  1. I should have left the logistics to you. How would I have gotten a train to Blountville? We would have had to ox cart it in. No...I didn't think that one through. All I was thinking was that the train would have never left Central...especially after dragging it up I81. Anyway, I will get back to work... Oh, and doesn't JC have train tracks right downtown?
  2. No. If I'm not mistaken Boone would have given it to Central. And I really didn't want to make Central die and go to Hades. Besides, you are probably the only one besides VolmanScott that appreciated it. I guess I should reinvent it for the games of the week only. How does that sound for the management of the dark arts. At least it would get passed around fairly and maybe take it into the playoffs as well. The idea for keeping it a conference novelty was I guess not a good idea.
  3. Toss you are way off base here. First, yes I picked you to lose. And lose by a lifetime. My hat is off to you for what you accomplished. It only goes to show that on any given Friday night that anything can happen. It happens in the SEC and it happens in the Big 8. BUT, no one in their right mind would have put money on Boone to win this game. It is not a slur on Boone. It was just smart thinking. So, you made us all eat those words and lose that bet. I say hurray for Boone. Am I scared now...maybe! Why, and just because Bristol did not show up for DB does that make South the stud? Fact is, and we all know this, you can never discount anyone. And everyone has a bad night sometimes. BUT! I know Stacy Carter. My son was a Frosh in 2005. I was there for the whole party. I didn't know of any misconduct of any player on Carter's team. So I did not know to single out one player for any reason good or bad. And I was not at the game so I can't comment on anyone's behavoir. And I can tell you that just like Cap said in the preseason that Stacy would find his stars and put them on stage. Only problem is Stacy is a military man and he don't like disrespectful attitudes even if you can back it up. When he was at South we lost numerous athletes because he did not put up with static. But once you proved your worth he made you a God. And demanded you to act accordingly. You simply asked why his RB didn't get any carries. And I told you how he thinks. And now you accuse me of having an attitude that is "way off". You're lost dude. The athlete in question has a history going back to his Soph year of personal fouls and excessive celebration. Does that make him a bad kid. Of course not. But when I watched Bristol play the 'Toppers I saw attitude coming from him. And he was flagged for excessive celebration. But it proves nothing. Other than the notion that he is an assertive personality. So your saying that he lost his temper somewhere around halftime? Well that is the first I have heard about it. My answer to your question still stands. I don't need to amend it. And I am not bashing Boone or Science Hills RB. Fact is, this kid has not peaked yet. Colleges will look at him and see a ball of clay ready to be molded. He brings much to the table. But, and this is a fact, if he was not utilised in this game then there was a reason for it. I only attempted to tell you how Carter thinks. Whether or not that affected the RB is another story. So just because I didn't serve your people ice cream and cake on Thursday before the game don't get your jockstrap twisted. I called for Science Hill to smother you and I was wrong. Good for you. Maybe your boys decided to play the way they were predicted to play at the beginning of the season. Better late than never. I went to the wrong game also. I went to J. Fred simply because I didn't think you had a prayer. But even if you win the conference...go deep in the playoffs...or win state don't expect a humm job because South has been pretty good for a few years now and we had to fight for every morsel of respect we got. For you, it will be no different.
  4. You speak volume also. But your volume is empty. If they want to come to DB it's their perogative. They will choose what is best for them. I understand he only wants to play basketball. If that is true then South may not be their best interest. Again, their call. By stating. "keeping them from transferring" I was obviously alluding to a reason to stay. And that would be coaching. Haynie may not have proved his worth yet but he is making definate headway.
  5. Ainsley is a friend of my daughters. Her uncle was an Icon. Her Dad a tremendous man and relatives abound. The Tribe will do well to tap into that network. And you Batman, must be a network administrator of some degree. You have one more coming through the pipe is that correct?
