With the District7A sweep- Can the regional Tournament be moved?

Only change I'm aware of for next year is that no more than two tournament games per night can be played in district (and maybe region) tournament, unless weather forces multiple games in order to finish on time.

Some districts went to that format this year, but it will be mandatory for everyone next year. It will shorten the regular-season by a game or two, or at least a few days.

For example, under that format it will take seven playing dates to finish a seven-team tourney, instead of five. Tournament won't start and finish the same week. Didn't follow it exactly, but 7-AA probably played something similar to that this year.

Can somebody put any more light on the subject?

If it has anything to do with T$$AA you know why the format has changed, I believe that the only make money off the teams in post season?! Not sure, but that would be my bet for changing tournament schedules and stretching it out longer, more gates.

First of all, congratulations to all of the 7A teams that advanced. Good luck to those teams in the championship tomorrow night. Now, QUIT YOUR WHINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next year it will be back in a 7A location. This year it was 8A's turn to host the region tourney. In 2 years it will be back in a 7A location. Do you see a pattern here? These 2 districts come together to form Region 4a and THEY ALTERNATE EACH YEAR! ONCE AGAIN QUIT WHINING AND EITHER COME WATCH THESE GREAT TEAMS PLAY OR STAY AT HOME!

I do not think any one is complaining about 8A hosting the tourney or the quality of the gym floor itself.

They just want 8A to find a place to play that can hold the crowd both in

people and parking. Also, it just my opinion but I think all tourneys should

be in a neutral site. Food for thought - looks like Wilson Central or Cumberland

could have been considered.

Well said, I would carry your thought one step farther and that is that all Regional Tournaments should be held on or at a neutral site that meets minimum standards for parking, seating, and ease of access. They the TSSAA should recomend that the same standards be applied to district tournaments but not make that manitory.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
