  1. Jefferson County's usually comes out the thursday before the first football game as well. DZbettin may be able to tell you for sure.
  2. Ok the central scrimmage is over, good luck to the bobcats the rest of the season
  3. Actually, I would say there are only 10 or so more than last year. I counted about 55 varsity players, counting those not in pads. Last year I think JC started with 40-45. I would say the freshman numbers were about the same, around 30 or so
  4. I think the ones for the first drive are pretty accurate, I know every run went for positive yards - of course dz didnt list the second and third possessions so that may have been what you are thing of. I do know i overheard one of the central defensive coaches saying "thats the first thing weve done right all night" and that was late in the scrimmage. either way, like you said, the score and stuff doesnt matter, its all about improving and attitude. hopefully the Patriots wont go backward at the farragut scrimmage.
  5. Good comments jc. I know there is size on the d-line but i question if all of it is in shape
  6. Prayers from Jefferson County to the Central player who was injured in tonight's scrimmage. I'm sure the Central folks can shed some light as to who he was. Surprised no one from either team has mentioned this yet.
  7. If the scrimmage goes like friday's, the wide receivers will be unengaged
  8. you are right patriot, considering there has only been one practice day since the last scrimmage, and i bet a lot of yesterday was spent chewing out and running.
  9. Why not start a C.C. thread and discuss C.C. football?
  10. Long at times hasn't looked comfortable in the pocket, but of course he never has been a starter and there has rarely been a pocket to work with. The O-Line and QB positions have the most responsibilities in the veer, so they have to get better.
  11. Steele plays receiver? he doesnt even line up in the backfield
  12. I'm not sure if it was bad line play because of lack of talent or inexperience with the offense, but the offense just couldn't get anything going. West was in the backfield almost every play and Long had no where to go, and when they did get to run a play properly there were fumbles. The offense seemed to go a little better when mcfall was at qb, and darby had a nice run. I remember darby and ben moore played corners dont remember the safetys. West has a experience quarterback that was making great plays, and their receivers were just to quick for our secondary. The linebackers were a bright spot, yeary and #40 will be the strength of the d probably
  13. not pretty defense had its moments, except for the secondary, offense...well
  14. no need to bump, if no one has anything useful to add
  15. Hey DZ good feature in the paper today are you gonna do 1 for every position
  16. Does this Kingsport Times News not cover local sports, or do they just not post it online. I was looking to see how D-B was coming along, but cant seem to find anything on their site.
  17. According to today's newspaper, Anderson has hired three coaches with one more position left. Todd Mounts, running backs, Darrell Miller freshman and Dline assistant and Chip Watkins oline and dline
  18. Central 4, West 1 Candace Irwin 15 Ks Morristown West, toooo many errors
  19. Was there ever a followup story on this in the greeneville sun, I never saw anything past the first one?