  6. Toss, that question would have been better directed to a South fan. The 'Topper Nation does not yet understand the mind of Stacy Carter. So to answer your question the man is one of principle. If losing is the consequense of proving a principle...then so be it, is how he thinks. No, that is not to say he would throw a game...not at all. But, if a player needs repremanding then Carter will make him learn his leason at what ever cost is associated with the lesson. No holds barred. As well, if Carter has an athlete who is a warrior then he will allow that athlete to fulfill his destiny...irregardless of the consequense or benefit provided to the team. And more importantly, to his credit. Carter will allow fate to place it's marker on the athlete and the team will ultimately be held accountable. Does Carter play to win. Of course...all coaches play to win to varying degrees. But more important to Carter than winning is allowing his warriors to become Men. And if the cost of that is losing then that is the price to be paid. That is a pretty heavy concept to understand at the tender age of high school athletics but one which his mentality is based on. That said, even though I was not at the game, it was obvious that Boone came to play. However the original question was about Carter's play calling. And in due time devout 'Topper fans will come to their own conclusion of why Carter does what Carter does. But one thing is certain, once a man decides who it is he will be, changing horses in the middle of the stream is not an option.
  7. In 2008 I posted about a 7th grader named Trey Trammell. And now I am posting about a 9th grader named Trey Trammell. I would guess next year DB will have another great backfield. As well, CHMS has a fast RB named Evan Headrick. Will South be able to keep him from tranferring to DB? Some interesting things coming through the pipeline.
  8. Incredible actually. I do look forward to our game with them but in no way do I want to sit in that stadium again. I don't think I can listen to that obnoxious announcer for three hours.
  9. I do wish you and yours well tomorrow night. But I really don't think you will skip a beat. I hope all stay healthy.
  10. Well, the experience I felt when I was there was the "Country Club" mentality.
  11. It's simple...on paper no team should stand toe to toe with you in this conference...including DB. All the hype....i.e. the stadium, Spurrier, Carter and all his presence brought....all this combined with your skill set should have been enough to set NET on fire. But it went to their heads. Maybe it even went to Carter's head. I think so. Anyway, now you should be playing your best football. Now you should be focused. I sorry you didn't understand my verbage.
  12. How so? I felt I gave the Toppers a good amount of respect.
  13. I do not think the South/DB game bears great consequense on this game except for the fact that it bears great consequense. DB was not ready for a South team that came ready to play. South is minus 3 key players at this moment. They will play at their current level of competitiveness for the remainder of the season. The Vikings, on paper, is a better team than South. DB, on paper is probably better than both South and Bristol put together. But, as has been shown, they have weaknesses. This is an advantage for the Vikings. That is to have witnessed those weaknesses exposed by South. To date, as I have witnessed, Stubbs has not sufficiently utilised Downs...either on D or O. Just as South has not benefitted from the expertise of Garvin. Because of the lack of use of Downs the Vikings, and in particular their QB, will not be able to rely on his abilities. He did not play much last season and has little experience catching the ball this season. The forward pass takes much time (parctice) to succeed...and practice under duress I might add. Just as Stacy Carter rode Curt, and the Dr., Stubbs will ride his run, first, second, third, and pass as a last resort offense into oblivion. The most important factor for the Vikings is to control Seabolt. He is ultra quick with his ball handling ability and makes last second decisions with the best I have seen. His passing game is fine. Not great...but fine. The kicking game will be crutial and the Vikings have one. This will be a coaching game and if Stubbs is Stubborn then the Vikings will fall. If he shows his once in a blue moon rocket science ability then the Vikings have a chance. The Vikings QB will not fare as well as Hayden with the Indian's blitz. And therefore will see it more and more. This will either be Bristols death knell or their trump card. Had Hayden had more time he would have destroyed DB's secondary. Clark/Watson knew this going in. Stubbs will not throw the deep ball. Even though South proved it could be done. Stubbs could not have asked for a better scouting report than South has given them. And DB could not have asked for a better management consultation than what they got from South. DB will play with afterburners glowing red from the first kickoff. The Vikings better strap it on for this is their judgement day. The team with the most toys wins.
