  1. Not trying to stir the pot, just notice that Sheila has been a member of Coach T since 2004, Hood wasn't playing varsity in 2004. Just pointing out the facts. Dragonfanfirst, please look in the mirror and see if your actions are improving the football team. Here in lies the problem with some people. They are always trying to get one up on everybody. Didn't your momma tell you if you didn't have something nice to say, then keep your mouth shut. I'm ashamed that I graduated from Clinton. You people make us look like stupid rednecks.
  2. First of all, let me apologize for my part in this message board. I have removed all of my previous posts and this will be my last. Like many of you, I haven't been to greatest example for these kids by some of the trash that I've spoken on this message board. I, like so many others, love to create controversy here. It’s kind of the same concept that makes Jerry Springer fun to watch. Is it right? Absolutely not. I may not agree with the actions of some coaches but it’s their decisions to make, not mine. So I ask myself, what is gained? The obvious answer is no one gains anything. I have to ask myself, who suffers the most in all of this? The answer to me is simple, the kids. I finally realized this and I won’t be a part of it anymore. Best of luck to the students and I encourage all parents to follow suit. High School is supposed to be fun. In life, not all things are as rosy as we all would like but at work or at the home, you must take personal accountability for your actions. If at the end of the day, you can look yourself in the mirror and be proud, no one can take that away. Best of luck to the Dragons, coaches and students.
  3. Either Anderson County is down this year or on this thread there isn't anything good to talk about. Dragons roll in week one.
  4. Thank you Catback. Long time, no see. It's about that time of year again. Who do the mighty Wildcats start off with this year?
  5. OakRidgeCat, Catback...have you missed me. It seems like the intensity and almost cockiness is back at Oak Ridge. Unfortunately, our game has been moved to the middle of the season and yes, that worries me. You should be hitting your stride just about then.
  6. I'm not saying that the kid from Clinton is the best in the state, its hard to make that statement for anyone. That being said, he seems to have leadership, a good understanding of a new offense, and does have a rocket for an arm. Did I mention that he's pretty tough. I think he was sacked around 60 times last year. While others, like Jake Ryan and Burnette from Maryville have div. I talent to throw the ball too, Clinton will need some consistency at the skill positions and better production from the offensive line for him to really showcase his potential. He has the tools to be really special but in todays athletic arena, talent only gets you so far. The team needs to rally together and get some wins....
  7. Ouch, we've been schedules as the homecoming game. Who was the sick, sadistic fellow that agreed to that. I will say, last year was a fun year as a Dragon fan. We didn't have a lot of wins to show for it but we did compete. Any Wildcat fan must admit, we competed last year. We didn't get the win, but was were at least in the ball game. Good luck to you all this year, except on Sept. 28. GO DRAGOONS!!!!!!
  8. chsdragons has been ELIMINATED! There is justice in this world.
  9. Maryville is in the top 25 in the nation. What 5A team from TN can say that???
  10. Dragon fans, I reported chsdragon to Coach-T, explained the story of the Green McAdoo Cultural center and requested that chsdragon be removed from the website. No how or no one should be excused for this type of ignorance.
  11. I'll give you my perspective. Powell was a lot bigger than us. I mean a lot. I don't know what you all are doing in the weight room but that was the biggest team we've faced all year. Cruze is as advertised. He basically toyed with our defense. Good luck in the playoffs!!!!
  12. The GREAT DRAGOON says, "Panthers don't like water but will Dragons fire go out in the rain?". Who knows? Wet field means poor footing, poor tackling, poor running, poor passing and lots of turnovers. Crappy for grounds crew but should be fun as heck to play and watch, that is if you all have a little "kid" inside of you that still likes to play in the mud. ROLL DRAGONS, I've got my duck boots ready, my rain coat on and I'M READY FOR SOME YUCKBALL!
