KevB worked with Dr Coffey and T Acuff on the new HS it is going to be awesome only problem is the Washburn is closing their HS and that has many up in arms (including many of my family members lol) I guess I was one of the 1st people that seen what it was going to look like. We need to talk more heck we are probably related lol I think there are alot of players in 3A that deserve recognition that dont get it. 2-AA day were great and yes 1-3A does have a serious problem when it comes to competiton but I do think that was 1 of the reasons that Carter has done so well in our Region they have played good teams for years (may have not played them well but still played) and it showed in the way way they played on Friday nights this season. As for how well Helton played against Fulton and Carter. He had 100yds total offense against both. Seymour had the perfect game play against him. One thing I dont understand is how I can be blasted for being proud of a kid who in my opinion should have been given more credit. Its an opinion that I have but most of the posts with the exception of my 1-3A friends, have been really criticial and well just trying to figure out why, but how many of the ones that have been critical of Helton seen him play? I have enjoyed this one keep it going and will have to say 1-3A fan are the most passionate, we stick to our guns... KevB & hornet have a great weekend.... Hornet your right on brother... hit it perfect. I just to see the opinion of people. There are alot of great players and only 1 gets Mr Football, just as there are alot of great teams and only 1 gets the Championship. I have seen alot of film on Smith and I am not doubting his ability at all but if you look back on an old post it was predicted he would get it. and many of you agree the boards (not just this one) have been full of his exploits. But I still think there is a equal side on the strength of schedule issue. If Team A beats Team B 70-0 and they are the same region, but Team C beats Team D and there are 2 different regions or classifications is that not the same? or at least similar? Every team plays patsys plain and simple and I am not doubting the ability of Station Camp, Catholic or Fulton but the region they play in isnt filled with "super teams". I know Im fighting a losing battle I just think that players in rural areas get less props. KevB Lane Wolfenbarger was an outstanding OLB did he get his props? Where was Dodgens from GP or the kids from smaller schools. KevB the old 2-AA days are gone but man werent they fun... Guys enjoyed the sparring gotta go Christmas Shopping for my kids...

OK OK I was just making a case and my opinion. I suppose Louisville and Auburn see something others don't. I just wish kids in rural areas (the Rutledge's Claiborne ect) have just as good talent. Helton hadd 100 or near 100 yd games against all but 1 opponent (Seymour) and Gary Householder is an excellent coach who knew what to do. Im not complaining but have yet to find anyone that can tell me the critieria that involves the Mr FB award. I can see where schedule has alot to do with it but when teams blow out their opponents 40, 50 to 0 what is the difference?

Does the calibur of competition make a player or the quality of player? I suppose many of you would have voted for Woodson over Manning. I just wanted to make people think most kids work just as hard and deserve their due just because they dont live in a media market. Smith is a good back but I think he is even a better DB. But this is the reason I started this thread is to allow people to give their opinion. '08 is 2 years away

D Rogan from Knox Fulton Torey from Station amp and H Smith from Knox Catholic Now what if a RB has 1700+yds; 200yds rcv 30+ TDS 80+ Tackles 4 Ints and 4 sack and that doesnt includeKO return yds. Would you think this player has a shot...plus he has cleared the NCAA Clearinghouse. The difference in the BCS and TSSAA is that the BCS warns you your stepping in it. THe player who should be there instead of H Smith (my opinion) is Ryan Helton from Claiborne. Thats my story and Im sticking to it. Be strong my friends 2 years of high taxes is upon us but ther is hope in '08

Ryan Helton of Claiborne 402yds and 6 TDs this week vs. Pigeon Forge 1600+ Yds on 100 or so carries and 30+ TDs 50+ Tackles 5 Sacks and 3 INTs 100+ Receiving yds But he is from small school in East Tennessee and probably wont get the credit or votes. Claiborne is outside of the 9 counties blurred vision that encompasses Knoxville. Plus Mr Smith and Mr Rogan get all the hype so they will go to UofT
