  1. YES!!! We plan on making Mactown in the playoffs official this Friday night. No need to wait for the Jo Byrns game. NCS is coming to our town and we will be ready. GO BIG RED!!!!
  2. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> This is really confusing. We just need to win on Friday night. GO WARRIORS!!!!
  3. You are so smart. Yep, I am Larry Don's biggest fan.
  4. No smack talking here. McEwen wins this one. Our guys are playing as a team more than I can ever remember in the past. Despite our injuries, we will be ready to play on Friday night when we welcome you to the reservation. We will see you under the lights. GO BIG RED!!
  5. I am so proud to be a Warrior! What a game.....was it the best we have played? Not by any means. Did we make mistakes? Absolutely. Did we give up when we were down by 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. Heck no!!!! We played with all the heart and determination we could find within ourselves. That is what being a McEwen Warrior is all about. I have to be honest, when Jordan was hurt before half-time and Eagleville was running the ball like they were, I did not hold out a lot of hope for a comeback. Then when they scored on us again, I had all but given up on a win. But then you have the guys playing awesome on defense and then our (new) QB Blake Leegan stepping up to the plate (scored the winning TD) to win the game. It is all about TEAMWORK! My hats off to our guys who step out on that field every Friday night. We do not have one single guy who thinks he is the star of the show or that it is all about him as a player. And that is what it is all about. Even if the score on the board had not been in our favor last night, we would have walked off that field WINNERS!!! I know it may sound corny to some, but it is so very true. I am so proud of every one of you who put on the mighty RED & WHITE every Friday night. Blake, it is time to lead this team. I know you can do it. Jordan, you are an awesome player and we know we will be hearing big things from you down the road. This is not over yet Warriors. They said we could not do this. Let's go for another win this next Friday night. GO BIG RED!!!!
  6. I don't think you have all of your info right, but either way, I am sure Coach Nolen would want you to watch what you say as well. Go get em Friday night!!!!! GO BIG RED!!!
  7. We told you all not to underestimate us. We are going to do our best to take care of business one game at a time from here on out. GO WARRIORS!!
  8. If our guys play as a team the way they did last night, I say we take this one back home as a win. They really showed a lot of growth and maturity as a team last night. I have never been more proud of our guys as I was last night. What a game!!!! GO WARRIORS!!!!!
  9. You said it. These folks did not see what we saw last night in MacTown did they? I'm not jumping the gun and overlooking Eagleville this Friday night, but we have beaten Forrest, and that leaves one more to go in this scenerio. So, whoever is doing these possible playoff finishes may want to take another look. Our guys are just getting started. GO BIG RED!!!!
  10. WHAT A GAME! WHAT AN AWESOME AWESOME GAME!!! I have never seen a scoreless game at the end of 4 quarters go into one overtime, let alone double overtime. I have never been more proud of our group of guys as I am tonight. Even if we had not been the one to come out on top in the end, I would still feel the same. It was such a physical game. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!! When my son came off the field, all I could say is, " I am speechless." If you missed this game tonight, YOU MISSED IT!!!! I have to give Forrest a big pat on the back, because those guys held nothing back tonight. Every guy that went out (on both teams) on that field PLAYED BALL UNTIL THEY HAD NOTHING LEFT. I am still so pumped I don't know if I can even go to sleep. WHAT A GAME!!!!!! I AM SO PROUD TO BE A MCEWEN WARRIOR!
  11. Yes, he is still here. However, he is not the only one you need to worry about when you come to see us Friday night. Our guys truly do play as a team and we have several who have been kicking it up a notch or two these last few games. I am not one to do a lot of bragging and boasting, but just be on your toes because we certainly will be. Just ask Cascade. They were almost a little too over confident a few weeks ago. See you under the lights. Warrior Pride Forever!! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  12. I don't reply to a lot of posts, but could not pass this one up. This team is not last year's team. I totally agree that we did not have a good game against Cascade last year, but there were different reasons for that. One of those being that one of our key players went down on the opening kick off. It affected the whole team mentally and physically from that point on. There were also other variables at play that night. I have read several posts about how these guys have been together since the 7th grade. That is something to truly be proud of. However, a lot of our guys have been together just as long. Some have even played together since they were 10 years old. Just to let all who travel to our "reservation"know, you are looking at a 2 hour drive. Take I-40 west to Memphis and get off at exit 182(Fairview/Dickson). You will turn left on to Hwy 96. Follow it all the way to Hwy 70 (You run right into it.) Turn left again on to Hwy 70 and follow 70 west all the way to McEwen. When you get to McEwen, turn down Main St (right turn) by the City Hall, over the RR tracks and you will see the lights. I loved the article in the Shelbyville paper. Our guys are true country boys at heart. They work hard, and they play even harder. We respect the talent that you will bring to the field tomorrow night, but don't underestimate our boys. They have worked hard this week getting ready for you. The only prediction I will make is that this should be a great ballgame. We can't wait to see your bus rolling in. See you under the lights. GO BIG RED!!!
  13. All that I will say is we are going to be ready to play. We love being the underdogs. Our guys are healthy and they have been working very hard. Hope you guys are ready for a good game. See you under the lights. GO BIG RED!!!