  13. What I like is that most people posting are true Dragon fans, that only want the best for our kids and program. Opinions will differ but lets analyze this team. Defensively, we are undersized and not real fast. The fact is this defensive unit has allowed 50% fewer points than last years team. 50% is huge. These kids play with a lot of heart. They believe in each other and what the coaches are telling them. They have pride again for the program and the township. As for the Offensive, since everyone is being a football critic, here is my take. As I stated before, the offensive coord. is new and young. The Quarterback is a first year starter and this offensive was new to him as well. We have had about 9 different receiver combinations this year and if you have watched the games like I have, you understand that our receiving corp isn't fast either. As for the offensive line, its got some talent but it isn't being developed very good (that's my opinion only). They had an offensive line coach before the season and he didn't honor his commitment to our team. Thus it left us without one. We've had to make do. What does all this mean you ask? Oak Ridge, we scored early because they really didn't know what to expect. As they made half time adjustments, we couldn't get a receiver clear do to lack of speed. Maryville, well, their Maryville. Campbell county, stars aligned that night, believe it or not, we were the bigger and faster team, hence the 42 points. South Doyle, believe it or not, they were bigger and faster once again. Halls and West, were all over the quarterback. Central, offensive line played a lot better and we had some decent drives but stalled towards the end zone. I personally thought, the Central game was our best offensive game plan of the year. No we didn't score but we had some sustained drives in this game. To summerize all this, for the talent pull, new players and a new system, we are getting better. I also think that this style of offensive, if given a chance to stick around for a while, will bring some kids out for football, that might not have wanted to play otherwise. As for speed, well, I'm checking with the City Municipality, to see if we can put something in the water. To the team: I have absolutely loved watching you all play this year. W/L aside, you have played spirited football this year and I really look forward to our future and to see what can be built upon the foundation that you've laid down. To our coaching staff: enjoy your success' but keep up the energy level and believe in each other. You are making a difference in these kids and for our program. I'm looking forward to the playoffs next season. ROLL DRAGONS and beat the panthers......
  14. Look, Clinton isn't a bad football team. This past week at Central, one senior on the offensive side of the ball. They are young and really don't have any speed to think of at all. That being said, they still have coaching and players to throw for over 1000 yards this year. We don't have a Dayton, Maples, or for that matter, Darrell Miller. What we do have is a bunch of kids, coaches and community that are working hard at rebuilding a program. From an outsider, it is hard to understand. You only see W/L. We are looking for something like "Pride". Three years ago, that was gone. Clinton's football program was desimated. Not rebuilding or just young, it was desimated. Nobody wanted to play football in Clinton. Like it or not, there is a buzz in Clinton and that's what will turn the program around. That buzz is happening because of Andy's leadership and the energy from the new coaches. We still have some key positions to fill in the off season. Once we have those coaching positions filled and we get the right mix of players, Clinton will once again be competative. Is there a really a need to make a prediction for this game. Regardless if Clinton wins, everyone will say Powell had nothing to play for because they already have a playoff spot.
  15. Unfortunetly, I haven't seen Central play this year. What I can tell you is that Clinton has struggled against teams with a lot of speed. While Clinton is much improved, I don't think Clinton has made the necessary adjustments to counter teams with good speed. To many times, I have seen a slot receiver left unguarded or an opportunity to check off to a hot receiver and we don't seem to have that flexibility built into the offense. Its almost if that the receiver getting the ball is predetermined prior to the snap, regardless of the defensive set. Maybe, and I'll give the benefit of doubt to the coaching staff, the spread offensive is still being learned by the players and adding check offs would be confusing. Either way, this has caused us problems this year. While I would love to see Clinton pull off an upset, I suspect Clinton will play them tight early on and then when Central makes the necessary adjustments, its game over. What I would like to see is the fans supporting the Dragons without blame or ridicule. Remember these are just kids and the deserve our support. These kids and team are a far cry from the past couple of years. The foundation is being laid for a brighter future. Dragoons, lets shock the world!!!!!
