  8. Sorry. What I was really meaning to convey is that there are some quality teams year in and year from east tennessee that get put out. As another point was made, most of the state champions in AA do come from west or middle tenneessee (at least recently). I wasn't meaning to disparage Dyer Co. or Dyersburg and their accomplishments. Hey, at least you guys did knock out "one of them thar private schools" in USJ which I know had to be a tough one. Again, I apologize and do have respect for baseball in all of tennessee.
  9. What I am really saying "playtough" is how nice would it be able to be like a team like Dyer Co. and Dyersburg were able to beat a team 31-0 and 26-0 in the Sectional (not their fault). This will never happen in East Tennessee due to the quality of the teams. All they have to do is win the Monday game and they are virtually in the State Tournament.
  10. There is no doubt that EVERY other region has a tougher time. As has been said, all you have to do is win the Monday game. I guarantee you that if you had to play Gibbs in east tennessee with Willis pitching or even Unicoi this year with Rice it would have been a lot tougher time and you would have been lucky for one to make it to state.
  11. Actually, Loudon vs. CAK tomorrow (who knows where due to field conditons) and Anderson Co. vs. Catholic at AC. The losers of today's games will play the loser's of tomorrow's game (where and when depending on conditions). Catholic 5 - Stone 4 Loudon 11 - Kingston 1
  12. Loudon is looking for a game next Tuesday at their place. Contact Coach Thompson at 458-4326.
  13. Let me tell you a few things "son". First of all, I challenge you and anyone else to find any posts related to Loudon that their was any crying about the score. But, honestly, playing starters up by 18-2 when their are freshmen pitchers in the game and you have at least four other subs on the bench and JV players in the stands is poor sportmanship in anyone's book. You could also throw in tagging up on a fly ball around that same score along with some aggressive base running. Coach Thompson and Loudon have had many chances in the past to do the same thing but have played BASE TO BASE and put subs in by the second or third inning. Yes, Loudon may end up having a bad year this year and should have played better defense (8 errors, 15 unearned runs). Nobody to blame but themselves for that. In looking at your posts you seem to be a Catholic player or fan (could be wrong). Calling some Loudon players jerks and Anderson Co. pitchers "faggles" is wrong. Seems like anybody that has beaten Catholic consistently in your opinion has something wrong with them. I would also challenge you to find any team that consistently thinks that of Loudon or Anderson Co. since Coach Downs has been there. Loudon does get fired up at times and is not perfect, but going as far as calling them jerks is a stretch. You might be upset that Catholic has only won one District Championship in this District (4AA) and not many (correct me if I am wrong) if at all in the history of their program. Try this on for size: Loudon has advanced to the Regionals 18 TIMES in 34 years and won their district 11 of those times! Another funny thing: Loudon lost to Anderson Co. 23-5 in 2001. Guess who won the District that year. Loudon.
  14. I don't know Rico. Maybe you can tell me how good Powell will be this year?
  15. Loudon lost 5 starters (2 pitchers that played other positions also) and another top pitcher is coming off an arm injury. Could be a tough year for the Redskins in a tough district. I would say you could take any team with the exception of Scott Co. and maybe Stone and be in the top 2 in any other district in east tennessee. This would mean going on to region. But, of course, that will not happen. Hopefully they will fill in the holes and won't have their first losing season since 1981.
  16. Do you know enough about Anderson Co. to call this a gift? I doubt it since you are from west tennessee. You never know what is going to happen but Anderson Co. is not that weak. Now, if Lipscomp is as good as they were in '05 (I don't know) that could be the case, but I doubt it.
  17. Loudon will host a Summer League tournament for next year's high school teams June 20-22. Entry fee is $175.00. Contact Bill Thompson at 865-556-1071.
  18. Are you not the one that stated in an earlier post that District 4-AA was down this year? I challenge you to find a District (in AA) that had four teams with 20 wins. It is a shame that a State Tournament contender from this district will be left out of the regionals.
  19. Here is what should be the seeding (may not be exact): 1- AC (unless CAK sweeps them next week then Loudon will be 1) 2- Loudon 3- Catholic 4- CAK 5- Kingston 6- Stone 7- Scott (I doubt Scott will play or may not even qualify) Note: I think CAK will host their games due to it was their turn to host the district tournament in the old format this year. AC and Loudon host pool play Next Saturday: @AC-CAK vs. Kingston @Loudon-Stone vs. Catholic AC and Loudon host the winners on the following Monday and it is double elimination in each pool with the winners of each pool playing a single game for the championship. It could be won by any one of these teams in the top 3 and possibly the top 4 or 5. You never know.
  20. Loudon needs some varsity baseball games on the following dates: April 21,23, and May 1. Contact Bill Thompson at 865-556-1071.
  21. Loudon needs three JV teams for a tournament on April 18 and 19. Contact Bill Thompson at 556-1071.