  14. I could not help but respond to your question about Waverly and McEwen. My guess is politics. I was just starting school way back when we played them in any sport and can remember all the talk about fighting and bickering back and forth. Then, in the early 80's it was suggested we consolidate schools. I did not think it was a good plan then and stick by that even today. Call it "small town pride". I love the town I live in (eventhough Lord knows it has its drawbacks). And I truly love the school from which my father graduated, I graduated, and just a few weeks ago, my daughter graduated. At this point in time, I know that our kids would love to play Waverly. Personally, I think it would be a great idea. Most everyone of us have cousins, neices and nephews that we would love to see playing against one another on the field and on the court. Economically, it would make a lot of sense. But for some reason, there are people calling the shots who do not see it that way. Life is so short and so precious. It is a shame that something that started over 30 years ago, still has such an impact today. GO BIG RED!!!
  15. Trust me, we're out here watching all these predictions being made about the upcoming season. We have had some guys who have been healing from wounds suffered during the 2006 season who are chomping at the bit and counting down the days to play some "Warrior" football. No predictions here about 1st place or last.......only to let you know that to get to any playoff spot you will meet our guys on the field at some point, and they are ready to make up for some unfinished business from last season. This is going to be a great football season. I can't wait!!!! See you under the lights. My blood bleeds red through and through! Go Warriors!!
  16. This is to all of the Warriors, but especially the Senior Warriors : Hoff, Fuqua, Brink, Shanks, May, Cross, and King. (Hope that Iam not leaving anyone out.) You guys have worked and played as a team for several years now. Despite how the last couple of games have ended, you have made us so proud. Go out on Friday night, (DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE CA), and play the game of your life. You have all dropped a lot of sweat on that field over the years. Give us all, no, give yourselves, a game to remember for the rest of your lives. Just do what you do best, and the rest will follow. #42 would love to play your last home game with you. It is killing him inside, but he will be rooting from the sidelines if all goes as planned on Thursday. Give the fans a game to remember. We all love you and it has been an honor to cheer for you all this year. Remember guy: Once A Warrior, Always A Warrior! GO BIG RED!!!!!
  17. You go Jordan! You guys play your hearts out Friday night. Show them your Warrior pride. You guys have been giving it everything you've got. Let's double that for Friday night. Let's pull an upset here. If it can be done, we can do it. Go Warriors!
  18. No, he is a sophomore. We have a great group coming back next year, so watch out for us. Also, our guys aren't done for this season. #42 will be cheering from the sidelines. Give it everything you've got Friday night. Go Big Red!!
  19. I am about to blow my cover by posting this, but here goes. My son is #42 that was hurt on the opening kick off last Friday night. I wanted to say how much that I appreciated the trainers from Cascade (a man and a lady) who came over to our bench to take care of him. They also checked him out at half-time and made another trip over to our side. As a mother and also as as someone who is in the healthcare industry, I knew that he had really done something to his knee that we had not dealt with in the past. But also as a mother, I knew that my son needed to hear someone else ( other than myself) tell him that he did not need to go back into the game again that night. We went for an MRI on Monday and it looks like my suspicions were correct (and yours too). The doctor is almost 99% sure that he has torn his ACL. We will get the official report tomorrow. It looks like he will be having surgery around the end of October. The rehab is around 6 months. I just wanted to let you know that your kindness was greatly appreciated. May God Bless You. Keep us in your prayers. Also, watch out for him again next season. He is bound and determined to come back better and stronger than ever. Go Warriors! Thanks again!
  20. I know that we are bringing at least 3 charter buses. Hope you have enough seats for us. If not, please roll out some portables. See you on Friday.
  21. I do not normally post a lot here, but I could not resist responding to this post. We do have an idea who we are messing with. How can we not respect a team who is undefeated for the season? You obviously have a great program in Cascade. I have not posted this until now, but I am a proud proud mom of a McEwen player. My son eats, sleeps, and breathes this sport. And he is not alone. The guys on our team are a also a family. The coaches, the parents, the players....we are all a family. It is kind of like your own family....you are allowed to talk about them, but no one else had better dare say a word. We have our disagreements at times, but by golly we stick together. Your guys do not need to take us too lightly. Frankly, I am glad that hardly any one is picking us to win. We like being the underdogs. We thrive on it. It is going to be a long trip to your town on Friday and a lot of fans have to work on Saturday, but trust me, the trip will be well worth it. Our crowd may not be huge in numbers, but trust me, those of us who are there will most likely not leave with our voices. WE WILL BE HEARD!!!! A lot of our guys played Jr. Pro together and have also been together for a while now. We parents have been counting on this team for several years now. They have not disappointed us yet. Make no mistake, we do know who we are messing with, and we are coming to play. This is going to be a great game, and I know that our team would love to meet you in the middle of the field after the game. No matter what the score is at the end of the game, our guys are respectful and good sports. We as parents as well as our coaches have instilled this in them. Tell all of your guys that "we will be seeing them under the lights." Good luck and may the best team win. Go Warriors!!!!!!
  22. I am one proud Warrior fan. I can't believe you don't know who I am. I yell for you guys at every game. You did a great job tearing up those Eagles Friday night. Keep leading your team through the rest of this season. Tell them to all keep their heads on straight and stay focused. We can't overlook any team no matter what the stats say. Go Big Red!!!!
  23. We are very proud of you #40!! You are doing an awesome job leading your team this season. Sorry that we don't say it more often. Keep up the good work. Be listening for those Warrior cheers Friday night. GO BIG RED!!