  14. Well I call it a Slang Blade...sum calls it a Kaiser Blade I call it a Slang Blade ummmm...hmmmmmm. I reckon I let 'em borry it...I reckon he don't know how to use it...ummmm...hmmmmm. I allow him to have it back by October 22nd. If he don't brang it back, why I rekon I'll have ta kill 'em. Well, I don't rekon it matters none...ummmm hmmmmm....'cause cum that Fridee nite I'm gonna kill 'em anyways. I don't like killin' much...ummmmm hmmmmm. I reckon I like franch fried pertaters purty good...ummmmm hmmmmm.
  15. I saw Bristol beat Science Hill. On paper it shouldn't have happened. But the Vikings came to win. Akin to how South played DB. But, the Vikings did not bring the same team against Greeneville. Boone should have been the favorite for this season in 5A. Everything was in their court. But losing to South was degrading and I don't feel they have recovered from it. On paper, the 'Blazers don't have a prayer against the Island. On paper DB doesn't have a prayer either but the 'Toppers are (were) caught up in all the Spurrier, Carter, we're great now so watch it on the 'Tron hype. The loss to Edgemont High did them a service. They will not lose to Boone and will begin to roll as all thought they would earlier. They needed to be brought down to Earth and you can thank Bristol for that. We haven't seen the last of the Big 8 upsets but this game is not one.
  16. More like..."Hey man, no problem." Or "Don't worry about it." It's a lot like English in it's formalities. In that there are formal ways to say things and informal ways. Instead of maybe Latin or the derifitives of Spanish or Italian which are vague and rely heavily on context.
  17. I have my translator...and no, I don't speak the language. What a job that could bring!
  18. Cha ryuht......Kyung nae......Choon bi......SEJAK!!!
  19. Where is Virginia High? Isn't that in like...Kentucky?
  20. What's up Otis? Did you play ball in high school? College?
  21. Well, good luck DB and Tennessee High. Because, and I'm sorry FB it's just the fact, Science Hill will destroy Boone. So the game of the week is once again going to be exciting.
  22. Did you set your alarm for school in the morning. Don't miss the bus. I love you.
  23. You know what? Sometimes you just need to shut up and think about what you are saying. I am not talking about good or bad officiating. Nor about winning or losing. I'm talking about what your linemen did. Period. It was wrong yet was advocated by your head coach. Otherwise he would have put a stop to it. I don't care that we lost the game. I don't care that you are a better team. I don't care to admit both of those things. All I care about is that we competed. And we did. Was it bad officiating? Yes. Why. Because no delay of game penalties were called and we all know there should have been a few. That makes us look bad. That's unacceptable in my book. Because it gives you a reason to cry. We didn't hire the refs. So, it's a consequense. One that you have endured in many games. I will give you that. There were calls that were not made that would have put us in the weeds. I'm ashamed for that. But I can't change it. But your linemen played dirty football and your coach advocated it. And it went on the whole game. That is my whole point. We lost. With the delay of game penalties we would have lost sooner. But maybe...just maybe...because your coach allowed the linemen fiasco to continue that the refs collectively said, "OK coach, if that is how you want to play then we will show you how it works". Oh, but it couldn't be like that could that could it. You and your high and mighty people. I have never been at the other games where you were robbed by the refs, but there is no hiding from the fact that your coach was wrong for allowing that kind of thing to continue. And it started at the very beginning of the game. That's OK. We will see how your linemen play the rest of the season and what the refs do about it. This is why you can't win a championship. Because you bring the negative BS on yourself. When we played Maryville, with likely the most ruthless coach in the state, we never saw such crap. I've never seen it...ever....except at the DII and NAIA college level. You can't say anything to make it right. Because you are wrong. You are wrong because you didn't watch the game. You just assumed that DB is better and more superior than anyone else. Your coach caused this. He likes drama. It's par for him.
