  1. One of the strongest? I would have to lean more toward one of the weakest. Jefferson County will be about like they were last year, around .500, West will be about the same. Both are well coached, but don't appear to have the talent to keep up with the better teams from Knoxville and the middle part of the state. Cocke County, Cherokee and East? Well we know what to historically expect from them and I expect the same - not much. I guess that leaves greeneville to win it, and with Nicole that's about all it will take. Though you are right, the new coach got by with Burkey's talent and Burkey's system.
  2. Coach Ellis and Sanders have did a good job of gettin the kids out at WP. Last year they had 20 something, this year 45. One of their stud backs Jonathan Allison tore his acl in football this season though and is giving it up to concentrate on bball from what I hear.
  3. An SEC school? are you kidding me? lol Ive seen recent IMAC players 10 times the caliber of Holt (ie Megan Lyons, Ashley Kyle, Ashley Huff, Summer Phipps) go to a lot smaller schools in D 1-AA, D2 and D3. Holt won't go SEC.
  4. The thing about the weight program in the 80s Cane is that the Collins' boys and all the other standouts lifted weights without being told, because they would do whatever it took to be winners. That's whats missing in today's society. There are a few guys that have a good work ethic, but most don't. As far as the two high schools, it might not be cheaper to build two but it would be more efficient from a teaching and student standpoint. I would like to see White Pine and Maury as a HS and Jeff and RS as another. I think that would be the best thing for JC athletics because it would keep natural rivalries between the two schools and that could only help from a competition standpoint.
  5. Yeah I talked to school board member Jim Vines the other night and the two high school plans is back in the mix. here is a link to the story on the JMS game. Its got a kingsport slant to it though. From what I hear, Jeff dominated the first half but turned the ball over three times. http://www.tricitiessports.com/default.asp...rts&he=.com And as for the problem at the high school, its gonna take more than euverard making a few changes. The school and community as a hole will have to change before the athletic department is back on track. But I wouldnt even waste my time discussing this. The over/under is 48 hours as to when this thread will get locked. It happens with every other JCHS thread.
  6. JC4life, when jeff co goes to two high schools, how will you decide which to back? lol
  7. Jeff Co doesn't play much of a post game either, yet they only managed to score 22 points in four quarters from the perimeter and foul line.
  8. Oh I'm not saying stepp is all world. I've said all along he isn't physical enough. I was hoping football would toughin him up but I guess not if you are right. Sorry to hear about you getting cut though baller, I've seen Sinard do a lot of questionable cuts and keeps there over the years so doesn't surprise me at all.
  9. For a 5A highschool with 2600 kids to score 22 points against a mid-level conference team, that tells you something.
  10. Snowman, I know that Jefferson County has three standout players in the freshman class this season, Jacob Lanning, Shane Gann and Austin Collins, as well as some good role players. You add that with some players off last year's team like Tyler Stepp, Zach Long, Jesse Brown etc and there is no way in heck that a decent coach couldn't double their eight-win total from the past two seasons. Take it for what its worth.
  11. You people are funny. I went to an east baseball game last year and all the fans were beetchin at brian trent for being west biased. I come on here and all the west fans are claiming east biased. Someone is ignorant and it appears to be both sides.
  12. BBall, I see you all open with Bradley Central first game of the season. How ironic is that lol.
  13. So the guy that was on here bad mouthing East fans, in reality has no dog in the fight. Imagine that.
  14. Wiggins is all they need to run through their district, he is a pleasure to watch. I hear he is getting looks from schools such as UCONN and Louisville.
  15. BBall55, havent there been problems with transfers in the past, oglesby and perkins to name a couple? Who have you heard that would be a replacement should sinard leave/get replaced? Will this happen this year or after the season is over? I think Delozier at Maury or France at Rush Strong could do good things with the freshman talent at Jeffersn County.
  16. Why does Jefferson County boys basketball s-ck? One of the largest high schools in east tennessee and you are telling me a decent team can't be fielded? Everyone on here complains about JC football, but if i remember correctly, the BBall team and Fball team have won about the same # of games the past two seasons. Pretty sad. Could this be an institutional problem? Some one please share.
  17. Pats, we all know who you are and you are horrible. I am an east fan and remember your days at jefferson county and let me say, you have no room to talk down on anybody. Hatcher is a good coach and we will be just fine. Just because you are an ex Jeff Co player turned West jock strap holder doesnt mean anything. And obviously you know nothing about hs football or jefferson countys schedule or you would know that cumberland county hasnt scored a point all season.
