  1. I very much agree. Before the Gibbs game, the Halls defense was pretty good against the run (Jamie Wilson was stuffed), but gave up way too much on the bubble passes/screens. The Gibbs game saw a much improved defense against the pass. West appears to have a good running game and has one of the best receivers we'll see. So, like you, I think if Halls keeps this one close late we'll pull out the win. But to be realistic, it will be tough. Our talented young players are really going to have to step it up for this one.
  2. Not familiar with Acres. I was at the Halls vs Gibbs game last Friday, so I missed the Clinton game with CC. I can't help but think that with all the talent I've seen in the Clinton Hawks Middle School program the last 2 or 3 years that the Dragons are on a major upswing. I heard last year that the Clinton coach knew he had some Freshmen and SO's who were better than some on varsity but he held them out so they wouldn't get hurt. That made me think that this year would be a lot better.
  3. I gotta go with Clinton too. They are much improved this year. Zack Hood is a good QB and Hester is a pretty good RB. I'm not that knowledgeable about Clinton's line. Who are the big timers in the trenches for the Dragons? I'm a Halls boy, but I'm glad Clinton is getting better. I know a bunch of those kids there.
  4. Your're right about the Freshman score. Central doesn't have a JV team. Boys, in a year or two when our current SO and Freshman classes get to varsity, look out.
  5. You and geico are right. I forgot about those teams as mine is in 4A. I've heard Kingston is very good this year.
  6. Glad you're out there. I don't think any of us HHS fans should be the least bit overconfident, but it sure will be nice if we can get this ship on the right course with a win.
  7. Zeke Rogers and Chad Coleman, both SO's, can play. Zeke has good speed and Coleman is a beast. My 2 cents is that it's the young QB, who's now hurt, that is keeping them off track a little. I still think they'll make the playoffs though because Livingston is way down this year, which means AC will squeak in 4th place. Who will be the starting QB against Webb? Anybody know?
  8. I would lay your money on the line and bet Coach J. has a few surprises in for the Gibbites. Where are they anyhow? Don't they have any fans who want to mix itup?
  9. I'm guessing he can't. There were so many, including some crucial offensive starters, that it would really hurt the team.
