AC won 8-0. York did not pitch their number one pitcher due to a hamstring problem, but AC played as well as they have all season.

In the semifinals North Laurel from London,KY defeated Conner, KY 7-1. Dupont Manuel from Louisville, KY beat Anderson Co. 3-0. In the finals North Laurel got by DuPont 3-0. The game ended at 4:14 a.m. Sunday morning.

Madison Southern from the Richmond/Berea, Ky area is hosting a tournament April 7 and 8. There is four game guarantee. A team just dropped out and they are willing to waive the entry fee if they can find a team. Email brian.foley@madison.kyschools.us if you can help them out. Also, his work number is 859-624-4582.

O.S. plays Olentangy Liberty, Ohio at 6:15 On Thursday and Oak Ridge at 8:00. On Friday they play Tellico Plains at 8:00.

A team has dropped out of the 9th annual Anderson Co. tournament. We need a team that can play one pool game on Thursday, March 30th or Saturday morning April 1st and two pool games on Friday, March 31th. Single elimination play begins at noon on Saturday. Currently the teams in the tourney are Anderson Co., Clinton, Oak Ridge, Knoxville Catholic, Loudon, Oliver Springs, Seymour, Lenoir City, Cumberland Gap, Sweetwater, Tellico Plains, North Laurel, KY, Conner, KY, Manuel,KY and Olentangy Liberty, Ohio. It was one of those games that everything went right for AC and nothing went right for LC. First of all it was damp in the top of the first and the LC pitcher had trouble throwing strikes(AC scored 7 runs while getting only one hit). AC turned 2 doubleplays, with one of them being in the bottom of the first with one out and the bases loaded. AC's Kaleasha Welch scorched three balls for a single, double and a triple that accounted for 7 rbi's. It should be an interesting district tourney. By the way, the game was @ LC, not AC.

Anderson County's fall league will begin on Saturday Sept. 4 or 11. All games will be on Saturdays at Anderson Co. HS. With enough teams, games will also be played at Clinton. The league will conclude with a single elimination tournament in mid to late October. Entry fee will be approximately $30 per game played. Contact Coach Houck at 865-457-8762 or email ghouck@acs.ac. Also, Anderson Co. would like to schedule practice games on July 15,19,26 and 29.

Anderson Co., Oliver Springs, Gibbs and Campbell Co. are in the pool at Anderson Co. Oak Ridge, Catholic, Alcoa and Loudon are in the pool at Oak Ridge. Clinton, Union Co., Kingston, Karns, Maryville, and Cocke Co. play on the two fields at Clinton. Thursday's schedule has AC-OS and Gibbs-Campbell Co. at AC. At OR, it is OR-Catholic and Alcoa-Loudon. At Clinton there are games on only one field Thursday. They are Clinton-Union Co. and Kingston-Karns. The AC-OS game begins at 4:30. Games on the other two fields begin at 5:00.
