mention them. It is just flak Waco correct?
  16. No...had to work. So, is Smyrna and Ravenwood better than DB or could they have competed with them. And is Maryville all they are cracked up to be?
  17. Good post. You know...maybe DB had so many balanced alternatives that they really did not tap their resources. I mean they could have run a different offense each game without running out of alternatives. So many athletes on that team and we never got to see what their potential was.
  18. You're right! Spring and Summer I am a fixture there. Come Fall, I'm just a female dog...just ask Monica! Oh man, when I actually call him Monica he is gonna light it up...but you gotta admit, "MoRonandgrey was original. Ha! Man, my wife threw my platform shoes away...I raged! She tried to get rid of my plaid, bellbottomed, cuffed, super-cool pants but I intervened. Half my closet is my clothes from the 70's. My son is like...you actually wore that stuff! Size 16...you lost me...I'm still chewing on that one. Man, what an era!
