  1. I'm sure Brentwood Academy, or Smyrna...or Riverdale would love the chance.
  2. Oh, now that really hurts tad! Hey, let's not get all worked up and have a flashback to Vietnam here. It's almost Christmas, Santa's watching you know?
  3. You concede above that the fumble was a "momentum swing" and that's enough for me. I happen to think it was THE play of the game, and I'm not without good cause to think that. You know what happens if Lipscomb doesn't fumble there. As far as calling my opinion "false statements", I think that's just being a nay-sayer when I made a good point. Thanks for agreeing with me.
  4. What I said was accurate, not excuses. If you did not think that fumble was the game-changer, I'm not sure what game you watched. That's just a fact. I'm not a Lipscomb fan. You just don't like my view of the game, and that's fine.
  5. I don't think Lipscomb was "overmatched". They played right with Fulton. The self-inflicted fumble before the half KILLED Lipscomb, and it was the deciding play in the game in my view. You take that one play out and the game changes. Give credit to Fulton, they made Lipscomb pay big-time, and that's what great teams do. Also, the phantom "block in the back" on that huge pass play to Elrod that was called back was a killer too. Fulton was extremely talented, they are a great team with several D-1 prospects, Rogan is a machine, but I didn't see Lipscomb overmatched. They played a tough game against an outstanding Fulton team.
  6. Some people are hearing voices in their heads on here, because the VAST majority of the Goodpasture fans have been respectful, and the VAST majority of the jaw-jabbering you read on here has been from Alcoa's side since DAY ONE. I mean, why do you care what the people in your head, err, Goodpasture says? You won, be happy, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.
  7. I think people would rather watch it on TV unless their team is playing when it's that cold. I'm sure the TV part makes them a little pocket change. I also liked it better when it was in Nashville personally.
  8. Win with class and don't be a turd. Congrats to Alcoa. That team could play with anybody in any classification as far as I'm concerned. I think the thing that most surprised me was the Tornado line play. They were much smaller but got a really good push off the ball on offense and pretty much shut Goodpasture's run down when it mattered. I thought Goodpasture could hang with this team, but I was dead wrong. Great season Alcoa and Goodpasture.
  9. What is the deal with Fulmer not being able to get these in-state prospects to come to UT?
  10. How many fans do you think this game will draw tonight? It would be great to see 10,000+ in the stands.

    Cinderella?

No, he wanted "Cinderella", not Godzilla.
  12. Let me have my lawyer look at it and I'll get back with you.

    Cinderella?

If I had to pick one it would be Ravenwood. The person who lit the fire under that team's seat midway through the year needs a raise. They are a team peaking at the perfect time.
  14. Yeah, everyone on here I'm reading has really UNDERESTIMATED Ohio State, err, Alcoa. I'm sure Alcoa's starters were all genetically engineered in a secret lab at Oak Ridge to play football and all, but a lot of people might think the Goodpasture boys have a team that will play tomorrow too.
  15. Well, I didn't say Lipscomb was THE MOST physical, although they may very well be. I simply said that I can't say those other teams Fulton has played will be any MORE physical than Lipscomb. To use the word "most" would indicate a solid fact. This was just a meager Middle Tennessee opinion of mine, not fact. For example, I could say, "Some in East Tennessee seem not to realize that MOST of the state of Tennessee extends west of the Cumberland Plateau."
  16. I know Fulton has a very good defense, and Lipscomb knows they will have to play a very solid game up front on the line to win. I know Fulton has played some teams with great talent, but I can't say Fulton has played a team more physical than David Lipscomb. I think it will be an interesting matchup.
  17. Was it Bo Jackson or Hershel Walker, or both, that never lifted weights?
  18. I think one thing that demoralizes a team more than anything is the opposing team being able to control the ball and clock on offense. Nothing that I've seen drags a team down more than having their offense kept off the field. Having to watch the other offense getting little 4 yard plays on the their defense time and again, converting 3rd down and shorts time and again, and having long sustained scoring drives that take 10+ plays, just saps the life out of a team. It hurts the other offense because they sit, get frustrated, get anxious, etc. So, I think Lipscomb winning this football game against an explosive offensive back like Rogan will rest on their ability to control the clock IN THE FIRST HALF and keep the ball away from him as much as possible. Getting good yards on first down will help that. If Fulton's offense gets many chances, Rogan will break a long one eventually because he's so talented, so DL must limit those chances as much as possible early and do it with the offense.
  19. Tennessee doesn't produce the depth of football talent as some other southern states where family shoot each other over games(that's no joke) and where football is more important than going to church, but there are always the handful that are big-time prospects nationally around here. Pat Turner, Chris Donald, Golden Tate, Smith, Fisher, etc. These guys are big-time. The glaring problem I see is that there is no reason UT should be letting ANY of those handful get out of the state, not one. When you have 5 big-time players to recruit in the entire state how can you let them go to Notre Dame, USC, or Alabama??? If you can't win the 4/5-star recruiting battle in your own state it's a very bad sign. One other thing, although UT has had some bad player problems, as does every major football school from time to time, nobody can compare them to Miami's troubles.
  20. The weather forcast is calling for some nasty stuff moving into this area on Friday. It's going to be cold and wet with a chance for snow/sleet. How does the bad weather affect this game? I know both teams have big-time running games, and a wet surface usually helps the offenses.
  21. I really don't believe all this, it sounds like someone's trying to CREATE something out of nothing.
  22. I don't know about everyone else, but the word that jumps out at me is "classy". Lipscomb just goes out and takes care of their business on the football field, and even opposing fans admire that in a program at the end of the day, even if you've spent 4 quarters pulling for your team to knock them off.
  23. The Tennessean lists Goodpasture with 377, so about as scary as that.
  24. I'm sorry, but there is a board requirement that no team outside of East Tennessee may be given a chance within 5 touchdowns when playing against an East Tennessee team, and, additionally, no individual player may be praised more highly than any player from East Tennessee. Anyone found doing so will be mocked and insulted repeatedly until they recant.
